(I'm littlerly writing this and the guys chair behind me just broke and folded in on itself and the poor guys on the ground.... ummmm...OCWARD! ) The complimentary chips they bring to the table when you walk in are absolutely to die for--fresh, warm, and impossible to stop eating. We stopped in last Friday (01/09/26) after having a mediocre experience on our last visit, which was approximately a year ago. I still feel the same way about the place. This is one of those unfortunate instances where I wish I could give a 3.5* rating. Everything was ok, but definitely not great. The place is loud, and way too bright, especially for an intimate experience after 8:30pm or so. We would have loved to stick around for another couple cocktails, if the cocktails and ambience were good, they weren't. The "craft cocktail" ol' fashioned was improperly garnished w/ a whole 1/4 of an orange slice, instead of the peel, it was improperly essenced, and had an improper amount of simple syrup. It was essentially a shot of bourbon with a cherry and an orange peel. Tasted terrible. The drink lacked all of the taste and trappings of the advertised craft "burnt sugar" old fashioned. Additionally, they use a 1/2 of an ice ball, which would not have been offensive, if the rest of the drink was up to par, but as it was, the cocktail seemed cheap and off-putting. 2.0/10 My date ordered a "figgy sweater," a citrusy cocktail with vodka, also off of the "craft cocktails" menu. Her drink had the opposite problem. It tasted like a lemonade with no alcohol at all, or watered down alcohol. She's a fairly lightweight that does not like strong drinks, gets tipsy off of two, and she complained throughout its consumption that the drink seemed weak and not worth ordering another. 2.0/10 We were both interested in another cocktail, but due to the loud nature of the place, the over abundance of light, and the poorly crafted cocktails, we drove to another establishment for our second round. Food ordered: Seafood Chowder - Great job, delicious, ample seafood throughout 9.5/10 Brisket Poutine - Good but it lacked cheese curds and gravy. 7.0/10 Beef tenderloin tips - terrible... the dish came out cold, we ordered the GF option, and the bread substitute was gross. The dish was overly salty, and the beef was way, way over cooked; not even medium well, most of it was well done, and tough; this was $30 wasted, we barely touched it and it's still in the fridge two days later. I'll likely throw it out. 2.0/10 Chicken Fried Lobster - nice dish, I hated the dill, but my date licked it. The dill aside, it was delicious; nice presentation, great tasting waffle, w/ well favored garnishes. However, the dish was barely warm when it came out, the ricotta/cream soaked into the waffle, and it was soggy. If it came out of the kitchen promptly it would have likely been better. 7.0/10 I'd consider ordering the chicken fried waffle again, but bad cocktails will likely keep me away. It's tough to pay $30+ in bad cocktails to accompany a $100+ meal. I'd strongly suggest turning down the lights after 8:30pm or so, and installing some noise canceling/light panels to bring the ceiling height down, quiet the place down some, and make it seem more intimate. The two tables opposite the the kitchen, in the damn hallway to the bathroom, should either be gotten rid of, made into high-tops, or install a lower counter-service along that wall for a "chef's experience." Those tables absolutely suck. We sat at them at our first visit, they tried to sit us there for our 2nd visit, but moved us after our objection. I laughed a bit throughout our meal as the people that were subsequently seated at those tables complained during their meal of the constant bumps, and interruptions that come with the territory. Finally, our waitress did a great job. The food runner was late on a couple of our dishes, resulting in cold food, but the waitress' service seemed great. read more

I have passed by this restaurant tucked away in a plaza for months finally was able to check it out and was pleasantly impressed! We were quickly seated and greeted by our server Colleen, she went through the menu talked through our options and chatted through some of the favorites. Started off with the mangomargarita which was the spiciest I have ever had flavored with ghost pepper and sweet mango! The docs order which had ube, coconut and rum was cool and refreshing. I have been wanting to come here for the longest time, and it's crazy to me I have eaten in some great restaurants in other states before coming to this one just 15 minutes away from me. I do think I have a small bias against restaurants that are located in strip mall which is crazy cause right around me Khom Fai and Luciano's who are both well known and wonderful spots also. Either way, I finally made it here and it was a delicious experience. The restaurant is decked out in a nautical and travel theme which have it a softer touch to the modern decor. Very small bar area which I quickly snatched up a seat. I typically don't like my back to the front door, but sometimes beggars can't be choosers. The bartender was absolutely delightful in explaining the menu, both food and drinks, and sharing her favorite items. They imply they are a small plates/tapas type of place so I figured it was reasonable to order 3 items. Well let me tell you, for one person the portions were more than plentiful. A friend of mine recommend the green beans so I went already planning to order that and then added the Korean BBQ ribs and the Chicken Fried Lobster Tails (I mean, what? Of course I had to try that!). First the charred green beans. I was excited when I read the description because it said it came in a red curry sauce but I'll be honest, I didn't really pick up on the flavor much. It seemed more cashew forward. It was charred perfectly and still absolutely delicious, would definitely order it again. I think I will ask for a little more curry next time though Second was the Korean BBQ ribs. I am a huge fan of the sticky, sweet deliciousness but don't eat it too often as it sends my diabeetus flairing. But I was damn you pancreas, I'm ordering it anyway. It wasn't a problem as the sugar wasn't dominant, it was more soy, very salty. The meat was cooked absolutely perfect, tender and falling off the bone. Two giant pieces fill the plate, and is super filling. Finally, I saved the Chicken Fried Lobster for the crowing moment I thought it would deserve. And the name didn't lie, these were two lobster tails rolled in and fried in some sort of flour. It was definitely interesting. It also came with a bubble waffle and a bourbon maple syrup. The syrup was a bit much for me and the waffle was, though confusing. All in all, a curious dish. Whole all this was all very good, the real moment was being taken back to the Addendem, the speakeasy attached to the restaurant through a Murphy door pretending to be a shelf. This was absolutely gorgeous. Dark, leathery, velvety, elegant and perfect. If I could redo my basement, this is how I would have it look. Ordered a nightcap and Erica the bartender was awesome. We had a multi course meal consisting of house made chips and dip, wild mushroom croquettes, Asian noodle salad, stuffed piquillo peppers, charred green beans, chicken Wellington, seared Atlantic salmon, and a lovely dessert platter. Wow! Every course was fantastic! We met the chef and he is so friendly and it's clear how much he loves cooking and creating an experience for his customers. A fun place to eat, with a unique format for food and dining. We live in the area and have often mentioned we should try it. Well, we did and our dining experience was incredibly good. The food presentation and service are different when compared to your avereage resturant. Food is well prepared and presented hot and fresh. The selection is not your average fare but the food has great taste and served by a very experienced staff. If you are looking for something different but good this is the place. This was such an amazing experience! This was my first birthday dinner. I have been here before but it was a quick visit. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and saw that it was expanded. It's now twice the size! The bar is much bigger. We always enjoy sitting at the bar because we get more recommendations and the experience is just better overall. Regale is a small plates experience. The owner and chef was a cruise ship chef so he has recipes from all over the world. We loved that the owner came over and chatted with us for several minutes. That is great customer service. He loves what he does and it shows! The manager gave multiple recommendations and we got them all. They are famous for their green beans. I can't even fully explain them, but I'm not much of a green bean fan, and I ate this dish like it was candy! We also got the poutine which had brisket and fried onions. We then got steak Frites cooked perfectly. Melted in my mouth. Omg. The chicken Kyave was buttery and delicious. Oh. Our drinks... Well they offered both unique craft cocktails and several traditional ones. But to make this night perfect? A personal invitation to "the secret back room"!! Our waiter came by multiple times throughout dinner, constantly made sure we were happy, got refills and kept us informed about the kitchen knowing we were coming close to close. The kitchen stops orders an hour before close. Also I've heard there's a speakeasy here, and so I'll definitely have to come back to check that out. In terms of food, I have to recommend the Korean ribs. They were by far our favorite thing we had. I have been here 3 times and the first two times were a great experience but this last time was horrible. I was there for a party and the food was not to the quality it was before and the drinks were just ok for the most part. The big issue was the service. We had two waitresses (one was a bartender too I think) and they not only acted like they hated everything around them one even made multiple snotty comments directly to us. The wait time for food and drinks was a while and at one point I waited at the bar for so long without even seeing anyone there so I just went back to my table and didn't order. My plate was also taken when I was not done and I was not even asked. It's a shame since I really liked the last two times I was there but the service was some of the worst I have ever had. So bad that I don't think I'll be back. A horrible experience that ruined a great restaurant for me. read more

I don't usually get out to the outer regions of the area to visit places like Regale but I was nearby and had a chance to so I came. It's kind of a neighborhood joint in a strip mall but the food is different, in an era where everyone serves the same thing. If you live in Macomb it's a nice spot to have in your neighborhood. I had tuna tacos, chicken lollipops, chowder and the CUPcake. I thought all were actually enjoyable plates. Th chowder was super good... lots of seafood in that. Half the alcohol drink menu was tap drinks which kind of takes away from the drinks to me but the drinks were affordable and the food prices weren't too nuts either. The food was very good. We tired the burger, mac and cheese, skate cheeks, salmon, ribs, and green beans. Everything was excellent, except the ribs were a touch dry. All were uniquely prepared, for example the green bean has a slight sweetnes to them, probably due to the coconut curry. The skate cheeks were also a favorite, served on a potato pancake. I will say that they can be a little heavy handed on the sauce, but the various sauces were great. I will say that the sauces could be removed as the food was primarily sitting on them. I had a cocktail flight, all were very good, my favorite was probably the Paloma. The watermelon drink was also memorable, a lot of watermelon flavor. Service was good. The restaurant has a couple sections, the bar was a bit louder. We were in a quieter spot which was nice because the people I was with have low voices. read more

Not only do you come for the food, but their caring staff treats all guests like family. Shawn and his team are so hardworking and there's a reason his restaurant is a huge staple. He chatted with me for a while, as we're both from Canada, and told me about his travel stories that inspired him to open Regale. This is definitely not one of those places where you go with a plan of what 'type' of food you will order. You just have to trust the process of trying/sharing a variety of small plates of several cultural flavor profiles... and you will NOT be disappointed. The green beans and won ton tuna tacos are an absolute must every time for me. The octopus was AMAZING, and for my first time ever trying it? I couldn't believe the buttery (not rubbery) texture it had! We also tried the burger and chicken fried lobster which were fantastic and flavorful. If you know me, you know I'm ending with dessert, which is one of my favorite parts here. The butter tart is the closest I've ever had to a Canadian butter tart. Do not get the Korean ribs, they were very tough, the jerk chicken was advertised as a half of chicken but we only got a chicken breast and there was so much cinnamon on it was awful. Service mediocre at best, it was not busy but the waitress sat at the next table drinking water but we couldn't get our water refilled. So very disappointing. Won't be going back ever. read more

This was an elevated small plate type experience. We ordered a large number of items for the table and enjoyed everything , sharing all between four people. Gluten free items available too! Some items we creatively dividing for four. LOL A definite return experience and area gem! Reminds me of my other fave restaurant Naked Burger in that all food is scratch prepared in-house offering specialty craft cocktails! The art of cooking with quality products remains alive and well. Went here with my friend to see what this curious menu of tapas was about. The place was packed Thursday night so make reservations which we had at 7:30. I tried both the Manghostarita which is a margarita with ghost pepper tequila. It was fabulous! Not too hot but a bit of a bite and not too sweet. Also tried the Date night. That was fantastic also! I tasted my friends Petosky Sonic. All Really good cocktails. I want to learn how to make all these drinks! We ordered wild mushroom croquettes which were very good, poutine- good but I have had better elsewhere, Turkey meatballs with squash which was excellent! , and the Brie Strudel. The Brie Strudel was very pungent. We both thought it tasted musty and I keep forgetting that Brie is like that. The waiter asked if we liked it after checking in on us and we told him what we thought. Later he came by and told us he took it off our bill! I didn't expect that! That was very nice. I just figure you are taking chances with what you order at these tapas places. With service like that, (making sure you are satisfied) I will be back! I have been wanting to try this place based on the reviews and I'm happy to say that I was not disappointed! I came here just for drinks for my boyfriends birthday. The bartender was awesome and made us lots of delicious drinks (most were not on the menu, he just came up with them on the spot based on our preferences, which i think is awesome). We ended up ordering the fries and cup of chowder. Both were delicious. They also gave us the "cup cake" on the house, which is a mouthwatering chocolate cake with caramel sauce and ice cream in a mug. Amazing. I would order again. We went to Regale on a Tuesday night. We made reservations, and boy am I glad we did because it's not a huge place and it was busy. They are expanding, but that section is still under renovation. We were seated right away, and our waitress came over with water and took our drink orders. She asked if we had been there before which we hadn't, so she advised that everything is made to be shared and they recommend for a group of 2 ordering 3-4 things. They come out staggered so you don't get everything at once. We chose the Wild Mushroom Croquettes, Brie Strudel, Kimchi Fried Rice, and Lobster Grilled Cheese. The croquettes and strudel came out first. The croquettes were nice and crispy on the outside and soft inside. Good mushroom flavor and the cheese was nice and melty. The strudel was probably my favorite dish of the entire evening. The flavors and textures all melded together really well and the unsweetened whipped cream on the side really set the whole thing off when you ate it. Next came the fried rice and lobster grilled cheese. The kimchi fried rice was good, and definitely had a real kick to it. For those of you who like runny egg yolks, it definitely delivers there as there's a sunny side up egg on top. The Lobster grilled cheese was outstanding. It had a ton of lobster and the outside had toasted Parmesan cheese on it. So, so good. We also decided to order dessert because they looked so food (even though we were definitely full of delicious food already) and chose the Belgian Mousse Cake. Holy Moly. It was amazing. Super chocolaty, and great texture. The strawberries on top really added an freshness, and there were little crunchy chocolate balls for texture in the anglaise. I would definitely order it again.
