    Oatmilk cappuccino (not good)
    Mayu D.

We were looking for coffee and decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, the barista was very dry and unwelcoming, and the cappuccino wasn't very good. The pictures are deceiving--it looked great, but the drink was very light and lacked flavor. We ended up feeling like we needed to go elsewhere for a proper espresso.

It's much clean and tidy than before renovation. Unfortunately the vegan banana bread is very hard. Does not feel fresh. The chai latte is normal. I asked for extra hot but still not hot enough. Half sweet is a bit sweeter than other cafe.

Cold brew, matcha latte, cappuccino and flaky croissants. Had the pain au chocolate, ham croissant and breakfast sandwich. Coffee was good, pastries were great complement. Service was excellent. Very nice, clean atmosphere.

Great coffee, fast service. Do yourself a favor, and skip the Starbucks right across the street.

Cafe Artigiano @ West Pender & Thurlow

Many years ago when I was involved with football(it's really hard to call it soccer) in the winter - my warm up drink afterwards was the Spanish Latte at Caffe Artigiano. I was working downtown & my usual Starbucks location is going through renovations. Across the street at W Pender & Thurlow is CA. I had not been to CA & not to this location in awhile. Situated right at the corner, above is the Marriott Hotel. CA is all about being a stylishly classy cafe - it's got beautiful furnishings & cool lighting. I ordered a Spanish Latte & wasn't sure what to have for breakfast - so went with the recommended gourmet Breakfast Wrap. Three words for this drink - De Light Ful! Having grown up drinking condensed milk & when I found out that SP is made with it - I was thrilled! My drink was perfect & my wrap was amazing - tasted so good! Thing is if the SL is made just right you don't need to add any extra sugar or cream. My wrap consisted of Gouda, tomato, asparagus, onions, red peppers & pesto mayo. Just loved it!!! There are plenty options if you want to try something else! Now these high end coffee joints are pricy but really were can you get quality coffee & a bite to eat that's cheap & not nasty? CA I demand that the dude who prepped my wrap be given an immediate raise! LOL

Start the day with Spanish Latte and blueberry scone

I tried Spanish latte. This menu item was new to me. Maybe I should stir the drink as the condensed milk was at the bottom of the cup. The scone was delicious and substantial. The waitresses were helpful, cheerful and polite.

Nicely decorated restaurant, there is a retro scooter in the middle of the dinning area. Highly recommended to those who are looking for Benny breakfast. Perfect location. The plate is huge, even it seems not much food- I was not able to finish potatoes. You order and pay at the cashier, which saves time by the end.

My friend got me introduced to Artigiano's coffee and I've been a big fan ever since. This is cozy and fancy coffee shop serves delicious coffee. I always get their Caramel Macchiato or just Iced Spanish Latte. At the same time I got my folks liking this shop as well. Later on they became as Aritigiano fans like myself. Their coffee has good balance of sweetness and this location also offers water fountain if you ever get thirsty. You'll love this place.

Coffee is amazing!! We went in a weekday morning, there was a short line, and service was quick. Ambiance is not bad.

I'm a sucker for a good multi-roaster cafe, and Revolver is a fantastic one. They serve up beans from all over, and they do it right, thanks to staff with eyes (and noses) for detail. Barista Soho and I chatted about NYC[1], and he told me La Cabra has a bakery there[2]. Savored a lovely pourover from Toronto[3], served hot. That very same day, I returned and had a decaf espresso that slapped[4]. Ample seating. A fair bit of natural light somehow makes it into the shop. Good for a date, coworking (especially in their next door "Archive" space), catching up with friends AND discovering coffee from around the world. Find this shop in Gastown, a short walk from the SeaBus station. [1] Yes, his name was Soho. Not SoHo. [2] Saved for my next trip to the East Village. [3] Saw Dak on the menu, but I'll be in Amsterdam sooner rather than later... [4] No idea what it was. Besides, the menu'll change before I find out[5]. [5] I love footnotes!

Revolver is what I'd consider a multi-roaster shop with a focus on the coffee first. The bar is made up of high quality small batch grinders, perfect for grinding fresh for each cup, and a long line of pour over setups to give each cup the attention it deserves. Behind the bar you can see an Aiden by Fellows for quick batch brewing quality beans to the standards of the specialty coffee association or quick recipe testing. The menu is predominantly descriptions of the coffees they're currently brewing with a few classic and simple coffee preparations like a latte and a cortado, but nothing too involved because they focus on the coffee itself. I really liked how they separated the coffees by flavor profile so you could key in on the type of beans and roast you prefer. They offered several natural, honey, and anerobic options, which made me happy. My friend isn't a coffee geek like I am, so it was fun to see which he gravitated to and enjoy that alongside my choice, which was totally opposite. The barista side of the shop is long and narrow, with the bar predominating, but there's a great sitting area right next door that I didn't even notice until we were leaving. I'd hoped to buy a bag of beans to take with me but none of the ones we tried were available. Good sign I suppose, but sad for me. Next time!

We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

I could tell even from outside that it's a popular work and study type of coffee shop with your free wifi and outlets. I hope this post doesn't give it away and make it way too crowded for me to find a seat next time. There's a steady flow of people visiting the stores while I was there on a weekday between late afternoon and early evening but there's always extra seat for anyone new looking for a desk to work or chat with friends. A few could be better are the pricing and temperature. They offer free oat milk substitute and -$0.35 for bringing your own cup but no more employee discount. And it was so cold in there, I could see a lot of people kept their winter jackets on, I don't think it's a heating issue but the constant windy seems to suggest the AC is on rather than the heater, oh wells Im out of there now. For that reason, unless I'm bundled up, it'll be a hard sale to be back again! I got a hojicha latte and it as pretty good, perfect sweetness and temperature for my cold with no ice. The barista was super great to work with.

Don't let the looks fool you as the sandwiches' appearances fall kind of short. However, both sandwiches were delicious. Starbucks could never. ‍ The Doug Sandwich - a full bodied sandwich consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and tarragon aioli. I thought this sandwich would be too heavy, but the brioche bun is light and the scrambled eggs are really fluffy.
