this place was the perfect stop in the middle of my long bike ride yesterday. i had it on my radar…read moreand was going to be near, so donuts for lunch it was! they were sold out of about half of their options around 2pm but had plenty left, and they were still deliciously fresh then by then. i grabbed their last blueberry cream donut (love a filled brioche) and a caprese bun for something salty. and despite being a total coffee snob (i make my own espresso at home and even roast my own coffee beans in my kitchen!) i tried a gibraltar aka a cortado. i'm surprised i got a pic of the the caprese before i inhaled it. they warmed it up for me, and there was a mouth-watering ripe tomato in every bite. little pesto/basil with the crispy cheese. wow. perfectly crunchy and also juicy. delicious the blueberry cream was awesome. the flavor isn't too sweet, nice light fry with a ring on the outside, good gluten development... all markers of a superbly made donut. and the coffee! wow! when a bakery is good at their food options, i don't necessarily expect great coffee, but they carry verve which is a winner, and a crowd pleaser. not too dark, but still solid enough to hold up to a baked good. milk texture was spot on. overall super impressed with this place. friendly service, and they mask (yay). half a star off for no bathroom. i really wanted some soap and water after all the portapotty use of my bike ride :(

There's no seating area inside the bakery, but there are some tables outside next to a water fountain. Of the times that I've been there, it's mostly empty and clean, and the trash bins are not overflowing. The donuts are absolutely delicious. The brioche donut is soft but holds the fillings in well. There's also a bit of crunch from the sugar on the outside of the donut. There's an ample amount of filling, so you get to taste the flavors. So far, my favorites are Irish cream, lemon blueberry, and banana cream. It is a bit messy to eat, so have napkins and a small plate to catch any sugar or filling that may fall out when you bite into it. We had their chocolate chip cookie. It looked like a big mound of baked dough. Overall, it was okay. I would easily skip this for the donuts instead. I haven't tried their coffees, but my daughter loves the hot chocolate, and I have been enjoying their calamansi juice. It's nice and tart, not too sweet. I have seen some savory options but have not tried them. I will be back to explore the menu.

The Brown Cheese Vanilla Croffle was definitely the highlight--crispy on the outside, soft inside, topped with creamy vanilla ice cream and rich brown cheese that added the perfect sweet and savory flavor. The Pistachio Matcha was smooth and well-balanced, and the Corn Einspanner was surprisingly delicious with its creamy corn foam. The café has a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautifully presented menu items. Definitely worth visiting if you're looking for something different in the Bay Area!

Their Vietnamese Coffee was 5 stars delicious with a great smooth consistency and made to order. Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly. My friend's rose ice cream was also on point. Pickup went well and the cake was so cute and it tasted great! Like the Chinese bakery strawberry cream cake with a moist sponge cake; not too sweet, just right. Might sound basic but it was done very well. Would 100% recommend. I don't know prices for cakes nowadays but I didn't feel bad paying about $60 for a cute and tasty cake (6", strawberry cream cake). I wouldn't bank on same day pickups, I might've just been very lucky they were in the middle of making their cakes but it wouldn't hurt to try calling early in the day if you're in a pinch for a solid cake. The store itself is easy to find as well, with a clear label outside. Walking in, it looks half-closed--their cakes are all stored in a large refrigerator, with nothing in the case on the counter. That said, the service is friendly and the employees are quick to help you and show you what they have in stock for takeout. I ordered the 4" Berry Berry Light Cake for a birthday, and they were able to write a birthday message on the cake board, which I really appreciated. The cake also tasted very light and the sweetness was subtle, which I really enjoyed. The berry flavor in the sponge was a little too subtle, though. My main concern is that the cake does not fully resemble the picture they advertised online. It is missing the freeze-dried berries on top, and the berry glaze did not reach as far down the cake as was shown in the photo. Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online. I hope they reopen their indoor seating soon.
