Tiny coffee shop, but the KINGS of coffee in the BH area. There's almost always a line here (and for good reasons), but service is prompt so the wait is generally not too bad. There's no tables for sitting; all orders are take-out only to keep the lines moving. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and in a good mood. The interior is clean, warm, wood-accented, and minimalistic. They sell a few merch, including whole beans from their high-altitude source and Fellow products. They seriously know how to extract the perfect espresso here at Maru. Each cup, no matter which option you go with is balanced, silky and rich in flavor. 1. Espresso Con Panna (5/5) One of their signature drinks containing double espresso with cacao powder and their signature smooth, cream top. Lightly sweet, not bitter or acidic. It has a hint of tangy spice to it which I just loved. 2. Iced Breve Macchiato (5/5) A tiny, but mighty cup of double espresso poured over their signature velvety cream and milk. Aesthetically pleasing to look at, even more amazing to the tastebuds as the warm espresso plus the occasional coldness from the 1 large ice cube they place at the bottom of the cup. They also sell a few pastry items here such as croissants and matcha donut. I opted to try the Matcha donut, which was moist and has a spongy texture. It was not sweet and had a subtle matcha flavor. This place is small but mighty - can't think of another way to describe it. The storefront is tiny, if there's a line it will probably go out the door. The drinks were amazing - the cream top lived up to expectations, it had the right sweetness, and was perfectly creamy/smooth. It looked like they allow customizations, as the customer before us ordered extra cream top. It's also situated right next to the fountain courtyard in Beverly Hills, so there is a place to sit, relax and enjoy your coffee. Definitely want to come back! read more

Okay, so I really wanted to like this coffee spot. However, I felt it was highly overrated. I came on A Sunday afternoon, the line was not as long as usual, so I decided to try it out. As someone who was born and raised in LA and currently lives on the Westside, I have tried my fair share of coffee shops from the SFV to the city. Our family told us we must try this place, and recommended the iced breve machiato and the mocha latte. We decided to grab some espresso beans for the house, which were $36.... for coffee beans! The Iced Breve Macchiato w/ Whole Milk: 2.5/5 The Mocha w/ Oat: 3/5 The espresso beans were light, so not my favorite. I definitely like more of a dark roast flavor. This coffee shop here in Beverly Hills, called MARU ESPRESSO BAR is always packed, there's no day that I've passed here that there is no long line. I got intrigued, what's the Hype? I went inside and it's a very small area, so that could be the reason why there's always a long line, but maybe not 'coz it's still like a never ending line here every time we pass by. I lined up and tried their SIGNATURE COFFEE the CREAM TOP. Got my drink quickly since they have many employees making the drinks. So I finally tried it and the hype is real, I can taste the good quality of their coffee here. Parking is tough here, it's one of the busiest areas of Beverly Hills since there are plenty of restaurants nearby. But they do have a couple of Parking structures around, parking that offers valet parking, but mostly Street parking. read more

I LOOOVE this place soooo much! I always get the espresso con panna which is a shot of espresso with the cream of the panna cotta. All these pictures are the different times I've been there. Employees are really nice and friendly and will help you out. Line is always really long, can't sit there but still highly recommend! Place is a bit small. read more

This location is a cute little grab-and-go spot right in front of the Maybourne. It was my first time visiting, and I had a great experience. The barista at the register was incredibly friendly and took the time to walk me through the menu and offer drink recommendations. I ended up trying the Cream Top -- a bold iced coffee topped with a sweet cream foam inspired by an Einspänner. A great spot for a coffee on the go with excellent service. read more

Maybe I didn't order the right drink, but I thought my drink was ok. I got the cream top and the cream top is definitely delicious, but once the cream top is not there, that's when the drink starts to downfall. Friendly service. There was a line but to be honest if there wasn't a line, I probably wouldn't have found it so quickly. This place is small. The line moved fast. It was about twenty minutes in total - walking there (short distance), standing in line, ordering, getting the drinks and walking back to the car. Finding a parking spot was difficult, but I'm glad I finally got to try this place. read more

Maru Coffee Bar is a solid stop if you're in the area and want something strong and well-made. Street parking was surprisingly easy, and even though it was a bit busy, the wait wasn't long at all. The cashier wasn't the friendliest, but the baristas definitely made up for it--they clearly know what they're doing. The cream top was so good, and the coffee itself was bold and smooth. Just don't expect to hang out for long, there's no seating. Overall, clean aesthetic and quick in-and-out vibes. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in LA. I love all the workers there and I come there all the time and everyone's so nice and friendly to me. I pacifically asked for the main coffee espresso machine to make my coffee today and there was a very rude Asian lady working there when I asked her was my drink made with this machine and she just goes. I don't know. Shots are just sitting out when I pacifically asked the cashier to make it with that machine.!! I don't like how the Asian lady was talking down to me acting like i know nothing about coffee! And again all the other workers i love and are always so nice to me! In shocked that the lady would talk down to me like that!! I'll be back tomorrow and I'm gonna tell all the workers there how rude she was to me read more

Great coffee option in BH. I got the famed cream top (iced), which was tasty. The sesame pretzel croissant was possibly even better. Would try the vanilla bean flat white next time. They also just opened a location of Maru in NYC, so I'll have to check that out soon. 4.5 stars. read more

I've been to this coffee shop twice last month -- and that says a lot considering I live over 20 miles away! It's absolutely worth the drive. The coffee is top quality -- rich, smooth, and perfectly crafted every time. The cream top is fresh and complements the coffee so well. You can truly taste the care and attention in every cup. On top of that, the customer service is consistently friendly and welcoming. The staff makes you feel appreciated and remembered, which makes the whole experience even better. My routine is always an Iced Oat Milk Latte. I love the vibe of Maru Espresso Bar. It's not a sit and stay type place, more grab and go, and then can enjoy the walkable scenery around The Maybourne Hotel area. I do wish they would do a proper latte size and not a small cappuccino or flat white style size though. The iced latte feels like 8-10 oz world. This is Community Goods style sizing. It's delish, but it's so small. So it's not a regular coffee visit routine for me, but enjoy it every once in a while! read more

My sister and I recently stumbled upon this place on a trip to Beverly Hills and we loved it so much we went twice. The first time we went, she got a cream top and I got an iced vanilla bean flat white. We both agreed that my drink was better, and we were really impressed with the quality. We kept seeing people with small cups and were wondering that drink that was since so many people had it. Since it was so good, we decided to go back the next day. My sister got an iced vanilla bean flat white, and I got the elusive iced breve macchiato in the small cup. WOW the iced breve macchiato blew us away it was so amazing. One of the best coffee drinks we have ever had. The small size is perfect because it is so rich. If you come here, you need to get the iced breve macchiato for sure. read more

It can come hot or iced, and as the name suggests, it's a creamy sweetened foam that sits atop the coffee. I'm personally a big fan of vanilla, so opted for the vanilla bean flat white ($6.75). As far as quality goes, Maru has probably the best espresso I've ever consumed in my life. It's so smooth and the flavors are perfect. I find most places overheat their espresso or don't brew at all constant temperature causing the espresso to burn even a little. The espresso here is so delicious and worth standing in a long line for. The aesthetic for this location is minimalist which I love, there are a couple spots to sit down while you wait. The staff works pretty fast considering the demand they deal with as the line is constantly out the door and wrapped around the corner. This location has metered parking so be prepared for that. read more

One of the best coffees I've had in a while. I got the signature cream top and the ice breve macchiato. I definitely enjoyed the macchiato more and it tasted so good. Reminded me of coffee I've had in Korea. Definitely will be craving it and coming back here when I'm in the area. I came on a Sunday and there was a line out the door. It does move fast though. The staff makes the coffee as fast as possible as well. It's a small espresso bar so there's not much space for you to enjoy the coffee inside. Sadly this location didn't have matcha so I opted for their signature cream top- I'm so glad I did because it was amazing!! Simple and sweet! The cream top added a perfect level of sweetness. The cream top by itself is so good!! Took awhile for it to mix with my coffee so I was enjoying it by itself for a while. But mixed it is really good but who doesn't like sweetened heavy cream. The drink size is a 12 oz so not the biggest serving but price wise it wasn't a $7 cup. There is a structure next to it that is free for up to 2 hours. read more

Okay I wasn't expecting it to live up to the hype but... it did. The coffee is rich, smooth, and the iced vanilla latte I got was perfectly balanced with the espresso and milk. I only wish they did their famous cloud cream in a non dairy version because it looked great. They charge .75 for oat milk which feels tacky for a fancier cafe since nowadays many places don't upcharge and all the milks are pretty much the same price. No bells and whistles here - just a very thoughtfully made lattes. And lots of men packed behind the coffee bar working away! I'd definitely go back! read more

Maru Coffee has been in my bookmarks for a long time so I was really looking forward when I saw this cafe while being in the area. They didn't have any matcha latte though We ordered Vanilla Bean Flat White with extra milk on the side and Cream Top. The cream was so delicious. The coffee on my Cream Top wa very smooth. We definitely loved our drinks. We were so excited that we didn't get to take photos of our drinks. The queue was somewhat long when we got there. We were in line for 10 minutes and our drinks came in less than 5 minutes or so. There were only limited seats inside the cafe. read more

After working across the street and living a few minutes away I just learned about this place a few weeks ago. Sadly! Haha because I've come to love them. Amazing, bold and fresh espresso drinks. My favorite coffee shop. They haven't different location and this one is near rodeo dr. All their coffee drinks are amazing. Can't go wrong with it. Of course, with anything, it's also base on preference and taste buds...for me, I have never had a bad drink from them-even their matcha is quality. We got one of their cookie(pastry?) and it goes amazingly well with their coffee. The shop is small so there isn't much room for seating and don't expect a chat with their cashier or barista-they are busy. read more

This is my favorite espresso bar ever. They are known for their foam, the Foam Top drink. I came everyday and without a doubt will be back everyday the next time I'm in LA. They have THE best "queen amon" as how you pronounce it but I won't try to spell it. It's the same one that they sell at the well know grocery store in BH that starts with "E". Definitely a gem in the heart of Beverly Hills! I visited for the first time this afternoon with a family member and ordered a Vanilla Bean Flat White and a Cream Top. They both were delicious, had a strong coffee flavor and sweetness level was perfect for my liking. The barista at the register was super friendly and the rest of the staff were kind as well. It does get very crowded inside and the shop is pretty tiny, however there is a plentiful seating area around outside to lounge. read more

Maru Coffee in Beverly Hills has quickly become one of my favorite coffee spots in the area. It just opened on Canon Drive, right next to the famous hotel and across the street from Spago, and it is already easy to see why the place is usually busy. They open at 7:00 a.m., and I've learned that if I don't get there by about 7:05, the line can get very long. That alone says a lot. People know good coffee when they taste it, and Maru is serving some of the best coffee in Beverly Hills. I usually order a cortado and a latte with oat milk, and both are consistently excellent. The drinks are balanced, smooth, and made with the right amount of caffeine. You can tell the quality of the coffee is very high, and they really know how to make a proper espresso drink. Whether it's the cortado, the latte, or anything else on the menu, you really can't go wrong. The service has been very good, and even though the atmosphere may be a little more understated compared to some of the bigger-name coffee shops nearby, the actual coffee is superior. Maru is clearly focused on the product, and the final drink speaks for itself. The coffee tastes clean, rich, and thoughtfully made every time. Another thing I really appreciate is the pricing. For a coffee shop in Beverly Hills, especially in such a high-end area, the prices are very reasonable. You gotta check out this new espresso bar at the Maybourne hotel on Canon Dr. It's on street level and they're still in their soft opening phase, so the menu is a bit limited. But let me tell you, it's unlike their other locations in a really good way. If you're into espresso-based drinks, you've gotta try their Con Panna. That's what I recommend. They're really pushing the espresso game since it's called an "espresso bar." Trust me, it's a must-visit spot. read more

It's a free standing coffee shop. You can also grab a bakery item, if you're looking for a snack. There are three cute little paintings hanging on the wall. There are a handful of tables and chairs around the place, in case you want to enjoy your drink here. There was an extremely long line when I got here, so I did a little shopping prior. Luckily, the line dissipated. It's a rather tight space inside. The drinks are all listed on the wall behind the counter. They offer both coffee and tea, signature and seasonal drinks. Ooh, banana cream latte ($9). Seasonal. Yes, please. It was so good. My sister and I both ordered a large banana cream latte, whole milk, light ice. They top it off by throwing in a banana chip. It was rich and creamy, but not too sweet. Staff are friendly and efficient. They call your name when your drink is ready. I had trouble sleeping at night. Forgot I had caffeine way too late in the afternoon.

We love Breakroom!…read more My team and I come here at least once a week to get some drinks and fresh air. It's a great place to sit outside. On Thursdays there is a farmers market right here too! Their drinks are great, some popular ones for us are the tiramisu latte and the breakroom cold brew. The espresso tonic is also really fun! The sandwiches are also so good! We love the Italian, veggie, and tuna (when they have it). The staff are so friendly and patient with our sometimes very large group. Will definitely be back!
