    a box of fried chicken

A little confusing because you have to enter the door to Terracotta Boyz Xi'an Cuisine to pick up for Bliss Cafe. Taiwanese meat sauce on noodles was good. Plenty of meat and the noodles were the thick and wide kind. A little bit lacking on depth of flavor. The Taiwanese chicken nugget was also good in flavor but the packaging needs to have holes for ventilation because half of it was soggy already although we picked up on time. For $11.xx it was quite pricey for the amount of nuggets but Uber had a bogo.

    Wheat germ green milk tea

Came here with my partner and had their teriyaki fried rice, beef noodle soup combo, and chicken nuggets for only $4! I also got a wheat germ green milk tea. The food here is really good and affordable, and the portions are big. I really liked their teriyaki chicken fried rice! It has a lot of onions, but I surprisingly loved the addition. They were really sweet and not pungent at all. The wok hei flavour was really good--my partner commented on it a lot haha! The chicken was tender and flavourful. Overall loved it! The beef noodle soup was good as well--thick noodles, clear broth, lots of meat chunks, and some bok choy. The marinated egg was too hard boiled for me. This dish is not my preference, but delicious nonetheless. Really huge too for a "small" bowl! Great portion. The jasmine green tea that came with this combo was delicious. Flavour was there and it was perfectly sweetened for me. It tasted like it was sweetened with honey. The chicken nuggets were fried to tender perfection and it was really crispy. Not too crunchy for my soft mouth. The seasoning was perfect as well. Lots of pieces for only $4! A great appetizer to complement our meal. The only thing I didn't like was my wheat germ green milk tea. It felt almost flavourless (too much milk?) and the wheat germ didn't add as much flavour to the drink as I hoped it would. The service is slow, but still good. It's clean and quiet inside.

Not sure why the reviews are so low…read more This place is POPULAR. If possible make a reservation online. The parking situation is a bit crazy. Besides that the menu is a bit overwhelming in that it's like 50 pages long and everything looks good LOL. The beef noodle soup is GOOOD. The fishballs are tasty and the meat so tender. The shaved noodles aren't hand shaved which kinda sucks. We also got the popcorn chicken which was super crispy and tasty. The drink I ordered was also so good- wintermelon with aiyu jelly. Would highly recommend anyone who wants authentic Taiwanese food to visit here

They have an electronic waitlist system now - sign up on the screen inside. The menu was massive last time i was here, now its even bigger its kind of ridiculous. You are bound to find something you like. Food is consistent. All good, nothing blowing your mind but very solid. Their prices seemed to have gone up but their portions are enormous. A meal combo is too much food for one person. This time we ordered: mixed beef dry noodle - has a sichuan peppercorn spicy sauce with beef shank/tripe/tendon, side of soup with fish/meatballs and some veg. Solid 4/5 for both. beef hotpot - comes served on a little fuel burner with a side of scallion oil noodles and 2 veg sides. Also solid 4/5. A ton of food. TW popcorn chicken (salt pepper fried chicken) - good. well seasoned, juicy thigh chunks. Hot + sour soup - this was mediocre. lacking any depth of flavour. Not terrible, but nothing special. pea flower lemon passionfruit tea drink - average. This amount of food will easily feed 4. Our party of 2 took a lot home. Total bill with tax and tip was just under $100. note: credit card has a 2% surcharge. Service was just right for a place like this. They promptly took your order and brought you tea. Easy to flag them down but they didnt approach you beyond that. Everyone was nice. I would definitely keep coming back. Its an excellent casual "jack of all trades" Chinese/Taiwanese place.

What's appealing here is that their Instagram advertises daily specials so you can get some dishes for a great discount (like 40% off). We tried the braised combo (pork ear, pork intestines, fish cake), Taiwanese egg wrap, braised pork sauce rice with deep fried pork chop, and yam taro mochi balls. The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction. They ended up honoring the discount. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close. Sure it's fine no big deal, it was a lot of food.

It's been there for a while so starting to look a bit dated. Doing good business on a Saturday night, although we didn't have to wait for a table. We were not super hungry so just went for drinks and appetizers. They have a pretty sizable sweet drinks menu, with a lot of choices for toppings. I got the melon slush with half sugar. It was plenty sweet, and has the nice honeydew melon taste. For appetizers, we got the Taiwanese style chicken nuggets, and a mixed plate of braised meat and proteins. The chicken nuggets taste as expected, got good flavor, and was tender and not dry. For the braised plate, we got sliced pig ear, fish cake and sliced beef shank. I liked the flavors, and the beef shank was tender. Overall two drinks with two appetizer was like $43 before tips, so not expensive. Solid place to go for some inexpensive Taiwanese food and sweet drinks.

One of my guilty pleasure meals from here is their popcorn chicken, intestine soup noodle, and their Hokkaido milk tea. The popcorn chicken is always made fresh and food portions are generous at the price point offered. There's a reason why Bubble World still maintains a number of locations throughout the Lower Mainland and business is steady. Service is prompt and decent too.

Even cheaper meals combos are available for students. Once we ordered food, it took a pretty long time to come (at least half an hour), considering that there were only 3 total customers in the restaurant. However the food was very delicious when it did come. The sole waitress was pretty much on her phone at another table the entire time apart from serving the food. The food is very good though. I would definitely return again just for the fried chicken alone. The pork chop dish that we ordered was also delicious.
