Some of the shades installed are not working properly and they will not come out to correct the problems for almost two weeks. I really dislike having to give bad reviews it never sits well with me as times can be challenging. I went to the store on Sunday originally I was supposed to go to Brooklyn, but due to a marathon there was significant traffic. Upon arrival which was 12 noon we were greeted by an employee and he seemed disinterested in even providing us with services. we bought our measurements in since we've had done some research online and requested what we were looking for throughout this whole time. There was no engagement just someone jotting down on what we were requesting despite having a policy that says they'll match a price this employee did not show any desire to work with us. The employee gave us an estimate when I showed him the amount that we obtained online. His response was oh well order it online. when I know it should have been let me see what the difference is. He quoted us a significantly higher amount and then declined to let us take the quote with us so that we could think about it. This particular employee lack professionalism obviously did not want to make a sale nor was he open to discuss options his demeanor was of someone who didn't care. I headed out to Brooklyn, which was where our original appointment was spent over $5000 working with Jerry, who took his time to go over various options that would suit our needs. I wish I had read these reviews before I gave them ny business. The first installer came two hours past the estimated window. 3/6 shades were crooked on the bottom rail. Since they can only send someone on Thursdays and I had to cancel the following Thursday, it took 2 weeks to have them come and pick them up to be restrung. The morning of the next appointment, the installer, texted me to say he would be two hours past the window, and based on previous experience with him, I knew it was possible he would be even later. I called the 800 number to ask that, since my shades were crooked and I was being inconvenienced, could they make sure he got to me earlier so I could proceed with my commitments for that day. I don't know what they said to him, but when he showed up, he made it very obvious that he was furious. He repeatedly slammed his ladder on the floor to open it, knocked things off my desk and didn't pick them up, argued with me over the timing, and interrupted me every time I tried to explain I didn't bad mouth him to the company. It was a scary experience and shook me up of the rest of the day. I spoke to the mgr, described his behavior and made it clear that he could never come to my apartment again. When the shades were ready, they sent Louis, a total professional and a perfect gentleman. After he installed the blinds, 3 of them were still crooked on the bottom rail. Louis reknotted the strings and fixed them all in 10 minutes. So, if the first installer had known how to do his job in the first place, all that trouble and inconvenience could have been avoided. I have been trying to get ahold of the manager again, (5 calls and messages) to explain the details about the fix for the strings that the first installer was completely ignorant of, and to compliment Louis and I have yet to get a call-back. Each time, I've been told she's with a customer. It's been over a week and she has not been able to make the time to call me. Today, I spoke to the sales person who sold me the $1830 (for 6) shades, and he said the manager is out sick and/or she's been too busy to call me back! When I tried to explain that that's not what I was told, he interrupted me and made it clear that he thinks I'm the problem. It's obvious that there is a big misunderstanding about what is considered professional behavior and proper customer service. Maybe you have to spend much more money to get treated with courtesy and respect in that store, but I would recommend you hang sheets on your windows before you spend your money here. read more

They are very expensive though and have a lot of choices with a huge selection of color, patterns and styles in keeping with the times. N.B. They don't deliver for free as part of their service granted with the large amount of money paid they should deliver for free. Deceitful sales tactics and delivery of product that was not what was promised to us. We ordered blackout shades (attached picture) and after installation the sun beamed in strongly. We were promised complete blackout and that is not what we got. We ended up keeping them because we already threw out our other shades. Then, she sent samples worth 50% more than invoiced (but didn't note with the samples that the samples sent were more $$ than agreed with original, 50%-paid invoice) I didn't find out until I tried to confirm final order. Now, almost 60 days (it's Nov 2) have passed and BTG has my $$, but I still have no blinds (2 rooms). I placed an order for blinds in JANUARY 2021 at the Staten Island store, and still DID NOT receive them. On my receipt it states that I would have delivery within 4 to 6 weeks, NOT 4-6 months, which we are now going on MONTH 5!!! This was the first time I placed an order with Blinds to Go, and it will certainly be the LAST! Additionally, no one ever answers the phone at the store. This was my first time back to the store in over 10 years. About six months ago the cords on my blinds in my bedroom broke in varying degrees. My wife went to the store and was told how to remove the shades. It did not work and I did not follow up. Last Friday I got fed up with the way the shades looked and went back to the store. I totally got ripped off by them. In the store (#209-Milltown, NJ) the saleswoman, Monique, told me that they stand behind their product..bull ! She made a mistake on the order I placed ($1,000.00 order) and blamed it on me not catching the mistake. Am I supposed to know the difference between Tip To Tip and Cloth To Cloth? That's her job, not mine. Anyway, my shades are not wide enough and I am stuck with them. I got the run around from her co-worker Scott on Sunday. While my shades are beautiful and the salesperson who assisted us was both knowledgeable and patient (she reconfigured the estimate about 4 times until I was satisfied with both the products and the price point, all the while without any pressure to purchase), I would NEVER recommend doing business with this place. The trouble started with the installers they recommended. First of all, for the price it is insane that you must pay for installation, but I digress. Both installers' business cards claimed they would return calls within 24 hours. However, my husband had to call several times until one finally answered because our voicemails were never returned. He came to measure the windows, and we were told Blinds to Go would call when the measurements were in. Well, Blinds to Go never called so I called them. The girl who answered the phone told me my measurements never came in, and she didn't seem too concerned about it. My husband called the installer, who said he had in fact given the measurements to the store. I called back and finally figured out that because the measurements were under my husband's name, the rocket scientists at the store weren't able to figure out that it was for my account. So the measurements were just sitting there, and they didn't think to cross reference it by order or address. When we were finally able to get the installer to come and install, he gave us a window of between 10-2. He didn't come until 4 in the afternoon. Furthermore, he was very rude, calling me saying that he couldn't pick up the blinds because there was a balance on the account in an accusatory tone, insinuating that I couldn't pay...I took care of the balance (mind you I had tried to do so on a separate phone call but the girl told me to wait until the blinds came in, and at the time of my phone call about them coming in she didn't remind me to pay). As a side note, I had a coupon that they couldn't accept on the phone...whatever Blinds to Go. All of this would be fine...they would have received a decent rating from me...if the blinds actually worked! Oh, the shades in my living room look lovely, but the blinds in the kitchen might as well be from Home Depot, and we might as well have hung them up ourselves. Not to mention that the blackout shades in the bedroom were hung at the front of the window so light comes through the sides (the installer's assistant did ask us if we wanted them mounted front or back, and when I asked to explain the difference the installer grumbled to him to set it to the front). The best part is that we obviously weren't going to tip them, but he didn't even offer us our $5 change. read more

Very disappointed with our recent experience with Blinds to Go. I do not recommend them. I have provided a long detailed storyline of what we went through. We were told the whole process would be about 2-3 weeks (Starting in mid August). Today is November 8th and the ordeal finally ended Yesterday - November 7th! Consultant came to our home on August 11th. We placed an order that day for new blinds for almost every room in our house. At 2-4 windows a room, this was not a cheap project. 6 weeks later we were told our order was ready (3-4 weeks longer than initially told to us). I scheduled a day/time to take off of work to be home for installation. On the day of installation, the installers informed me that they were missing pieces for at least 2 rooms. It was incredibly frustrating to have waited 6 weeks for the order to be ready and then to have been told they didn't even have the full order. This meant I would have to schedule another day to take off work for them to come back to complete the job. The installers themselves, although nice guys, were unprofessional. They should have worn foot coverings over their sneakers (as they were constantly going in and out of the house to their van and walking throughout my house). They also used my bed as their dumping zone for unpacking the blinds. They should have placed a covering/cloth down before laying the boxes from the warehouse on top of my bed spread. By far the most disappointing part was that I saw that almost every blind that was installed was damaged (not to the fault of the installers)- and one shade was crooked. Clearly, the machine used to cut the blinds had some issues because the edges of the blinds were splintering and the white paint/overlay on the faux wood was peeling off. I immediately called our Consultant and told her the issues (missing pieces and damaged pieces). She instructed me to take pictures and send them to her and she would get back to me within 5 days. On the 6th day I had to reach out to her. She told me the warehouse was working on producing new blinds to replace the damaged ones but that the shade could not be fixed until the installers removed the crooked one and took it back with them. A week later the installers came back with the replacement blinds along with the ones that were originally missing. The replacement blinds were MUCH better! They took the crooked shade and put up a paper shade. I was told it would be about a week for the new shade to be ready. After 2.5 weeks I reached out to the consultant to check on the status and she told me it was ready and the installers would be in touch. Another week went by and no one had contacted me. I reached out to the consultant again and this time she chose not to respond. However, she must have passed on my message because a few hours later the installers called me to see if they could come over "right now" to install the shade. I was not home and asked them if they could come over a few hours later when I would be home. They said they couldn't. I asked them if they could come the following morning or any other morning and they said they couldn't. [I think it's fair to expect that I should be given more than a 45 minute notice to schedule someone to come to my house.] The installers told me they would be in touch and wished me a Happy Thanksgiving and they hung up. [Their intention was to let another 2 weeks go by before reaching out to me again.] After they hung up, I reached out to the consultant and the installers again and asked that they provide me with a few upcoming days and times that they are available to install. I told them that a last minute call ahead does not work with my schedule. The consultant did not respond to me. A few hours later the installers got back to me and said that they could come in an hour. This worked for me as I would be home at that time (as this was my original request when they had called me a few hours earlier). I'm glad this is over now. This was a long drawn out and disappointing process that should have been over and done with in early September. read more

I entered the measurements and a ordered alabaster mini blind. Took a little over a week to receive. I opened the box, blind was there, but....NO MOUNTING HARDWARE! I called the Blinds To Go call center, gave order number and was told they'd ship me the bracket mounting hardware. I asked can you send it next day, because I need to get this blind up and they said "we'll request it, but they'll probably just ship it UPS." So, here I've been waiting another week for brackets!! I had a bad experience with Blinds To Go and would definitely not recommend them. I was purchasing blinds and shades for a new home. On Sunday, August 13, I placed an order in the Mt. Laurel, NJ store. On Monday, August 14, the person who does measuring and installation measured all of the windows for me (this is an independent contractor - so there was an additional charge for this, but well worth it). In the course of that process, we discussed a change to some of the windows in bedroom 2 and 3. Bedroom 2 has 2 single windows and 1 triple, while bedroom 3 has 2 single windows and 1 double. I had ordered cordless shades for the single windows in these bedrooms, but the fancy child-safe corded shades for the triple in bedroom 2 and the double in bedroom 3 due to their large size. As I discussed this further with the installer, I changed my mind and decided to replace the triple fancy corded with 3 single cordless and the double fancy corded with 2 single cordless. The installer made note of these changes. On Tuesday, August 15, I received a call from the store saying that he had received the changes and asking me for my approval as well as telling me that my total would be increasing by about $180 as a result. I agreed and was told that my order would be ready in 6 -10 days, which is what I have in my paperwork also. So far, so good. I heard nothing for a long time as 6 - 10 days came and passed. Nobody from the store contacted me as I saw later that they were supposed to do if the order were delayed according to their own paperwork. I tried calling the store multiple times, but couldn't get through because all of the sales personnel were busy with customers. Finally, after more than 2 weeks went by, I got through to the store and was told that they would have to call the factory. They called back to say that my order was delayed and would be in the store by Sunday, September 3. I still was not given any options, as described in their own paperwork if orders take more than 6 - 10 days. On Friday, September 1, I received notification that my blinds and shades were in the store. It then took several calls before I was able to reach anyone to pay my balance. At this point it had been 17 days, well above the 6 - 10 promised. In the meantime, my guests were severely inconvenienced by the lack of shades in the bedrooms. I paid my balance in full and the installer picked up the blinds for me and installed them on September 5. However, there was one major mistake. Although the triple shade with child safe pull had correctly been replaced with 3 individual cordless shades, the double shade with child safe pull had been replaced with 2 single shades with pulls. As this room will be occupied by children, this is unacceptable. Also, this was never ordered. It was not the original order, nor was it the replacement order. I could understand if it were one or the other, but it was neither. The store personnel were very unhelpful and failed to take any responsibility for the mistake nor for the long delay in receiving my order. They acted like I purposely ordered the single shades with pulls to avoid paying extra for the cordless. This is both insulting and ridiculous as all of the other shades were cordless. Their solution was to inconvenience me even more and tell me to take down the shades myself and return them to the store and they would send them to the factory to have them redone to be cordless and then I would have to wait for that to be done and then pick them up at the store again and then have to reinstall them again. Or I could ask the installer to do this for me, but they would not be responsible for any of his costs. Their only concession was that they would not charge me the $80 - $100 to make the corded shades cordless. Are you kidding me? What about my time, what about the delay in receiving the shades, what about breaking your own policies, what about it was your mistake not mine? This is far from a fair resolution and I think a lot of shade and blind buyers would be interested in both my experience and the total lack of a customer service focus by the store staff. Blinds To Go will never get my business again and I would encourage others to look elsewhere if they want a company which adheres to its own policies and has a customer service focus. read more

They will not stay up. Every night when I pull them down the whole unit falls and it takes multiple tries to get it back up again. The hardware involves a spring and a clip but it just doesn't work well. When I wrote the company they said there is no other hardware option. They also do not offer a refund. So I am stuck with very expensive blinds that repeatedly fall on me. Update: I have spent $120 on blinds with this company an have a blanket hanging from my window because I can not afford to spend anymore money but also never received a product that worked. read more

I am very disappointed with the vertical blinds I purchased online and the staff at the store where we picked them up in Rego Park. The staff could not or would not recommend a local cab company. The online sales person recommended a size that barely covers the opening of our sliding glass doors then implied that I gave her an incorrect measurement for a standard size door. I even questioned why the size she was recommending was shorter that the standard size available from other stores. When we went to install the new blinds we found them too short and narrow for the doors. Therefore, we will have to drill new holes to mount the rail and valance. Additionally, the cord for the door is on the left side of a door that opens on the right. When I complained, it was suggested that I buy a more expensive rail for the blinds. If I had known this, I would have only purchased the vanes and kept the old valance. Lesson learned. I hope you can learn from my very expensive mistake. read more

Since that day I was trying to get my windows measured by their referral Louis who after numerous calls to him I finally called back blinds to go and they gave me another name to call which I immediately called Brad and he came right away. The next day I went back to blinds to go to place my order. They did not honor my original quote and in fact the price was double. I asked to speak to a manager and he wasn't in. I then walked out. It was their fault that I didn't come right back to order as their installer never responded to my numerous calls. We entered excited to pick out new blinds for our apartment. That excitement quickly faded when we were not once approached by a salesperson. There was a random sign up sheet where we put our names not really knowing why or what it meant and then we wandered for a couple of minutes- giving the two salesmen a chance to at least greet us and let us know they'd be with us in a minute. Nothing. They looked right at us many times, but other than that we were ignored. We left agreeing to head down to the other location on the Island in hopes of better service there. There were three sales people, not one came near us finally after about 10 minutes I asked if someone could help me.. I should just have taken my Que at that point and left. They forgot to place my order, and when it was finally placed and the blinds put up, the track did not work. The Installer places another order and they got that one wrong as well. Now mind you not one person from the store called me, I got all my info from the installer. Now a month and half later still waiting for them to get it right. Either way, with her level of knowledge she should have been shadowing someone and definitely not responsible for full orders. Thank God the manager was there.
