    Vegetable biryani.
    Rose Q.

Had a craving for Indian food ever since I became vegetarian. Came here for vegetable biryani and yogurt salad. The biryani was a bit spicier than I liked but its was ok.. I liked the mango lassi. It was like mango cake as a drink. I didn't like the yogurt salad.. It was a bit too weird for my taste. The biryani was fragrant and it had potatoes and cilantro. I liked how the biryani came in a large portion given the price. Overall it was decent..

This gem is hidden in the hustle bustle of Legacy West Food Hall. I've had several meals here, most recently chicken curry. This is a generous portion of chicken curry with depths of flavor. I especially enjoyed the vibrant cardamom flavor. Also had a side of perfect fries. Don't pass this place by, the food is made fresh to order and they have the seasoning is just right.

Chicken Tikka - everything fell out immediately when I picked it up

I was excited to try this place because it was such a cool concept. I was especially impressed to see them toast each piece of naan freshly in front of you. I was expected a ton of flavor and spices in a nice to-go package. However, it honestly tasted like a bland chipotle more than anything. I ordered the Char Grilled Chicken Tikka, which ended up being overly saucy and sweet. Plus, everything feel out of the naan wrap very quickly since they cut the wrap in half. I would definitely not consider this place anywhere close to authentic Indian food--the chicken tikka tasted more like teriyaki chicken than anything, in my opinion. I will not be back.

We have tried the Blist'r on one of our firend's recommendations but we were quiet disappointed by their wrap We took grilled chicken naan wrap and it was nothing as we were told by our friends. First their chicken in wrap was cold and it lacks the flavours. Chicken was tasteless and little bit undercooked as well. The wrap was more like rumali roti rather than naan. and it was not even warmed and just wrapped and given to us. The wrap looks like a tikka gravy with rice wrapped in tortilla. The most concerned area was their service, the server was looks like he was forced to do the job and was preparing our order unhappily. I amnot going to coma again and not even to try any other their dishes .

It's really just okay. I always find myself coming back here when I'm in Legacy Food Hall because I crave Indian food, but it's just mediocre. The chicken tikka masala wrap is pretty bland and the chicken is usually dry. It's a good sized portion, but it desperately needs more flavor.

Chicken tikka masala wrap that just tasted like a normal chicken wrap

If you love Indian food and are coming for Indian flavors then I'd recommend skipping this place. There was not enough flavor and I ordered the tikka masala wrap and it just tasted like a chicken wrap. It wasn't bad but not what I was wanting. I also don't know how there's only two glowing reviews because when I checked this place out a few weeks ago it had terrible reviews so I put off trying it. I also question the legitimacy of those two reviews as those yelpers have almost no activity on Yelp like less than two digit number of friends, reviews etc. But they also could be new to Yelp so I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that's the case. The tikka masala wrap was not flavored enough and although it didn't taste bad it just didn't taste like an Indian themed wrap. It also wasn't wrapped tightly enough so when I picked it up it spilled everywhere. Good thing I also ordered from other places and had a fork with me. The place itself had so much junk everywhere though. When I got into the line which was all of just me, there were boxes and stuff blocked the menu on the back wall. I was confused at if that was actually where the line forms or if I had managed to cross over into employee only territory. I was told that it was the line The staff were nice and fast to service but I'll likely not be back. Which is such a shame because I LOVE Indian food and am always looking for more options. Good concept, poor execution.

One of the worst Indian food I had .. ever!!

You call this Indian food!? I wish I can just write that but Yelp will not let me post a simple review. I waited and anticipated because i was really craving for Indian food. The flavor, the spices, the uniqueness that's in Indian food got me loving it. So i ordered chicken tikka masala bowl - I know this isn't really "Indian" it's more British but it's one of everyone's favorite. I wish they had more varieties - maybe vindaloo, or korma? Just a thought. Picture really do the justice - I spent over $14 and got something kid would be full off of - maybe not they would need more food. They were so stingy on the amount of food they gave to customer but also the food lacked on flavor. There was no spice and not even a small amount of heat at all. yea I get it this dish isn't suppose to be spicy but it was very bland. I sure was very disappointed. this place is worst than Masala Wok and Masala Wok is like fast food Indian food and I actually enjoy that place if I need something quick . No I will not be back and I will not recommend my friends or family.. Stay away from stingy, low quality and flavorless Indian food - so called Indian food.

It was timed well and love that we got to enjoy a bit of each region. We will definitely come back with family and then would also love to try the à la carte menu. The lamb dish was my absolute fave. Service was good BUT, this deducted one star. We ordered a bottle of champagne and it was kept away from us so we couldn't reach it. Normally that's not an issue however every time we needed it refilled no one was available to refill it and we had to flag someone down. The other option was getting up and getting it myself but that would've been awkward and probably disruptive. When the total is coming out to a total of $600, I do expect the service to be exceptional, not just good. Also - while it's so clear that the chef has a genuine love for this restaurant and his vision, having him speak in between each course was a bit disruptive to the dining experience. Every time my husband and I would be having a conversation the chef would stand up and give a speech about the inspiration behind the dish and how to eat it. Again, appreciate the passion but this was too much. I would recommend one speech at the beginning and then giving a menu upon being seated and including 1-2 lines as a description with each dish that would capture this information. Overall none of this would make me not come back, but definitely some things that would've made the experience better.

The curry was creamy and flavorful without being too heavy, which is perfect when you still have the rest of the workday ahead of you. And the naan? I'll start by saying this, I'm not casually into Indian food. I'm an Indian food aficionado. My…read morebusiness partner is Indian, and we are constantly trying new Indian restaurants. If you really know Indian food, you know there are levels to this. Most places serve what I lovingly call Campbell's Soup Tikka Masala. Super sweet, neon red, one note, wrong color, wrong consistency. Basically tomato soup with sugar and turmeric pretending to be a masala. It fills you up, but it doesn't make you pause and savor anything. Spice Grove Indian Cuisine is not that place. This is the real deal. The flavors are layered, balanced, and clearly cooked with intention. Not overly sweet, not dumbed down, just full of garlic, spice, depth, and that unmistakable "this was done right" feeling you get when Indian food is executed properly. We ordered a spread, saag, tikka masala, butter chicken, korma, vindaloo, garlic naan, and honestly there wasn't a weak dish on the table. Everything had the right color, the right texture, and the right punch of flavor. This is food you slow down for. I won't say this is the single best Indian food I've ever had, I reserve that for a few heavy hitters like Dishoom and Brigadiers in London and Chola in New York City. But if those are 10s, this is a very solid 8.5, and that is high praise. They're busy for a reason. You cannot go wrong here. If you love Indian food, or want to understand why people love Indian food, just go. You'll leave happy and probably already planning your next visit.

Some Desi restaurants refuse to tone down the spice level, even if you request them to do so. This place however toned down the spice level for my Dad and I to be able to fully enjoy our food. What we ordered: - Plain Dosa with Mutton Curry: this was my Dad's first time eating Dosa and let's just say he almost hoovered it down. The Dosa was perfectly crispy, the Mutton Curry was flavorful, the meat was tender and juicy, and the chutneys were a perfect pairing for the crispy dosa. - Ambur Chicken Biryani : perfectly spiced, the chicken was tender, portion size was huge (enough to easily feed two people) Rating: 10 out of 10 Customer Service: they were very nice and checked up on us regularly without being a pest. I have to warn fellow ladies under no circumstances to use the bathroom in this location for two reasons: The bathroom has multiple stalls but is not marked for either gender, and the main door can't be locked from inside making it accessible for male and female individuals at the same time. What I noticed in one of the stalls was a sensor flush that was completely out of the wall with wires exposed but still connected, yet the button did nothing and conveniently the unit was placed in a way facing the toilet bowl. An exposed electronic unit like that can be tampered with by any individual specially if the bathroom is accessible by both male and female. You can guess the rest of it yourself. Back to the kitchen, I had ordered paneer biryani along with Irani chai, before using the bathroom, the food took about 30 minutes to arrive, and I was served Pulao instead of Biryani. Even after asking the staff, they firmly said no that's Biryani. If you are non-Indian and don't want your intelligence to be insulted do not visit this restaurant. Once I received my food one of the staff told me the chai will arrive in 2 minutes. Well you guessed it right, I never got my chai. Even though the restaurant is open until 11:30 pm, the staff stop serving chai somewhere between 10-10:30 and even though they had an order in place, they failed to communicate effectively to deliver what was on the order. I finished eating and before leaving I wanted to wash my hand but since the store closes an hour before the restaurant, the bathroom is inaccessible and there's no hand washing station in the restaurant itself, so I used the only two pieces of napkin that were available in the restaurant. Food was tasty but wasn't what I ordered, over all the experience in general was so bad I wouldn't return, nor would recommend this place to anyone.
