Service is excellent here, and the space is nice, but it's dirtier than the other cafes around here. There is food crumbs on all the tall chairs and tables, on the floor, window sill, etc., plus two types of flying insects buzzing around. The Starbucks of Canada! Blenz Coffee can be found on every corner, especially in Vancouver. Blenz is a nice place to catch your breath and relax a little after a day of shopping on Robson Street! I ordered the Peach Green Tea, and it was nice and refreshing! I also tried some of the Citrus Pear Blended Tea, which was pretty good as well. I have a soft spot for this location, as, one it is near my part time job, the other part is that a couple of years back I entered a contest in the Georgia Straight, and won coffee for a year, at this location. At the corner of Robson, and Bute, this coffee shop has survived the onslaught of the many Starbucks that have popped up on Robson over the last decade. If your looking for an alternative to the many Starbucks on Robson, come here, as it is more of a laid back crowd of people, and workers. You won't hear the terms of "venti, and tall" for sizes. Usually you have many foreign students working here. They are 24 hours, which is a big yes, especially on this block, where the other coffee shops close at 11 PM. The free internet is a big plus, but now, most of the other coffee places are giving this away too. read more

Came here for a coffee with a friend. Parking here is nonexistent unless you count the metered parking. Or if you're lucky you might find a spot or two on Alberni. This location does seem a *bit* run down, but you probably wouldn't care. What was curious is that all of the staff were Japanese with heavy accents. I had trouble understanding some of them. Meh would sum up my experience here. The service was really good; prompt, friendly. The shop kind of empty. I had wanted to go to JJ Bean but must have missed it by a street or two. I figured Blenz is a chain in Canada, I've seen a bunch of them, maybe it's good. I usually order black coffee without anything, I don't know why today I decided to go against everything I knew. I ordered a vanilla soy latte, pretty sure the soy was vanilla flavored, so I got a double dosage. I don't know if all I can taste is the overpowering soy or the artificial vanilla. Either way, the coffee was SO hot (even after a 5 minute trek in the cold) that I burned my mouth. It was SO sweet too. Why did I go against my usual rituals? Perhaps I would have saved myself. However, I ordered mom a black coffee, medium roast. I can't remember if she likes dark or medium and she said it was pretty light in flavor, yep, she prefers dark roast. I ended up pouring out half my drink and adding half of hers to mine. Made it a little bearable. Also picked up an almond croissant because she had mentioned something about it and she said, "this is from yesterday" ouch. I suppose coming from a family that knows food and knows it well is pretty detrimental. It wasn't a terrible experience. I'm just feeling a little jipped since that ran 12 bucks (which in fairness is less than what I would pay in the states for any kind of coffee anywhere esp. for how many things I ordered) and it all was just "ok." Starbucks, hands down! Ordered an iced non-fat vanilla latte and they put the ice in the cup before the hot espresso and milk. This melted the ice down completely leaving a luke warm drink for me to sip. Take a note from Starbucks and put the ice in last, after pouring in the espresso and milk! Coffee is also weak. I am typically not a fan of coffee chains. However, I oft sacrafice my craft coffee snobbery for the ultimate of luxuries - convenience! Enter Blenz, which seems to be at the corner of all tourist-y Vancouver spots. Bonus points for almond milk (which Starbucks does not have)! Also, I don't know why, but one Nanaimo bar is never enough to keep my belly happy. "The Canadian Coffee Company." As a tourist, shouldn't this have pulled me in? It was attached to my hotel, so I passed it all the time. Why didn't I? There wasn't enough time when I was there. When I was about to leave and had a few loonies and toonies to burn, I had to get water and was mesmerized by the Earl Grey chocolate (only to learn after reading the label upon return to CA, that it was imported from CA...laame, could've gotten it here) at the drugstore and opted for chocolate and water over coffee. Though I didn't have a chance to sample their coffee offerings, I did taste their samosas as I was waiting for my tour bus to pick me up. Mmm!! They were pretty tasty and huge. I really wanted to try their green tea smoothie. It looked so appealing. I've regretted not getting coffee from here ever since my passing it up for chocolate. Oh well, it's on the list for next time. There are several locations in Vancouver...more like on every corner, so it isn't hard to find a location. I like coming here because the service is always good and its just cool to stray from the crowd and not goto starbucks (except for their shaken iced tea lemonades, light ice, half sweet of course) Blenz or really any other coffee shop wins over starbucks for coffee for that matter. The very first Blenz I stop foot into was this one, I was glad I went later in the night so it was not so crowded and busy as I know most coffee shops can get. I ordered my usual caramel macchiato that I would get from Starbucks, but to my surprise, the barista, poured me a beautiful cream picture. I think I took a picture on my phone, but it was so sweet of her. I know it takes some real skill and milk steaming to get the right density for the foam. This was the closest coffee shop nearest to our hotel and was open late. I will honestly say, the coffee is so-so. It definitely was not the best coffee I have had, and I have had a lot of coffee. The first day I tried a Mocha Cappachillo drink - it was overly sweet with no hint of coffee. It was just pure chocolate milk blended with ice. I had a hard time drinking it. The next day, I opted to try a Mocha Chiller of some sort - and it was better. The milk was amazing and the the espresso was good. My only complaint about this place is their espresso is on the weak side, and they use very little espresso shots. I also had a gingersnap cookie - not good. Prices are comparable to Starbucks and other pricier brands, but the coffee is definitely worth the cost. They offer non-dairy options and a small selection of food. The seating is cozy and great for lounging or hanging out with friends. The walls are glass, so its always bright, and you can sit and people-watch comfortably for hours. There is indoor and outdoor seating, the service is friendly, and I love the taste of the coffee they use. One con is that the service is not always on point with regards to cleanliness, they sometimes forget to clean some of the tables and seats, so I find empty drinks and trash strewn about, sometimes crumbs on the seating. read more

Blenz = shit "coffee." Blenz = shit "food." Buy any other drink (matcha latte, strawberry tea, Belgian hot chocolate) and you'll do just fine. This particular Blenz boasts 15 seats at most inside, and oddly enough way more outside. I quite like sitting on the patio especially when the weather is a bit more warmer (like now), but it seems like it is overrun with very loud AND annoying foreigners, which makes me leave prematurely. Inside, you are quite close to your neighbour so I wouldn't recommend any private chats. ;) The staff are friendly, even though they didn't understand my order the first time around. If on Robson, I would come here over the one at Robson/Burrard as that one is waaaay more congested. Also this Blenz keeps the bathroom strictly for customers, which is something all Blenz should do. read more

DON'T GO HERE!!!! Normally, I love Blenz Coffee, but this location is disgusting! It is dirty (STAFF DON'T WASH THEIR HANDS), and the service is terrible. They take forever making drinks when it isn't even busy, and have a rude attitude to their customers. When I came here with my friend last time, she found the edge of a plastic wrapper in her drink and when she returned it, they just said it wasn't their fault because it wasn't theirs. If you want good coffee, decent service in a CLEAN store, there's a Starbucks, Tim Hortons, or JJ Bean that's only a minute away. I don't know why people still come here. I'm sort of basing this review on all my Blenz experiences, but I usually frequent the Blenz at Robson & Cardero. I love Blenz. I'm from Portland and we have our share of great coffee and Starbucks is not one of them. Starbucks is over-rated and over roasted. I have to say one thing for them and that's that they're EVERYWHERE. I have never had a bad experience at Blenz. The only thing that can get under my skin sometimes is the sloooooooow service at some locations and how incredibly hot it gets inside during the summer. I usually stick with my usual Soy White Mochas during colder weather and their mochachillos when its warmer. In my experience, they're consistently good. There's a smoothness to Blenz that I can't for the life of me find at any Starbucks. Its especially true in their chocolately drinks. Mochas at Starbucks have a chalkiness to them, but Blenz is just oh so smooth. I wish they had this chain down in the States, but until then, I'll have to trek it up to Vancouver to get my fix and stock up on beans. read more

I've been to many blenz around vancouver area and I must say, this location seems to almost always get my order wrong or they don't know what I want. I've asked once for a superfruit chillo and the staff said there is no such thing. It's actually on the menu and when they saw that they had it, I was corrected by the staff that I had to say fruit chillo and not tea chillo. I never even said tea chillo to begin with, sometimes putting a little effort into listening will help. Again, today I went in to order a iced coconut latte no whip before work and of course when I got to work, I realized I got a regular iced latte and paid the price of the coconut latte. Next time I should just taste my drinks before leaving. Of course I don't have the time to walk back and have them re-do the drink, but it would really help if they put in a little more effort in listening to the orders. read more
