This salon and its staff are lovely, so nice, and SO good at what they do. I was lucky to find Cara in September 2021 when I moved back to Houston. I needed a curly-hair, dry-cut and color/highlight pro; Cara goes above and beyond with helping me maintain a beautiful curly cut and color! She also got me through chemo through all of 2022. Cara was so supportive when my hair fell out, gave me an epic buzz cut, let me know when it was time to shave it off completely, and then stuck by me as my curls grew back out. She also always does a beautiful job on my hair color/root touch-up and highlights. 100/10 recommend Cara! On the few occasions when she has been unavailable, Rachel, Meg, and Jen have also been fantastic. For those of you who complain about that, let me just say...appointments are their lively hood, their business, the feeding of their families. If you no show or cancel last minute, the stylist could of had someone else in that spot, potentially losing 100's of $$ at no fault of theirs. So, be courteous and respect this. As a patron, it's important to also think of businesses as if they were your own. Now, enough about that little rant of mine lol So Bunmi's salon is actually far from me. I drive 40 minutes, but remember, investment! :) The salon is upstairs in a shopping center on Bellaire Ave. It is located in the "Phenix Salon Suites." She has her own room and the vibe is there! Ok, so what the room is nice...? We'll, she got the personality and skills to back it up! She was amazing at my first appointment. Made me feel so at ease. She listened as I explained what I wanted and tend to do. She was honest, respectful, and most importantly down to earth! My hair turnout, AMAZING! These were also given to me promptly. The professional I would be with, Amanda was very nice and friendly and reassured me through my anxiety. There was a consultation, shampoo and picking of setting style, before the actual cut. And the cut was amazing! I felt like my whole body felt lighter and was confidence soared after the seeing my new haircut. Amanda really listened to what I wanted and gave me honest and super accurate advice. I got to the appointment 10 minutes early and she took me right away. I told her exactly what i wanted and even pointed to my chest bone to where i wanted the length and the face framing pieced the shortest piece at my clavicle. She cut my hair sooo fast in like 15 min and proceeded to tell me that she needed to shampoo someone elses hair. After about 6-7 minutes she blow dried my hair and immediately i knew it was WAY TO SHORT. pretty much all of my hair is at my clavicle. After blowdrying she told me she needed to recheck foils for the same other person. When she came back again 5 min later cut some layers. She showed me the back and i was like oh its cute but really short. Instead of acknowledging me she was like so cute for summer. At this point she left super quick again for other client while another person curled my hair. NOW- i dont mind have to check foil etc but i felt like she was very rushed to go to this other client even though i had an appointment...then the hair cut itself isnt bad but its not what i wanted. I didnt feel like complaining anymore because my hair will grow back. But for the price i expect who i book to take more than 20-25 min cutting my hair.
