I took two bites and threw the rest away because it tasted so bad. I was tempted to complain, but I didn't feel like it would make a difference or that anyone would actually help. That said, not everything was bad. The strawberry smoothie was delicious, the buffalo cauliflower was really good, and the short rib burrito was also a standout. My only qualm is that the portion is a little on the smaller side and I wish the pasta was cooked a little bit more (maybe 45-60s more). The pizza was perhaps the most disappointing. We got the diavola dolce pizza and was expecting a glazy hot honey but the honey was very watery and the pizza overall was lacking flavor. I also wish they were a bit more generous with their salami topping. The dough was good, but the entire pizza tasted very bland and more like a regular cheese pizza topped with a couple of salami and a dollop of ricotta. I suspect if she was a friend of the servers that was a host, and not the manager. As she didn't handle the situation like an established and competent manager. In the end, it may have been an off night for the kitchen and the staff-- perhaps the manager went to enjoy the World Cup watch parties and left the restaurant in hands that just couldn't match the demands of the evening. It was a Sunday night, and the vibe was on, with a filled restaurant. I enjoy the space, but I can't say I'd be delighted to experience what I had, not from a food or wine standpoint, but pure service. After $400- I expect better service. I get treated better at Sweetgreens, and that only costs me $25.
