Had my husband pick me up some dessert from here, he said the place is spacious and clean with good service. I haven't been here since the new ownership and it didn't disappoint! Ordered Fresas con Crema and it was soo delicious! They load it up with fresh juicy strawberries, also comes with coconut, granola and whip cream. A little pricey but this was a perfect treat! I shared a large with my daughter but next time we need our own lol. read more

When here is the other day because I wanted some ice cream. The place is clean and welcoming. I ordered a simple strawberries and cream, Fresca crema, On a waffle cone. $4.50 for one scoop, which is reasonable nowadays. The strawberry portion was more like a sherbet than an ice I'll probably go back and try some other flavors. The food gets good reviews also so I'll check that out. read more

Wish I could give this place zero stars. I ordered a mangonada, and to my absolute disgust, I found a ROACH in it. That's right--a literal bug in my drink. Clearly, their cleanliness standards are nonexistent. When I brought it to their attention, they barely seemed concerned and didn't even offer a sincere apology. This is beyond unacceptable. If they're this careless with their food and cleanliness, I can't imagine what the rest of their kitchen looks like. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually values hygiene. Never coming back. read more

5/5 for the food. My friend took me here, and it's this hole in the wall place with great mexican desserts. We had the mangonada and the churros. Churros are freshly made and heavenly. I really want to go back and try their tamarind dessert/ice cream. 4/ 5 for the service/ambiance. Again, it's a hole in the wall place with no frills. Not super done up or super cute - which is okay as long as there is seating. I felt uncomfortable sitting in the store because it felt like the lady behind the counter wanted us to leave - so we just sat outside. read more

This place is amazing! All of the ice cream is homemade and the owner is extremely kind. It must be difficult during thee times but he still served us with a smile and gave us a great conversation. We got two mangonadas and it was one of the best we've ever had! The ice cream tasted super mangoy and delicious. This is one of my favorite places to get snacks. Maybe I'm a little biased since I love Mexican snacks? Either way I enjoy this place a lot & I was really excited to see that they were open! Ordered: large mangonada & an order of tostilocos with our pig skin. The mangonada has mango sorbet, pieces of mangos, chili, and chamoy sauce. It's very tangy. The tostilocos has tostitos chips, cucumber, peanuts, lime juice, & a side of chili daughter and chamoy. If you like sour/spicy snack I would recommend both of these. I also ordered some tamarind ice cream, but I ate it before I even made it to my car! (It was only a scoop). A quick stop on this hot day. Was craving fresh fruit with lime and chili. Thanks to yelp this little gem popped up. It was moderately busy but service was quick and staff was friendly and accommodating. Table and work area was clean which is Always a plus for me. Most customers would walk in grab there goodies and head out. We choose to dine and ordered a mangonada fresh fruit and corn and chips. Mangonada is a combination of mango ice cream with tamarind sauce, fresh mango on top with a tamarind candy stick to complete the taste. Fresh fruits with lime chili and spices. Fruits was all fresh and chopped freshly. Orange, mango, cucumber, pineapple, mango, watermelon and cantaloupe. Typical fruits of the season. Corn and chips was a twist to nachos. First time having to and it was yummy possibly my favorite. It was nacho chips freshly fried, corn and nacho cheese sauce and I believe I noticed fresh cheese. And it was topped with jalapeño. This is my family's new go-to place for mangonada and esquite (corn in a cup)! The owner, Edwin, was very friendly and accommodating, and the store's attentiveness to detail during food preparation is above and beyond. Edwin recommended us to try to chicharrones last time we were there (which is fresh-made and very good), and when we came back this time, he remembered us many weeks later and asked how it was! This place is ok if you're craving Mexican snacks and can't find a place. They have everything you'd want but miss the mark. I got the fruta and they loaded it up with HELLLLA chamoy, when I just asked for chile and lime. It was also pretty finely chopped, which just wasn't working with the utensils. I got the esquite too, and it was reallly watery. The flavors are good, but its just little things like that, that make it not all the way there for me. My boyfriend got a chocolate and coconut milkshake and he loved it. read more

Love their ice cream. It is fruity and not overwhelmingly creamy. You can truly taste the mango and not just cream. My favorite flavor is Angel's Kiss. They also have delicious other treats. Will try their tamales next along with a Mangonada. Always friendly service read more

I've been craving this place since I came. Unlike other places that offer a mangonada, they don't blend ice and add tamarind flavoring. It's real ice cream and it's very rich! I also ordered the tostilocos. The pig skin was too mushy for my taste, but I like that they let its customers add hot sauce, chamoy and fruit seasoning. These Mexican ice cream stores are getting popular now and I see a lot more of them. I have tried a few and am able to reasonably discern which are good. This location is well lit and clean with friendly service. I got the Mangonada which I think is an acquired taste. It was interesting...I liked some parts of it. read more

I came here 3 times already. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They have new owners and they are keeping the store clean and with all the sanitary precautions needed to operate. I enjoyed the tostilocos and the esquite which is the corn in a cup and they can add Mayo or lime juice and chili powder or tajin (or all of it). They also have Mexican Coca Cola. They have to tables outside the store with 3 chairs each, for a social distance seating. I just wish they offered elote (corn in the cob) and not only the corn in a cup. read more

Pa'Latino is DELICIOUS! The new owners are phenomenal! Super family friendly! I love how they carried on the legacy from the previous owner and have introduced some new menu items. They've got something for everyone - whether it's a sweet craving or a healthy diet craving! Highly recommend their Escamocha (mixed fruit cocktail) - SUPER DELISH! The variety and freshness all their items has is unparalleled! Can't recommend them enough - I just wish they had more locations cause I drive all the way from Oakland to get my dessert fix from them! Super worth it! read more

I was craving a mangonada so I stopped by here given it was one of the few options in Newark/ Union City area. So first... the mangonada is so good because the sorbet is fresh and not overly sweet, but very creamy at the same time. Second, the girl at the counter helping was so friendly and helpful. Pa'Latino, a Mexican ice cream spot, offers some enticing options but falls a bit short in execution. The churros were made fresh, which is always a plus, but they lacked the light, airy texture I was hoping for. The service, on the other hand, was excellent--the staff was friendly and patient, letting me sample plenty of flavors before deciding. Unfortunately, many of the ice cream flavors had an off, somewhat chalky texture that detracted from the experience. On top of that, the serving sizes felt a bit small for the price. It's not a place I'd seek out on my own, but I'd consider stopping by again if friends wanted to give it a try. For now, it's a spot with promise but room for improvement. read more

Can you say THE BEST Mangonada ever?! My sister and her (Mexican) boyfriend didn't believe me until I convinced them to try it for themselves. The verdict? They said "best mangonada, EVERRR! Period." What makes the Mangonada so great is the fresh mango ice-cream -- it's rich, creamy, and has no frost bite. If you're not a fan of Mangonada (which I find it hard to believe!) then palatino also carries a wonderful selection of exotic ice cream flavors, i.e. tamarind, pistachio, twinkie, etc, or other fun Mexican desserts.
