    Taiwanese beef noodle soup
    Kyle T.

TLDR: Decent taiwanese food place in Burnaby. I agree with other reviews saying its a "late night style" place. Huge menu with different types of noodles and appetizers. Extremely busy when we went for early dinner on a Sunday. Food: We got 2 appetizers and 2 noodles. For us, we enjoyed mostly everything but the biggest let down was the broth in our beef noodle soup. It seemed a little bland and missing the depth of flavor I expected. The noodles, toppings, and appetizers were all great. Portions were very large. I do wish the pig ears were ~30% less oily but that can be personal opinion/taste. Service/Ambiance: I would not call this a high class place, expect fast and direct service. The staff also does not have great english but can get by as the menu has numbers (ex. A1, A2, etc.). Price: Prices for things felt a little high but can pass since the portions were quite large. My beef noodle was $20 and the pig ears were $17. Takeout containers was an additional 50 cents and there was a 2% fee on credit transactions Misc: The menu is HUGE, I mean over 100+ items. This can be a pro or a con, lots of variety but I based on our experience with the broth I'm wondering if anything really stands out

To note: 2% fee on credit cards and takeout boxes are 50 cents each. Hectic and small parking lot. Busy place so thought it was a green flag at first. HUGE menu (usually a red flag for me) - like 20 pages long 1. The crispy chicken was good, chicken was still juicy, batter a little thicker than I like. I would get again. 2. Pig ear has good flavor, mildly spicy, but way too much oil. 3. Beef noodle soup: beef shank was tender and flavorful, but the broth was bland and very elementary tasting. Lacking herbs and fragrance to give it depth. I wouldn't get beef noodle soups again. Not much service unless you track someone down. Overall, this place is okay if there's nothing else around, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

The few times I've been here, there is always a big line up to get a table. I tried their version of TanTan noodles. It's very different from what I'm normally used to eating. I'm used to the peanutty flavours and a thick soup base. The TanTan noodles here are more brothy and beefy with a lot of peppers. The noodles are cooked perfectly though. The ramen with the beef brisket is amazingly yummy. The restaurant is average in size. The parking lot is very tight. Most of the time you'll need to find street parking a block away

Traditional Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup was the best tasting soup I have ever had!

The best Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup in town! Generous portions of beef, bc it s so tender, the broth was very flavourful, and the noodles were freshly made. Service was friendly.

Googled and this Taiwanese restaurant came up. It's a small restaurant but a very busy one. Long lines outside on a Saturday but we joined waitlist and it didn't take long to get in. Service is quick yet efficient, very typical of Chinese restaurant. Menu has wide range of selection from congee to fried rice, noodle and noodle soups to hot pots and everything in between. It serves Asian breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nice place to have a fill of Asian comfort food. The space beside sells frozen food.

Omg this is hands down the best TW beef noodle place I've been to. It's so hard to find a good bowl of TW beef noodle in Vancouver but this one takes the top! Noodles are chewy, beef is perfectly tender... soup isn't too salty. The rice dishes are good too. I highly recommend this spot :)

They have an extensive menu with a lot of variety. Based on the menu, this appears to be Taiwanese-style beef noodle soup, as they offer items commonly found at Taiwanese night markets. The service was very fast, with the food ready in about five minutes. The noodle soup was served piping hot. The broth had a strong flavor without being too salty, and the noodles absorbed the flavor well, which I really enjoyed. The beef tendon melted in my mouth, though I personally prefer a bit more texture. The beef was a bit tough. I really enjoyed the crispy chicken bites; they were well-seasoned and juicy.

This was such great gem in the Vancouver area. The noodle dishes were amazing and they also had boba as well, which is always a nice option! Staff and service was spectacular as well. Such a great budget eats option.

Im a frequent to this restaurant most foods in here are good..: Excellent service but one of my visit the female crew almost zero english and it was kinda hard to place an order but in all fairness she did everything to understand me: The pyramid rice were good and very instagrammable.Presentation of foods? 10 out of 10. No soda in this store so you will end up ordering their drinks or just go for water. Cash and debit card only. Pretty loud in here maybe because all my visits the place were full house. Simple interior design, free parking shared with other restaurants in that block. Looks like they already need a washroom make over. I recommend this place to all..excellent and affordable cuisines Kudos!

I visited here last Thursday for dinner. My sister and I felt like having Taiwanese food as I felt curious of what this resto was like. The restaurant was nice and clean. Pretty big menu with variety. There was a late night specials as well. We ordered Tendon and Shank beef noodle ($17.75) with double iron plate (AAA beef steak with squid tentacles, $27.25). Food was excellent. Beef noodle had tender meats with tasty soup. Soup wasn't too salty it was not bad. Double iron plate was fantastic. AAA steak melted me my mouth like cheese. So yummy and soft. Squid tentacles were nicely done too. Mushroom tomato sauce was SO salty to go with it though. Please don't get this sauce. The taste reminded me of Hayashi Rice, it was salty and ketchuppy in taste. Food was rather pricy. However it was pretty good I couldn't stop eating. Double iron plate dish was super dreamy in my personal opinion. Not the kind of restaurant I can dine out often. Dining experience was pretty worth it. Besides we didn't wait too long for food to arrive. *Two thumbs up-* cash and debit only!

We order take out from here a lot but it was my first time eating in. Rumours say they're always super busy so I guess we were lucky to be seated shortly after we walked in. Everything here is super authentic, BEEF NOODLE SOUP and SHREDDED CHICKEN WITH MARINATED PORK RICE BOWL is a must get! TRADITIONAL RAILWAY BENTO is also super yummy but we passed on it this time. Really wanted to try the stinky tofu but sadly was sold out.

I was craving for a congee breakfast and found out they have many breakfast sets on their menu. I ordered via Uber app for pick up as the restaurant online ordering forced you to upgrade the drink to a large and I didn't want that. I had the century egg pork congee with the egg custard bun and cold soy milk. All three items hit the spot. The congee was one of the silkiest and smoothest I ever had. I think I am so used to those from T&T and Pricesmart and they cannot compare to the one here. The egg custard bun was still warm and the filling just flowed when I broke it into half. Yummy. The soy milk was just great to end the simple breakfast. I will definitely be back to try the other dishes.

https://www.instagram.com/vanleo.eatsfood1015/ Been to this one numerous times over the years , I love that they have a bubble tea happy hour between 3-5PM I believe - so don't forget to grab them drinks ! I would like to say try there beef noodles they are super tasty and great portions in my opinion - I did not grab the noodles this time around so no picture, however my old school traditional mom is a huge fan of the noodles here, so that should be saying something , since man they can be picky sometimes ! I've also had the Salty peppery nuggets and squid from here , both super amazing , on par with bubble world and such - The fried rice I had this time around was probably not the best - I really should of stuck with noodles , but had a craving for spam and rice - I found the fried rice cold on arrival , and way too salty - I feel like they failed to incorporate the natural saltiness of the luncheon meat , and added so much additional salt , that it became way to salty for me. Overall - for the noodles I'd fully suggest this one , crispy snacks? you bet ! However, drinks are hit and miss with sweetness levels , and the fried rice was a no go for me !

What's appealing here is that their Instagram advertises daily specials so you can get some dishes for a great discount (like 40% off). We tried the braised combo (pork ear, pork intestines, fish cake), Taiwanese egg wrap, braised pork sauce rice with deep fried pork chop, and yam taro mochi balls. The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction. They ended up honoring the discount. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close. Sure it's fine no big deal, it was a lot of food.

It's been there for a while so starting to look a bit dated. Doing good business on a Saturday night, although we didn't have to wait for a table. We were not super hungry so just went for drinks and appetizers. They have a pretty sizable sweet drinks menu, with a lot of choices for toppings. I got the melon slush with half sugar. It was plenty sweet, and has the nice honeydew melon taste. For appetizers, we got the Taiwanese style chicken nuggets, and a mixed plate of braised meat and proteins. The chicken nuggets taste as expected, got good flavor, and was tender and not dry. For the braised plate, we got sliced pig ear, fish cake and sliced beef shank. I liked the flavors, and the beef shank was tender. Overall two drinks with two appetizer was like $43 before tips, so not expensive. Solid place to go for some inexpensive Taiwanese food and sweet drinks.
