Grabbed quite a few items for the crew before the CICB 5K. The menu was plentiful and gave us a lot to choose from. I also liked that the breakfast items weren't only the typical pastry choices but there were mini quiches and samosas as well. This Blenz Coffee is situated right in the entertainment district on Granville Street and Davie Street. There is unfortunately more negative points than positive that I can state about this location. On the positive: Most staff are friendly and attentive when I am giving my order. My orders have been correct. I do like the white hot chocolate, which I add cinnamon, but I find it too sweet, so next time I will ask for it to be less sweet. My most favourite dessert is the Vanilla Rose or Chocolate Rose Cake. I do like the size of the cookies, but they do taste stale, maybe they're still selling them passed their expired date.‍ This location is open 24 hours, which is amazing considering there isn't many places open 24 hours. Great for the bar crowd that needs to sober up with a coffee. On the negative: I believe their dessert bars (Nanaimo Bar, Brownie, Lemon Square, etc....) are significantly smaller than other Blenz Coffee locations, which makes me believe they're trying to ripe customers off, because customers are paying the same as any location, but receiving less portion than other locations. I thought that Blenz Coffee Corporation had a set standard for all franchises to follow, providing consistency for customers. The other major concern is their lack of soap in the bathroom. Now, I know this washroom has to be one of the top 10 worst washrooms of Vancouver and for obvious reasons, but why can't you make sure both are stocked with soap. I asked the staff on shift if they could fill up the soap and they said I don't think we have any soap in the cafe. Huh? I sure hope there is hand sanitizer for staff, because that would be very unhygienic for a food establishment that prepares and handles food. Just saying! read more

Located at the intersection of two busy streets, this coffee shop is clean and spacious inside with high ceiling. I visited this location today to redeem my birthday perk through the Blenz app. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating and poorly handled. After ordering through the app as instructed by the cashier, I presented the QR code for scanning. The cashier had difficulty scanning it and eventually keyed in the 6-digit number manually. At that point, he told me he could only offer a small latte--even though the app clearly states the birthday perk is a medium. I showed him a screenshot of the offer on my phone, but he simply said "sorry" and made no effort to fix the issue. Rather than asking the barista to make a medium and satisfy a customer, he left it at that. I have no idea if the problem was a terminal glitch or something else, but there were simpler ways to handle this situation.. Two days in a row I've had embarrassing encounters trying to redeem this birthday perk at different Blenz locations. At this point, it's not worth the headache and I'll uninstall the app and go somewhere else. Staff should be trained to handle app redemptions properly--including basic problem-solving when technical issues arise. Btw the latte was luke warm. read more

Bad - some seriously sketchy (and funky smelling) people going up and down the street outside, as well as entering the coffee shop. Buddy and I had to watch our stuff. We had gotten an iced peach green tea. The drink was made rather quickly but once we sipped it, the drink was insanely sweet with the syrup they used. I have a sweet tooth and this could definitely be toned down a lot. The shop is pretty big with plenty of seats & tables to work at. The bathrooms gave me the biggest ick. Didn't seem really clean. It's in the downtown area, so it's street parking or paid lots nearby. For one of my first stops coming to Vancouver, I wouldn't come back again. read more

Very slow service. Hot chocolate was luke warm (Hot water out of the tap is hotter), and did not have the rich chocolaty flavour I have experienced in other coffee shops and at home. Cookies were sweet but lacked a rich flavour. All items were insanely expensive. read more

A feed popped up on my Instagram about mochi Mondays as they partnered with a local female owned business and I was excited to support this initiative and had a gift card for Blenz. Mochi Mondays was only available at specific Blenz locations, so I made my way past our nearest location on Seymour and trekked to Davie and Granville on Monday. I had purchased four mochi donuts at $5.50 each. I bought two s'mores, popcorn caramel and vietnamese coffee, the intent was to give two to someone else, but after trying the two flavours, I decided not to give the other two away. The mochi donuts were not light, fluffy nor chewy. I have had mochi donuts at Their There, Mochido, and Ikoi, and the ones at Blenz tasted stale. I nuked one of the mochi donuts and it was slightly better, but still not good. I like Blenz as a coffee shop and the many different flavoured drinks they have, but these mochi donuts were a huge disappointment. read more

"... it is what it is" The comment from a barista in the neighborhood but that didn't work at Blenz. Vancouver, like all cities in Canada (and US) have a homeless problem. And when you operate a 24 hour operation like they do (or Breka, a block or two away), there will be challenges. I came early, 5:00 a.m. and watch the barista simultaneously pour espressos, coffees and sell baked goods all the while dealing very diplomatically but firmly with those looking for a place to rest their head. A delicate balance it was, but he was exceptional about it. The black coffee was good, the espresso which came in a small paper cup was passable. There's a lot more than just a coffee shop operating 24 hours a day and for that, witnessing a bit of humane treatment while performing another job was interesting and heartening all at once. Blenz appears to have good people here, and a second visit was no different. Looking for joe at 3:00 a.m.? They're here and waiting for you. read more

Well, this review isn't too helpful, since I only tried the beignets. The lemonades and teas did look good, but I didn't try any. Early in the morning obviously I'm from the East Coast so I woke up early looking for a place for coffee. The reviews were pretty bad on this place but I just had a seat for myself so just stop there ask for a double espresso the guy on the counter could care less that was there is listen to Indian music in the background. All the pastries are wrapped up from yesterday, so clearly nothing is fresh here And goes to make an espresso and what it came out, was basically black, dirty water, and he made me go walk to the other side of the store to pick it up and bring it back to the register. There's no one in the store. It's 5:40 in the morning so for any future travelers avoid this please the bad reviews are actually true unless you wanna chuckle, go ahead and visit for just comedy on read more

Been to many Blenz ordering matcha's on a regular basis without any difficulty. However, there's a first for everything... I go in to order a almond milk matcha but it was very watered down and wasn't pleased with it. I asked if a little more milk could be added to this, the employee replied wth she could put a splash more in an already full cup. Replying not sure if it will fit without spilling, wondered if I could get a larger cup, the employee said unless you pay for one then no. So instead the employee gave me a shot of almond milk to do it myself in again a already full cup. It wasn't that, that really left me frustrated, it was the attitude and the disrespect for questioning how others like their drinks and trying to validate how they make it. Left feeling frustrated and disrespected as in a job with customer service, the customer is the priority, the fact I was being questioned and undervalued I will not be going back to this Blenz. If management is teaching their employees to treat customers like this, I wonder how long this chain will be open considering its location and how many homeless are there. This place is horrible. First, my matcha literally tasted like fish. I've had matcha at countless places and this is by far the worst. It was also chalky. No one else I was with actually liked their drinks. I ordered a breakfast burrito. When I bit into it it was ICE COLD so I sent it back to be heated. When they brought it back it was still super cold in the center so we sent it back again. They finally came out and just told me to pick something else. My friend order avocado toast. The bread wasn't toasted and the avocado was hard. The order also came with two pieces (we asked to double check before ordering) but they only brought one. When we brought this up to them, they told us we only payed for one. We were all very hungry coming in, so we are highly disappointed. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money here. We waited for an excessive amount of time for our drinks when there weren't any other customers and when we got it it was not at all what we ordered.... mine didn't even have espresso in it it was tea. Laptop camper here. Founded in Vancouver, Blenz is now a large chain with many locations in Vancouver. All locations offer free wi-fi. I noticed some serous laptop camping going on. Chairs are comfortable, plugs are plentiful but wi-fi access is limited to 2 hours. The cases are filled with sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal cups, croissants, bagels, parfaits, dessert bars, samosas, etc. * Latte: grew cold very quickly, flavor decent but not rich. They have signs about how their latte art but I wasn't impressed with what I received. It's a spacious place, open and contemporary in design. The TV is tuned to sports (hockey of course). Blenz prides themselves on being the fastest-growing local coffee chain in Canada, but unfortunately their coffee quality was slightly below average IMO. I found this place to be comparable to a Starbucks, complete with seasonal drinks and a limited food selection. My guy couldn't stomach any more caffeine for the day, so he opted for a hot chocolate- here that is apparently made with a white chocolate syrup that neither of us cared for. This location has comfortable, lounge-style seating. Signs everywhere state that the bathrooms are for customers only, but there are no locks or anything. You do need to get a coupon after your transaction for a code to use the WIFI, which seemed to keep the number of loitering people lower than other spots in the area. read more

The cornerstreet Blenz on Davie and Richards in yuppieville and across from the beautiful Davie Street park. Perks of this Blenz: moderately busy, good layout and space, and fabulous staff. Sitting here right now with my Americano, surrounded by festive golden Christmas wreaths, the wall of Make-A-Wish donation stars, comforting easy listening music and with pods of people relaxing to some coffee. I was warmly greeted by the attentive, kind and helpful staff - so friendly, that I'm actually writing about this Blenz experience. Love it when I meet people with such positive energy. How many Blenz-ers does it take to make an iced tea? The answer is an astonishing FOUR! One to add the ice, one to read the directions from a book, one to say "shake, shake, shake" and one to say "no, no 7 pumps." Yick! I can't believe I actually drank that $4.50 iced tea! It was a bitterly sour black tea with lemon syrup. I've had this very drink at other Blenz...and it's always been a good sweet/sour balance, but this was just a yick! A fresh coat of paint, new furniture, new bar, new owners, management and staff but still the same let downs as I had prior to the renovations at this Blenz. At least now, the holes in the walls are gone and they do have staff working...once there were customers in the shop and no one working. They'd left to buy a bag of ice. They only re-opened on Friday and I've already been in twice. I'm hoping it's just "newbie" coffee jitters, but I won't be actively seeking out my caffeine jolts from here anytime again soon. read more

I had the matcha tea, such was good. It's different from the matcha teas, here in the states. It was a matcha latte. Yummy. I didn't add sugar, but it was for without the sweetness.
