They had everything from cookies, baklavas, and cakes! It makes such a nice gift! I had them make me a box for my doctor's office which they handpicked all dozen treats. It all looks sooooo good! It's served with their own Bo',a Vietnamese mayo, pickled shaved daikon, cucumber and carrot salad, ham. It's so good because the shiopan has acrunchy exteriorbut the sea salt flavor cuts the richness, and tangy pickled flavors of the fillings. This sandwich is delicious, so good and amazing! Menu today is 5/5. Another thing about their shiopan is they perfected their own techniques of creating a baguette substitute and saviry bread vessel. I bought their banh mi, and was so curious and planned to eat it later. After eating a few bites, it is so good. Their bakeshop and café is still quaint, and tgey have outside seating for patrons. I finally had some down time to stop by on a Saturday lunch, and it was pretty empty since I visited during Ramadan. But the man working behind the counter was so friendly and patient with me. I literally felt like my stomach was bigger than my eyes, I wanted to try everything. But got a few chocolate covered goodies from kunafa to dates to regular dark chocolate for me and my coworkers. EVERYBODY loved it. My favorite hands down was the chocolate covered date. You HAVE to get that one. I only got a single, but I wish I got like five. You can also pick and choose and they provide you a little baggie to put them all in. They also sell turkish delight which he cuts for you by hand. I really enjoyed the pomegranate one as a nut-allergy girlie. The rose water was a little too rose-y for me. Too floral, it tasted like the smell of a grandma with her potpourri. They also sell nuts and other goodies like Palestinian ceramics. I had to get myself a Falasteeni ceramic magnet. It was so beautiful, painted with olives all over. Zaytoun aesthetic! I'm kind of a tasting enthusiast... I enjoy blind and nonblind tasting of everything from wine to…read morebeer to olive oil to chocolate. Came here as part of a group chocolate tasting event a friend had arranged, and I was not disappointed. As you may already know, this place is a sort of temple to the long lost art of making chocolate using pre-modern agriculture and insanely-manual-labor-intensive processing, right down to removing the bean germ by hand to remove bitterness from the final product. It works btw: even when the final product is a "100%" cacao bar, it's not bitter - just intense. Somewhat oddly, most of their chocolates then add flavorings back - for example ginger or grape moonshine. I'm not sure whether to look at this as the opposite of a purist approach to chocolate, or as a loving curation of chocolate combos that is only possible with the pure-ist of chocolates - but two of the combos are fantastically successful. Namely, the ones I already mentioned: ginger and the grape moonshine powered "Ubric" which will mesmerize you long after you taste it - and which has been the subject of article length features in at least one popular magazine. If you want a souvenir it'll be almost $40 for a few ounces. Do it anyway. And follow any preparation directions to the T, e.g. bringing the chocolate up to about 80 degrees before eating it.
