This food is delicious. It's freshly made to order and takes several minutes before it comes out. The dining chicken tasted like BBQ chicken off the grill. It had a nice char and a slight spice to it. The jillif rice was spicy and had a tomato flavor. The sautéed onions on it were salty, spicy, crunchy while giving off a nice juice. Then the raw onions were peppery and tangy. The whole meal was delicious. The strawberry lemonade was refreshing and sweet. It had a creamy feel to it. Very enjoyable. Oh... the chicken empanada....DELICIOUS. get it. Will be returning here. Mera's Tip: jollof

Their jollof is good too but I've had better. Theirs is a little dry and not as smokey as I'd like, but they do add a side of some type of tomato and onions near it so I mix it in and it does add a little more to it so thats a 4/5. Ive also had their fatal and it was good too. I see that they recently added fufu to their menu but its too expensive in comparison to the other places I've had. I wish they had egusi on their menu, but it'll probably be very expensive as most things are at this restaurant.

I've never had African cuisine, so this was my first time & I was excited to try it. I ordered the meat pie, which was very good & fulfilling even. It's similar to a beef Pattie, however the pattie tasted very similar to coco bread which is what a beef pattie comes with if you choose to have it. I also tried the Egusi Soup (goat meat) with pounded yam. The combination together works very well. There was no overwhelming heat, it was well seasoned & the pounded yam was the perfect portion. Now the pounded yam alone has absolutely no taste, however it's meant to be eaten with the Egusi Soup. I've ordered twice from here & want to make my way to the restaurant to see how it is on the inside, however I have no complaints. I also like that they wrap the Egusi soup in Saran Wrap just in case it gets tilted or the bag goes upside down while being delivered. I always appreciate restaurants that take that extra step to secure the delivery.

I did order my first meal by Uber eats, which was pretty tasty but small portions and I decided to visit for takeaway. Still nothing changed, the portions of it was so small and a little pricey, food was tasty. Everything in NYC has comma in it. Shops was decent, mainly for takeout only, suya was good, egwusi soups was okay, vegetable soups didn't taste that good, lacks seasoning. Fufu was tiny! I will definitely order some dishes again, service was excellent, my waiting period was not long compared to other African restaurants in the neighborhood. Location was great and waiting area looks clean / organized. See ya next time.

$75.00 straight in the trash. What a waste. Like it was in the fridge for a week and then warmed up. The audacity!

I was told you know it's a legit place since inside, there's hanging one of the most common Ghanaian house decorations, the wall mat with the famous woman smiling from ear to ear, holding a vessel and a large bowl. This place is definitely a hole in the wall, resembling more of a closet on the side of a building than an actual eatery. It's cash only, be prepared, and also you might have to ring the doorbell since the guy isn't always there attentive waiting at the door. Prices were fair for what they were offering. We got the Banku with okra soup and Waakye with goat meat. Both were legit, according to my friend, and reminded him of home so much that he closed his eyes. He said we definitely need to go back.

We found a charming and lovely restaurant with delightful French cooking. The deal really can't be beat. The small buffet area was ample both with options and flavor! She asked if we wanted a salad and choice of soups that they had for the day. They were brought out from the kitchen with a basket of rolls. We chose the creme of leeks soup. So warm and comforting! On the buffet: Turkey meatballs Chicken Dijon sauce Mussels & Clams Garlic sauce Also some sliced and cubed cheese were out on the buffet. For dessert they had small portions of bread pudding to help yourself to. We ate until we could eat no more! Marie was very kind and attentive. We were not rushed at all. We had a relaxing and pleasant lunch date. Honestly, if they were closer than us, I'd be there all the time. Maybe for dinner the next time! Lunch buffet is available Tuesdays-Saturday 11:00 am-2:30 pm

I had a really good time dining in at La Baraka. I always passed by the store but never really got…read morethe chance to go in. I'd been reading the reviews, following the restaurants social. I ordered UberEats from them before and was blown away by the tremendous offerings and generous portions. I decided to dine in and it was even better! The restaurant is located on the busy Northern Blvd between Morgan and Glenwood. The inside has a 19th century French ambiance, decorated with French posters, carpeted floors and a cozy warm dining area. Don't worry about the never ending traffic noise, commotion , and construction coming from outside. The calm and peaceful ambiance along with the music playing in the restaurant canceled out all the exterior noise. I opted in for their lunch buffet, which offered a ton of food for an amazing $18.95 deal which you can hardly find in this day and age. The restaurant gave a nice basket of warm bread with a generous amount of butter in a ramekin followed by a really good Tunisian salad with a little bit of everything. (fresh greens, cooked carrots, chickpea salad, diced cucumbers peppers and their take on the Ratatouille-- really good) I was given the option of getting their daily soup or the French Onion Soup with an up charge. I took the French option soup without any hesitation. Last time I had a good French onion soup was back when I attended college in upstate. Glad I got to try the one from here. The onion soup has an abundance of flavor with a generous amount of melted cheese and onions. The buffet selections were at the table. It came with two entrees (a chicken and a beef) cooked vegetables, mussels, mixed rice, cheese selection and slices bread cake. The entrees vary each day so be sure to call in and check. The chicken was moist, and juicy, served with a mushroom gravy. Similar to a Chicken Marsala dish. The stewed beef with mushrooms was nice and soft. The veggies included carrots and onions. The mussels were cooked to perfection, simmered in a nice buttery sauce. The meal also includes a cup of coffee or tea. What a great way to finish the meal. Marie was super nice and friendly. She gave me some insights on the food and the different menus they have on different days. A great establishment going strong for 47 years! Thank you Marie for everything. I will definitely be returning with my family.
