Cute. Not much to choose from. I wasn't about to pay over $12.00 for a small box of cereal though.

The deli here is superior, we always buy deli sandwiches and head to the beach for a picnic lunch.

On a weekly basis, this is where I do the bulk of my grocery shopping. For the most part, this…read moreplace is fine. In general, I can find anything I need over here, as long as you stay within the realms of western cooking. So, what that entails I can pork loins for a roast. I can find brisket, I can find chuck, I can find...................really thin cuts of ribeye. Like...really really thin. Like, so thin that I could probably cook it medium rare by waving it above my computer case once or twice. Ok, sorry, I digress. If you want to make a ragu sauce, you can find everything that you need here. An alfredo sauce? Yup, that too. Beef stew? Go for it! It also has all the chicken and spices you'd need to make a fried chicken. It does have an international section, but it's..............not impressive. I mean, sure, there's some items, but you can't make a proper anything, tbh. Miso soup? We got half of what you need! Ramen? Uhhh, we got instant. Also have Ramune and Calpis for the weebs. That said, they do have panko if you want to make a katsu. They do have a pretty good produce section. Like, decent selection of fruits that are in season. Plenty of bell peppers, red, orange, yellow, and green. I can usually get jalapenos and habaneros here, although if you're looking for other types of chili peppers, it can be hit or miss. And the habaneros are sometimes still green. No real produce for Asian cooking here (except for shiitake mushrooms), so you won't find anything like burdock root or daikon...maybe bok choy or kabocha every so often. The spice section is pretty nice. Good, wide selection. Most of them are in pretty small containers, though. So if you need anything other than pre-ground cassia (I refuse to call that stuff cinnamon) in a large quantities, you might be out of luck. But...because the spices are in small containers, it's great for sampling. Most of the time when I come here, I like to grab a spice I haven't used before, haven't used in a long time, or haven't learned how to use properly.

I absolutely love Belmont and rave about it to people, it's kind of become a destination to me…read morewhenever I'm in the area. Their selection of prepared foods, including vegetarian friendly ones, is massive, and I often get a bunch on "lazy weeks" and they are such a big help with meal planning. Their fresh desserts and breads are amazing, I always get their mini bagels. I shopped the last hour of the day on a weekday most recently to avoid the usual crowds since the aisles can get tight, but almost everything was gone except cinnamon Raisin bagels (for obviously reasons lol). I was sad to see the selection so low, but I guess these are hot items and sell out earlier in the day?? I had no idea but will plan around this next time. They have a lot of interesting dairy free and vegan options in the dairy section that I don't see elsewhere, or that I saw at Belmont years before I saw in other places - they are ahead of the times! Some items here will run you $1-$2 more than they would in another grocery store though, so in the future I think I will stick to specialty items I can only find here, and will drag myself to another grocery store for my basics, because the upcharge here is a little nuts. A frozen bag of broccoli florets was at least twice if not triple the price it would be at another store, and it was a basic brand I'd never even heard of. I do love their natural self care section and what I'll call the "items perfect for gifting" section as soon as you walk through the door - I always have to smell the local lavender. There are a ton of unique sections and offerings here that make the upcharge on other items kindaaaaa worth it (if I don't think about it for too long). All in all I'm a huge fan and will continue to look forward to future trips here! A couple small areas of improvement though: - Something about their prepared foods makes them seem to go bad pretty quickly, like within 3 days - the oils just go rancid on certain things, or they start tasting off. I know prepared items don't have a long shelf life in general, and I don't know what it is about these specifically, but they seem to turn quicker than options from other places - Service is typically pretty helpful when checking out, but on my last visit, the cashier and bagger didn't even greet me and were too busy talking and laughing with each other to even really acknowledge me. I got home and realized the instant coupon on something I bought wasn't even scanned, which was annoying because that was a big reason I bought that item specifically, and it's RIGHT THERE - isn't that cashier 101 to scan the instant coupons??

We are a 504(3c) organization and the local market gave us a 20% discount on the flowers, which was much appreciated. The flowers were beautiful and we received many complements on the tablescape. A local market that supports it's community is much appreciated in this day and age.

Living in such a wealthy area on Long Island you would think our grocery stores would be top of the line. That is farthest from the truth. I have been to better grocery stores in much lower income neighborhoods than the ones we have in the Hamptons. I particularly had enough tonight and could not keep this bottled up. I had a late night craving for the white cheddar Cheetos puffs. Every grocery store but the one in my town carries them. I don't ever eat junk food, but I had a desperate craving tonight. They have let me down. I hate that there is mostly self check out now. It is cold and soulless compared to the relationships you build with the people in front of you. My family and I miss the old staff... they were wonderful. Do better Montauk IGA. Bring back normal checkouts instead of this computer BS. Two self check outs stations were enough. Do better on the inventory.
