I ordered on DoorDash, which as of press time requires the comment field for some options. I didn't get the intended bean sauce and have no idea if this was user error, but the accompaniments I did receive were great. There were a couple of plantain slices and a ton of rice; the killer app is a potato salad with beets. The pate appetizer was enticing. I got the chicken-herring combo, massive and a great deal at $6.

The food is not over seasoned. The fried pork is delicious, there's obviously going to be fatty pieces, but we didn't mind, it's pork... fat is flavor.. Just don't eat this every day, it wasn't even greasy.. My first time trying Haitian food and I'm loving it. I enjoy food made this way. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh. All the components in every dish added a nice flavor, like the onions in the fried pork... The potato salad was good too. L ate it all before I could get another bite. They took some time to make everything but it was worth the wait. Seriously really good food here. I don't normally even care for tostones but they fried it so well it wasn't dry at all. Nice and crispy on the edges.

This place made love plantains again!…read more This restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing to the eye from the color scheme to even having a live DJ. Our server was so nice and tended to us while making sure everything was properly taken care of. Yall now this food? Immaculate. The combination of flavors was great and the portions did not miss at all. The dressing that comes with the cabbage was sooo tasty. The patties stole the show with enough meat inside and the dough was perfect. The lemonade was a nice refreshing drinking to wash everything down. Yall should definitely come check this place out. ‍

I ordered the $16 lunch special to go, which included a green plantain sandwich filled with griot, a small salad, and passion fruit lemonade. The food was absolutely perfect. The griot was expertly prepared: tender and well seasoned with a citrusy flavor that makes authentic Haitian fried pork so delicious; less is really more for this dish. The meat tasted fresh, flavorful, and carefully cooked; it wasn't greasy, dry, or overly salty. Instead of traditional bread, the sandwich was made with fried green plantains. The small salad was fresh. . The passion fruit lemonade was tropical and really refreshing. For $16 the quality, portion and overall value is not bad at all. (They also have $5 happy hour specials). I waited approximately 15 minutes for my takeout order, but it was worth it. The food tasted freshly prepared rather than rushed or sitting around and microwaved. A special thank you to Paolane, the hostess. She was sweet, professional, patient, and genuinely helpful. Since this was my first visit, she took the time to help me understand the menu and choose my order. Her excellent customer service made a wonderful first impression. Although I ordered takeout, I noticed that the restaurant was very clean, comfortable, and inviting. The climate control was perfect which may seem like a small detail but it made the wait much more pleasant. The décor was tasteful and polished. I also noticed that dine in meals are presented on adorable wooden style plates and bowls which adds something special to the dining experience. I also ordered a Haitian hot chocolate for my grandson. He is a very picky eater, so I'll update this review once it passes his official taste test. BunNan delivered authentic flavor, thoughtful presentation, excellent service, and impressive value. I wish they had a long Island location but I will definitely return!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND them a try.

The establishment is beautiful -- great décor, nice music, and a stunning bar setup. The food presentation was amazing, and everything looked just as good as it tasted. The mango colada is a MUST -- absolutely amazing. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and what really stood out was that the owner personally came out to greet us. She was very welcoming, and we had a great conversation about culture, which made the experience feel even more special and authentic. The only minor thing -- it gets a little chilly when the door opens but that's small compared to the overall experience. It's located in College Point, which isn't exactly a prime location and parking can be limited, but honestly it's worth the trip. I just wish Iliana's was closer to me so I could go more often. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who isn't familiar with Haitian food or wants a great atmosphere, good vibes, and quality service.

It is located in college point, which to be quite frank isn't convenient for me personally, but I would make the trek if need be because it really is good and the hospitality can't be beat. I got to meet the owner Mary and her relative Maria who are both so sweet and down to earth- in simplest terms, good vibes only. For cocktails, I got 2 Bees Knees & they were strong & tasty, what's not to love? For food, I got the crab cakes & the boulet & johnny cakes. If I had to pick a favorite, it would easily be the crab cakes but both were tasty. Also, the decor of this place is so cute & unique. If I ever needed to host an event, I would come here. All in all, I wish Mary the best success as she's a great person & has a lovely establishment. If you ever find yourself in the area, do stop by- you won't be disappointed.
