A little bakery with awesome birthday cakes. Mary is a talented artist creating designs for cakes with fondant and buttercream. She is a terrific baker. Her cake is very moist and flavorful. Her buttercream recipe is decadent and not greasy. I had her create a cake for my daughter who is a firefighter/paramedic and Mary did an outstanding job. This Blessed Little Kitchen is heavenly in so many ways! There wasn't one item I purchased that wasn't HEAVENLY!!! The best part was going back and back and trying so many amazing things... This truly is my favorite bakery ANYWHERE! By far hands down YES the best cinnamon roll around but so so much more! The cake decorating is amazing and the love in the bakery oooozes! I don't have enough good things to say about this amazing bakery! The product they create is amazing. I've never had anything I didn't like. The cakes are moist and rich. the cookies have great crunch and also soft and have some really unique flavors. They have butter cookies that melt in your mouth! The oatmeal cream pies and pecan shortbread bars are some of my favorites. The owner, Mary, is probably the best human on the planet. She is kind and generous and serves the community without judgement. Her staff is a direct reflection of her and everyone is so kind and friendly. They decorate the most beautiful cakes. My only complaint is that they are in such high demand, you need to plan in advance to get a beautiful cake creation. BLK prides themselves on the quality of their work and nothing leaves the shop without being perfect. I am a fan for life! I wish she would do donuts, but I don't know if I would be able to control myself if they did! read more

Let me tell you about this bakery in general and about Mary in particular. I picked up a Christmas order yesterday and when I got home I noticed I was missing one of my boxes of cookies. Normally, I would have just let it go, but I was giving the cookies as gifts and would have been short for someone. I called and spoke to Mary who said it was her fault and she would drive to my house to deliver the box of cookies. I told her that was not necessary because the round trip to West Dundee was an hour. She was working at an unbelievable pace with orders everywhere, more goodies being baked and still offered to do this. I said I would come back this morning (which I did) and she baked me a fresh box to replace the missing one. When I arrived, my order was waiting and she had put a little "gift" inside. She was outside loading someone's car, the bakery was full and she stopped to speak to me. This woman is the most wonderful, giving, caring person in the world. I told my husband that she is the epitome of a truly good person that does charitable deeds all year in addition to caring for a beautiful family and an outstanding business. Her bakery is the best ever; but, more importantly, she and her team are magnificent. read more

The owner and her staff are hands down some of the nicest people I have ever met. The baked goods are delicious. The whoppie pies are my fave (especially the pumpkin ones in the fall) and the cinnamon rolls are a very close second. The only reason I don't visit more often is because I'd gain 100# from all of the yummy treats.
