Two words, MIND BLOWING, describe this place perfectly! We stopped by at on off time around 4pm (so…read morenot really lunch or dinner), so the place was a bit empty, but the staff was still amazing! They were very welcoming and accommodating. We tried their thali, so we could try a bit of all of dishes. They were so kind they let us make substitutions for the thali so we could try exactly what we wanted. With the very generous Thali offer that lets you mix and match as you please, you get any biryani, curry, tandoor item and naan of your choice!! I'm SHOOK at how nice of a deal it is! Most thali's have preselected items so the fact that you can choose exactly the items you want is truly a unique and special thing about this restaurant! We ordered the Karachi chicken biryani since it's their special, garlic naan, tandoor chicken and a lamb curry! It took about 15-20 minutes to get our food but it was worth the wait. We ordered to-go, however, once it arrived, the smell of the food was too good to resist so we just got a table to eat there. They provided bottled water as well. The food tasted home cooked and very very flavorful! I HIGHLY recommend this place when you are in the mood for some good biryani or chicken/lamb dishes! Everything is also Halal in case you only eat Halal! I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Dallas.

This place was okay! The food is pretty good, but it was a ghost town and service was slow. It was also one of the most affordable places we went to.

I give them the order number. They can't find it. Then they find it with the confirmation number, and say it's $0 without any details on their side. The order was put in 30 minutes before the promised time and 10 minutes passed the time. And you do not call the customer to let them know there is an issue? This is basic customer service skills. I say I am hungry and would just like them to get started on the order and they can figure out the $ in the meanwhile. I even show her the transaction on my credit card. She's says it's "pending transaction" Every transaction is pending the first 2-3 days. She was about to charge me again and I tell her I do not want to be double charged. She goes in the back and figures it out. Does not apologize for the inconvenience. Does not try to make it right for us. Will not be eating here again. I am not surprised this place is empty on multiple occasions I have come. For the business owner, take this as feedback. Food is hit and miss

One took 50 minutes and most recent took longer than an hour (we only ordered two dishes each time). While we like the combo plates, it's only meat. It screams for sauces, rice, maybe some veggies for relief from the meat-fest. Had items missing from orders. Calls to the restaurant about any concerns were basically sidestepped and we felt disregarded. Definitely out of the rotation for any future considerations.

When the waitress finally came over, she just stood by the register and asked, "Did you ring the bell?" still no greeting. We asked a few questions about the difference between dahi puri and pani puri, since we don't typically eat North Indian food. The manager/owner came over to answer, but seemed annoyed that we'd asked. We ordered two appetizers, an entree, and a chai. Everything came out late. When the entree (beef nihari) finally arrived, the plate was cold. I tried the gravy with the naan room temperature at best. For $16.99 (?), the dish had one piece of beef and a large bone with what I assumed was marrow. When I tried to spoon it out, it looked frozen or congealed, and touching it confirmed it was cold. We rang the bell again, since the entire staff was in the kitchen and no one was watching the guest area. When the owner came over, I asked if the dish was supposed to be served cold. She got defensive and immediately said it had been "boiled." I told her we wouldn't be eating it and asked if she'd like to touch the marrow and gravy herself to see. Her response was, "What am I supposed to do?" She took the plate away, said she'd warm it up, and bring it back. I said no we weren't going to eat it at that point. She offered to credit the card but kept implying we'd been unhappy from the start. For asking the difference between, dahi puri and pani puri. She expects us to not be unhappy after all, the entree came late, the food was cold, chai was cold and the attitude the entire time was unpleasant. We declined the credit offer, when we heard her talk about us out loud in the kitchen, we decided to walk out without any credit and still paid the service fee and the total cost of our nasty food. On top of all that: you have to order at the cashier yourself, they still charge a service fee for a party of three, and then the tablet prompts you for a tip. Haha....THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! They spend their effort on decorations and forgot providing customer service and food quality. HORRIBLE PLACE, DO NOT GO AND WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Not returning.

The curry was creamy and flavorful without being too heavy, which is perfect when you still have the rest of the workday ahead of you. And the naan? Soft, warm, and fresh... the kind that just completes the meal. The portions are generous, so you get great value for lunch. It's definitely more satisfying than the typical quick-grab options around the area. And the dining area is clean, casual, and comfortable enough to actually enjoy your break instead of rushing through a meal. Plano has a lot of Desi food options, but for a weekday lunch that delivers real taste and isn't rushed or sloppy, O'Desi Aroma stands out.

The chicken seemed to be dark meat, but it was high quality. The sauce was flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Basmati rice was perfectly cooked. The naan was thinner than most and just a bit crispy, but good. My mango lassi was enjoyable as well. Also of note - portions were generous. Counter service was professional and knowledgeable when I ordered, and they checked in during my meal to make sure everything was good. The atmosphere was pleasant - modern and clean. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a modern, casual Indian restaurant.
