Bliss Coffee Lounge was recommended by an acquaintance and a few weeks later got the Yelp invite! Loved the vibes! Was in the area and had to get my caffeine fix! It was beautifully decorated for the holidays! Saw their holiday latte on Instagram and I had to try it! I purchased the Roasted & Toasted !! Loved the flavors: Roasted Chestnut Orgeat, Sage Infused Brown Butter, Toasted Spice, White Chocolate Nutty, Earthy, Velvety goodness!! On a cold winter's day! Got to meet Little Bliss too! So cute!! Definitely will stop by when I am in the area to try the latest lattes!

I'm still thinking about how good this coffee flight was from Bliss! Not only was the presentation STUNNING, but the coffees were all super flavorful & refreshing! This was their Take Me to Brazil Flight - insipired by popular flavors in brazil! It comes with a peanut butter latte, coconut latte, and a creamy mocha latte. I absolutely adored the peanut butter latte - it had such a great flavor without the peanut butter feeling too overpowering!

I love finding a local coffee shop with great coffee and special lattes. There's paid street parking, seating inside if you want to dine in, cute interior decor, and the service is good. It wasn't too busy when I went on the weekend and during the week. So far I've only tried a fruit loop latte (I think that's what it was called) --it was actually delicious and their mushroom cappuccino, which gave me the kick I needed without the jitters. I can't wait to try the other drinks on their menu and maybe even one of the baked goods.

Bliss is due an updated review after my recent experiences at the Coffee Lounge. Since I have been, the vanilla chai lattes -- both hot and cold -- have been consistently delicious. The lattes are creamy, perfectly spiced, and not too sweet. Before the winter menu is gone, definitely try the caramel brûlée latte! This is a sweet beverage with a crunchy top layer and the cutest presentation. I also really enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie. It came out warm and gooey in one of my recent experiences. However, last time I went, it was stale and must have been sitting in the case for too long. Besides that, the decor and service here have been on point as well. The baristas here are so sweet and I always have an easy time ordering.

A cute and quaint place my friend and I spent a few hours at to study. Both drinks were $7 for this size and cold foams which is like so unheard of these days lol but we got the iced banana cold foam matcha and latte. So yummy, and it wasn't the perfect balance between strong coffee or matcha with slight sweetness. I'm not a huge fan of overly sweet drinks in general so I was very pleased with how both came out. The music playlist was great too, either pop or throwbacks that weren't too crazy or loud for studying, I highly recommend!

Cute little coffee shop with plenty of seating! And a handful of food options including bakery items. We got the brigadeiro latte, a tasty and subtly chocolate latte with some kind chocolate syrup in it, it didn't really stand out as something I'd try again. Next we tried a mocktail, the bliss spritz, though good... it had A LOT of ginger giving a bit too much of a bite, perhaps a little more sparkling water would've helped. Overall the atmosphere is calm and dark with smooth music in the background. I'll probably come back to try other drinks sometime.

The best coffee shop in Somerville! Bliss is my favorite place to enjoy a coffee when I'm in the area. It's been a few years since I first stopped in and I have been going back ever since because of how consistently well made the drinks are. I've enjoyed everything I've tried from Bliss, but my absolute favorite is the downtown dulce--it's the perfect blend of caramel and espresso. The chai latte is another standout drink for me. There is a lot of seating inside, as well as tables outside during warmer months, so it never feels crowded. The Wi-Fi is quick and works great in both the front and back rooms of the cafe. For those reasons, Bliss doubles as a great place to sit and do work for a couple hours. In a word: visiting this coffee shop is pure Bliss!

I really wish I can give this cute little place a good review but I cannot. I went in for the first time and at first the young lady was nice until I asked her about the morning sweet combo special that consists of a muffin or bakery treat with a coffee, AFTER I had asked for a matcha latte, I thought of getting the combo as well... but she then goes "the combo doesn't consist of a matcha latte" and I said "okay no problem I'm just gonna get a raspberry bread thingy and matcha. She gets an attitude and starts breathing heavy and proceeds to ask me "so you DONT want a muffin you want the raspberry bread???" And I said yes kindly. She then switched my total from $9 and some change to $15!!! For a stale piece of bread and a matcha latte that definitely was NOT made with "love". Let's just say that. I then asked her where the rest room was and with her back turned "RIGHT TO THE LEFT LAST DOOR". Stand offish as hell. I just moved in the area and safe to say I won't be coming back here. UNLESS she is NOT working that day.

Bliss certainly lives up to its name. From its atmosphere to its drinks, to its baked goods- there is always a good reason to go to Bliss. I go to Bliss when I'm meeting up with a friend for a coffee or when I need to finish some work. Both occasions seem fit for a trip to Bliss. Bliss has a warm and cozy seating area which is able to accommodate a decent amount of people. The front of Bliss has a few couches for a casual conversation, and the middle section near the counter has tables where I typically pull out my laptop when I have work to finish but also want the ambiance of a bustling coffee shop. The back of Bliss includes a more solitary space perfect for an intimate conversation or a space to really minimize distractions and get lost in a personal project. There are a number of drinks I really enjoy at Bliss. My recent favorite is the eggnog latte- a perfect blend of espresso and eggnog without being blown away by excessive sweetness. Though, two staples I can always rely on are the downtown dulce and the cortado. Every time I order those I walk away with a smile. Though if you are in the mood for a chai latte or even a cold brew, I can assure you Bliss makes a solid chai latte and usually has a seasonal cold brew. This past autumn, I enjoyed the apple crisp cold brew. Each trip to Bliss I like to treat myself to some pão de queijo. Each order comes with 2, and every time I order the pão de queijo it is fresh and well worth it! When in Somerville, make sure to put Bliss on your must visit list!

I've given Bliss a 5 start but management needs to speak with it's staff about some housekeeping expectations which I'll cover at the end of this review. Our first trip to Somerset NJ on 6/18, a reco from a colleague who grew up in town and who's parents still live there. Found street parking just outside of Bliss and due to the extreme HOT temps (heat wave) we noticed Bliss and opted to go in to seek coverage from the oppressive temperatures. To our surprise, it was a very chill type of relaxing atmosphere with a very interesting small plate menu and healthy, tasty, and refreshing beverages. We started off with an empanada and quickly added another with a fruit filling and loved their passion fruit mocktail. Had overheard it's also an event space for performers. Very cool. Back to my housekeeping rules the management needs to instill in the staff... is common decency and respect. Not just respect to the customers, my horrific experience was more about common decency and respect to everyone (staff or customer). While waiting a very long time to finally be able to use the one gender-neutral restroom (no other restrooms), I went in, and low and behold, the previous occupant [an employee who helped us with our order from behind the counter] did not flush the toilet and boy it was ugly in there. I came right out to follow that person and remind them of the human decency and courtesy to flush. She looked astonished and said she did. If she did and it cleared out, I would not be describing this unfortunate and ugly part of my awesome food experience. She was also nasty when confronted; it was time for us to leave.

A favorite when I'm in the area. Good ambiance and decent coffee. I wish they had more of a food selection, but I'll keep going there with my laptop!

I have been wanting to try Bliss for the longest but with so much competition in the area, I just never got around to it. I'm so glad it came into the rotation this President's Day. First off, I love the peacock blue with the matching lounge chairs. It gives such a sexy, grown vibe. Second, I love the variety of drinks that they offer. The latte list is endless AND they have flights so you can sample three of the flavors that pique your desire. Third, they serve food. Hot food. Pancakes, sandwiches, cheesesteaks, etc. Or, if you fancy something light, they have a huge variety of pastries, muffins, cakes, bagel, etc. The ladies working were great. Informative and patient and suggested a few things. Opted for the blueberry streudel which was DELICIOUS and had a tiramisu latte to go with it. My friend that the latte flight of the lavender love, pistachio, and caramel creme brulee. Next time, I'm gonna get the flight. I'm gonna make it my goal to try all they flavors by Summertime. Hey, ya gotta have goals! The prices are Somerville prices and paid parking is a little iffy but otherwise, I love this place. Oh, and the bathroom--an oasis! Could use an update but still a great place.

I don't drink coffee at all, so I was excited to see they have a variety of non-coffee beverages. I got the strawberry coconut horchata and the chicken beirute, a Brazilian styled sandwich. The food and drinks were great, loved that it wasn't the typical American cafe choices. But for a cafe it is VERY expensive, the sandwich was $16 and specialty drinks were $7 each which is insanely pricey for a cafe, those are restaurant prices. The interior is trying to be trendy but I felt was slightly dated with the cat portraits.

Came here for a coffee and an apple danish. Had 2 Brazilian cheese puffs as well. This place not only has amazing coffee, but amazing food and the ambiance is unmatched. Most other coffee shops in the area as noisy...this place has a peaceful atmosphere. read more

Very cute coffee option, friendly staff and many coffee drink choices. Found my small dark roast coffee very expensive at $4, asked about discount on a second cup and no. But it was exactly how I like it. Found outside area to be dirty, tables had food on them, and trash under tables, up against the wall of the store. Staff again had great energy. Food looked good too, stuck with just coffee. read more

Very comfy inside. If you enjoy dim lighting and furniture as a work environment that is home like but isn't your home then this is the place. The dim lighting and comfortable environment made it so easy for me to work, in addition they play lowfi which is great for getting work done. I had an ice chai (sweet) and it was sooo good. I also had avocado toast which was pretty but I don't know if the avocados were fresh. It was pretty brown/green but it was still yummy I finished it. read more

Happened to see them listed on Yelp when I was looking for a new coffee shop in my area. The shop is very well decorated. With lots of space to lounge out either it be with friends or just yourself. They have outlets at every table including USB ports so you don't need to bring a charging block with you. The owner was kind enough to give me a tour of the place. They do everything in-house including roasting their own coffee beans. So you know they really care about bringing quality products to the customer. I had the woodblock mocha and a lemon cake. Both were served right to my table. (Granted I was the only one inside). Definitely a new go to spot for myself. read more

Not worth the money or the seeing the unpleasant workers here for the quality of the food they serve. I probably had the worst avocado test I had in my life for the twice the money of elsewhere. On top of it got the attitude from the person in the kitchen. The people who run this place better learn how to treat customers. read more

Just stopped by, apparently it just opened. It's well decorated, with relaxing music and zen quotes all over the walls. The ham and cheese croissant was pretty good, and the Ethiopian pour-over was delicious. I'll definitely be stopping by again. read more

Beware if you order delivery. I just received my Door Dash order and my avocado toast has a piece of hair in it. Clearly the staff is not wearing hairnets or pulling hair back to keep things sanitary. When I called Bliss Coffee a young woman by the name of Brenda answered. She claimed to be the manager but wasn't of much help at all. She offered a discount the next time I come in. Not even an "I'm sorry" just a "that's so strange....I'm not sure how that would happen." I asked to speak with the owner and was given a laundry list of excuses as to why he won't be able to speak with me today. "He comes in at 3 but we have open mic night at 6 so he'll be really busy." This is NOT what a customer wants to hear after almost eating someone's hair! I understand places like this hire young people but the owner should be more mindful of how they're handling issues in his absence. Very disappointing - will not patronize this business again! read more

I wouldn't think much of a small cafe but I ended up walking into a gorgeous, floral-themed shop. They provided a great variety of options for my family and I. I'd recommend this gourmet cafe for all ages. There is free WiFi, space to get computer work done, and the best food ever! I ordered the "Bliss Oats" and the strawberry smoothie! The smoothie came in a giant mason jar and consisted of all natural ingredients!! And the oatmeal.. oh my!! The largest bowl of oats ever! It was topped with an assortment of red berries and honey! So delicious! They serve excellent lattes! Most importantly, the service and atmosphere was as good as the food provided!! read more

Extremely expensive and overpriced. I ordered a caramel latte and toast with caramelized apples, goat cheese and drizzle of honey. After 25 minutes of waiting for my toast, I kindly asked what was taking so long. I could see them talking behind the counter and it was clear that they forgot to put in my order. 20 minutes later, I still did not have my toast. I complained and said I would like a refund. Of course at that moment, it happens to be ready. When I see the container, I am in disbelief that I paid $11 and waited 45 minutes for this small portion. Unfortunately, they were not too apologetic. I would definitely recommend lucid coffee or Starbucks because of this experience. read more

Very nice ambiance for a small coffee. I was ultimately disappointed with the food. Never have I gone to a place where they provided just one single toast for $14 , not okay. The flatbread was not a flat bread, it tasted like a warm frozen pizza with egg and bacon thrown on top. Again, for a small coffee, not a bad place. read more

I ordered the natural avocado toast for $10.95 (excluding tax) and may I say that I was.. underwhelmed. The photo attached is how it came and seriously, $10.95 for that?! It's 1 avocado ($2.10) a piece of bread ($3 / 12 slices of bread so $0.25) a serving of feta ($4.00 / 6 servings so $0.66) a drizzle of balsamic glaze ($5.00 / 13 servings is $0.38) so it comes to $3.39. I don't know if the "black lava sea salt" is what accounts for the $7.56 but I know the going rate for avocado toast at other places that has a lot more toppings is around $8.00. It just seems a little pricey for some cheese and avocado on bread. tldr: skip the overpriced toast read more

there is no A/C it's the middle of summer and 88 degrees outside. it took more than 10 minutes to make my drinks. if I wanted to go to the sauna I would. Coffee is pretty good tho! I'll give it that. read more

On a nice Saturday afternoon , they idea of coffee came to mind (when does it not, lol) as a quick lunch date with my significant being , we decided to meet at this new spot, we came to the door , and bam , so much people , we sat down , and took everything in , the place is so gorgeous, chic, and comfy it's like your home . Somerville's Main Street is prime real-estate for restaurants in the area. Main Street offers a substantial benefit to businesses by providing decent and consistent foot traffic, meaning that there is a potential customer pool always available. What this location also means though is that restaurants are expected to meet a high bar of quality and service that is established by fellow Main Street eateries. Main Street businesses need to stand out to succeed, and like any other business, must find a reliable customer base that will continue to visit and offer positive word-of-mouth marketing. Though Bliss Coffee Lounge is a "new kid on the block", it has certainly built itself a solid reputation for having amazing food, excellent service, and a picturesque space to meet that high standard. The space itself is small, but the first thing you notice when you walk into the cafe is that it is remarkably gorgeous. Instagram photoshoot vibes are accentuated by the both classy and casual decor and furniture of the interior. In other words, they use the limited space they have very effectively to draw in customers. The menu offers patrons a wide-range of food and drink options, all of which are delicious, eye-catching, and fresh. The menu design itself is worth making note of, as it is functionally very organized, while also being visually very fun. Good service, good products, and good vibes define Bliss Coffee Lounge. This is a place you can imagine hanging out in as a solo escape or as a group hangout spot. Bliss Coffee Lounge is definitely worth giving a try. read more

I originally learned about this place on tik tok so I had to try it out ! Parking is easy to find , there's a parking lot nearby within walking distance :) All the staff inside were super friendly and sweet , they explained everything to us since it was our first time . They made suggestions for our drinks and they were amazing !! The owner was also very attentive and nice :) they brought the drinks and food out to us. It's a very cute and comfy place and there's good social distancing which I really appreciated:) I will definitely be coming back ! Very impressed with the food and drinks as well read more

Stopped by this morning and it was our first time in! First of all, we loved the atmosphere inside and how cute it was. My boyfriend and I both ordered iced vanilla lattes and they did not disappoint! 5/5 in taste, creaminess, and presentation. My one regret is that I wasn't aware beforehand of how delicious their food menu looked and had already eaten breakfast before. Next time I will definitely come hungry! Worst coffee i've ever had, i'm from North Carolina and I got coffee and some smoothies here today and left extremely disappointed. This coffee shop has good reviews so I trusted it and i was utterly dissatisfied. My coffee had so much milk that I questioned whether or not it had any coffee in it. The smoothies were almost juice consistency. Read reviews before you make the same mistake i did. read more

Visiting for a late breakfast/early lunch with our energetic toddler, we were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming and cozy ambiance, and the spacious interior. I enjoyed an iced Strawberry Cheesecake Latte that was perfectly refreshing, paired with a Hot Honey Breakfast Toast loaded with bacon, avocado, cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, and a delightful drizzle of hot honey. Our toddler picked at some French toast topped with an abundance of fresh berries, which was a hit. I genuinely wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the experience didn't meet even basic expectations. There were missing ingredients for my drink, which wasn't communicated ahead of time. When I asked about it, there was no apology or offer to replace it. After ordering food, we waited over 20 minutes and ultimately had to leave due to time constraints. That's going to be my pick next time ! The girl at the counter was very sweet . While she was not Italian herself she was well versed in all things in the shop. Service can be slow as she manages solo so be prepared to wait a bit . Secondly , there is not much room inside as it's narrow with three 2 seaters high stools But given all this , anyone who has tasted and loves the real deal Italian gelato must try it here .

The atmosphere is bright yet cozy, they have plenty of books and a lot of room to catch up with friends or settle in for some work. This time around, we tried the Coco Cloud Matcha. If you enjoy fun and funky beverages, this is a must; it's a blend of coconut water and matcha that somehow tastes sweet and milky while remaining both rich and refreshing. I'm not sure how they pull it off, but I'm obsessed! If you prefer a more traditional option, the Strawberry Matcha is a decadent choice, I love that you can actually taste the fresh strawberry compote. We also had the Tres Leches Coffee, which featured a perfect balance of creaminess and bold espresso notes. We ordered it hot this time, and while I personally find it ideal iced, it's wonderful that it works so well both ways. For treats, we chose the Dulce de Leche cake. While the sponge wasn't quite as moist as I expected, the overall flavor was superb, especially with the addition of the meringue. To balance the sweetness with something salty, we added a savory spinach and feta pastry. Definitely ask for it to be heated for the best experience!Not pictured, but equally noteworthy, were the empanadas. They offer both beef and chicken, served with a delicious green cilantro sauce. The baristas were very friendly and they knew what drinks to recommend. The atmosphere was cozy and allowed people to work on their laptops while enjoying their coffee. They offer a year-round menu along with seasonal specials; however, it seems there's a small gap during menu transitions, so I'd recommend calling ahead to see what's available before your visit. I missed the chance to try their seasonal menu, but I opted for a Mocha Latte, a Vanilla Bean Latte, and a Honey Drop Latte. The Mocha was definitely the favorite! They also have a nice variety of pastries, as well as some grab-and-go fruits and snacks. One small tip: make sure to scan the wall for the food menu. It isn't posted on the main board or at the counter, so we actually missed it at first since it was toward the back wall. The pastries are at the front so we ended up getting a spinach and feta pastry. Overall, it's a solid spot to check out if you're in the area!
