    CRAB RANGOON POTSTICKERS

Food was very good! The Night king ramen was a bit too spicy for me so hubby and I traded. He got the Dude incredible with no spice. Potstickers great! Might try more of the sushi next time. I can't recall the name of the drink but it was peach and was strong! We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table on a beautiful Friday night. Our server was friendly and helpful. Fun lively place! Will visit again.

Blockhead is a cool find in the little city of Valparaiso. We were staying nearby after a visit to the Indiana Dunes, and we were searching for decent sushi that wouldn't require a drive into Chicago. Blockhead definitely delivered on the food and the vibes. It was busy when we arrived, but we were still able to grab a table for two on the patio. The host didn't seem too friendly, but our waitress made up for that with quick service and solid recommendations. Although this is a brewery, the cocktail menu had so many fun options to choose from, so I opted for the mango sticky rice cocktail (I forget the exact name). It was delicious! My husband ordered the Two Suns of Tatooine, which wasn't his favorite initially, but had a better taste after sitting for a while. For dinner, we tried a bit of everything! The Yuzu Butter Wings had a unique, craveable flavor, although the wings themselves were a bit fatty. The Crab Rangoon Potstickers were stuffed with real crab and just the right amount of cream cheese. If you like a classic crab rangoon, I think you'll really enjoy Blockhead's twist on it. We also split a few sushi rolls, which hit the spot! The Spicy Crunchy Tuna was my favorite, and my husband loved the Krustee Crab. Finally, we shared a bowl of the Night King ramen noodles. These were full of spice, very saucy, and topped with tasty short rib and an egg. If you're in the area and looking for a fun fusion dinner, this is the spot!

    YAKISOBA with short ribs

Wait time in a Friday night wasn't as long as we were quoted, which was nice. Service was great, very friendly and helpful with suggestions as it was my first time. We started with cocktails; which were delightful and strong. We split a sushi roll which was made with crab and shrimp, forgot the name- something with a cowboy. Pretty tasty and fresh. My yakisoba was perfect. Noodles were on point and super saucy. In fact, they could've easily cut the sauce in half and I would've been happy. The short ribs were so fall apart tender. Highly recommend. This place is loud and music was perfection. Love the art and ambience.

Bao bun. I already ate one. Very delicious

Great food and beer. I was surprised at the Asian fusion menu. They have sushi, noodles, bao buns, etc. The bao buns are huge, more like a taco. The noodle bowls are awesome. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was prompt and friendly. Prices are reasonable.

Mon Calamari sushi roll and it's the great pumpkin beer

Came here for lunch. Not too many people here around 11:30am. The lady at the bar took my order. I started off with the It's the Great Pumpkin beer. It was very good. Has a little bit of spice and has a beautiful orange/amber color. I also ordered their special sushi roll Mon Calamari and the truffle fries. Both were very good! The fries were crispy. The sushi had a nice/bright sauce and had small fried calamari pieces on top. Overall, and excellent experience! This might be my new favorite spot.

Such a cool place and very nice bartenders. Also, amazing prices especially for how amazing the food and drinks were. Def recommend!

Their winter no nutz chocolate coconut porter is out of this world! Was introduced to this amazing brewery at my local Purdue campus AJSs Burgers via the incredible porter, recently dropped in the real homestead for a sample and four pack of bitter ales which really round out a variety of quality skills this place can brew up. It's a neat ambience, friendly staff, and plenty of parking in the top tier of Valparaiso downtown. Didn't get to the food but can see from other reviews it matches the beverages, can easily recommend!

This is the first time I've tried Blockhead as I'm not from the area! I sat at the bar with a friend and had great service! Loved my beer, and the restaurant was very lively! I wasn't expecting an Asian fusion menu, but I'd love come back and try the sushi of the month or drunken noodles!

Bao sandwiches and Drunken Noodles with pork belly
    B G.

I ordered the Bao sandwiches with buffalo cauliflower and the Drunken Noodles with Pork Belly. They both were very good. I paid $3 extra for the pork belly to be added to the noodles. I wasn't disappointed with the amount of pork belly that was added.

The ambience is really cute, with plenty of seating and some fun artwork on the walls that gives the place a nice atmosphere. We ordered a beer flight, and I really enjoyed one of their sours, which was definitely a highlight for me. Unfortunately, the food was a different story. We ordered a few things and honestly weren't big fans of any of it. Even though the food wasn't really for us, we still enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer, so I'm giving Burnham Brewing . I'd definitely come back for the drinks and atmosphere, but I'd probably try something different food-wise next time!

It came with three different sauces: beer-infused mustard, tangy barbecue and creamy horseradish. I could have just sat here and ate charred pork and drank beer and I would have been happy. We also got a Caesar salad, which was OK but would have been a bit better if it came dressed -- the dressing came on the side. The wedge salad was good but was less of a wedge and more of a regular salad. Fenwick Farms has a kids menu, which features things like cheeseburgers, buttered noodles, chicken strips and other kid-friendly foods. Each kids meal comes with a side and a dessert (ice cream sundae), although we didn't get our ice cream, but it was fine because my kids didn't need anymore sugar that day. Speaking of kids: They have free arcade games to play! My kids played Pac-Man and NBA Jam while we waited for our food. The Fenwick Farms Brewing Co. beer is made right here at the brewery, and this is the first and only craft brewery in Rensselaer. They have 30 different beers on tap (most their own, some guest beers), and they offer flights. Indiana knows how to do craft beer, and FFBC is another great example of great beer.

Visiting the brewery I was very, very impressed with several of their beers, and the friendliness of staff. I purchased multiple cans to have over our continued vacation. A year, maybe two after that we were in the area and again went to the brewery. My favorite beer wasn't ready yet, so I settled for some of the others. Well, a year or so after that, knowing we were going to be in the area, I sent an email asking if a certain beer would be available. Crickets. No response. The brewery is out of the way from where we stay so I didn't want to make the trip if the beer wasn't available. Ok, so we are in the area again this week, I looked at the operating hours online and saw they are open on Mondays at 3:00. My wife and I make the drive out and arrive at 3:30. Closed. And the sign on the door says they are open at 3:00. I called their phone and got the answering machine. I asked them to give me a call and let me know when they would be opening. I figured we could run some errands nearby and return. No return call. Westwind is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays so I thought maybe I would hear from them on Thursday. Well I didn't. I know that our purchases are minuscule in comparison to what a business needs to survive, but common courtesy and customer service should be at the forefront of any business. Bob McDonnell
