We had an entire flock of pigeons on our roof, no lie, an entire flock. There were so many pigeons that at first, I thought we had rats because of all the running around we heard on the roof. Eventually, we started seeing eggs rolling out of our rain gutter every now and then where they set up their nest. We figured they couldn't get in the attic, so we didn't pay them much attention. We try not to kill or disturb animals if they are not causing harm or property damage. Then came the smell! We thought a bird died up there. Time to call the professionals. It was much harder to get someone to come out, let alone on the same day. I am SO glad I called Bloodhound Wildlife Management. Sam and the crew were awesome! They came out right away. They were professional, efficient, and honorable. Three things that are rare nowadays. I talked to them while they set up then went back inside. By the time I finished my first adult beverage, they were packed up, cleaned up, and all the birds were gone! You would have never known the birds, or Sam and his crew, were even there but for the broken eggs. They showed me pictures of the work they performed so that I knew everything was done. They set up bird spike so the birds wouldn't comeback. While they were very confident the birds were gone forever, they told me to call them back if the birds do and they will come out again. I hired Sam and his company based upon his reviews. What a massive mistake. He has utterly failed to perform on our agreement, is completely non-responsive, and under no circumstances would I recommend him or his company. Frankly, this is the worst experience I have ever had with a service provider in Central Texas. He is not a man of his word, does not complete his work, and is completely unreachable. We had a rat infestation in our house. We were in total distress. Hired one company and they didn't do the job ( critter control) Then finally we met Sam!!! He made us feel comfortable and was very knowledgeable on how to take of this problem !!! In short: very fast response, excellent and friendly communication, great service. I will definitely work with them again. In detail: I heard scratching up on the roof and knew I had raccoons trying to find some place warm... again. Last time around they did $1700 in damage to the house before all of them could be caught and removed. This time I went with a different company and was impressed by how fast Bloodhound replied to my estimate request. I requested an estimate on Yelp and within an hour not only did they respond but Sam came out and placed traps. Over the course of a week they removed 5 animals and took care of my problem. Considering how quick they responded, how efficient they were and how well they communicated their fee is a good deal. I also wanna point out that I requested no contact due to Covid 19 being a big threat to immunocompromised people in my care and this wasn't a problem at all. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I sadly have to amend my positive review. After just a couple of months of spending a small fortune to get rid of the rodents in the house, they returned. UPDATE - when I posted this review- the owner sent threatening and harassing texts to my wife and me about it! This guy is SCARY!! Scarier than the rats were :( RUN! Having been assured by the owner that they guarantee their work, I tried contacting them for advice and hopefully a return to finish the job, I never even got the courtesy of a call back, despite leaving numerous messages and text requests!!! I guess after they get your money they're done with you! I hope you won't have the same experience that I did, and regret having hired this company ******* So NOW, the owner is accusing my wife of sexual advances instead of answering his bad business behavior?!? He told my wife he used to be a PROFESSIONAL STRIPPER, so maybe that is his fantasy for customers to make advances! I have worked with multiple people from Bloodhound, including Sam, Nick and Dylan. Each of them are on top of things and work great together. They have helped with removing raccoons, trapping roof rats, and are in the process of handling a termite treatment. They have worked methodically to seal up multiple rodent entry points to keep critters out of the attic, solving a nightly noise nuisance. What's more, they're capable of tackling other related needs going so far as to trim tree limbs off my roofline and replacing deck boards to further limit rodent access. I hired Sam to trap and remove a raccoon, and also patch the hole that the raccoon had made. He had me pay him in full through Zelle before he laid the trap (NEVER use Zelle, you cant get your money back). He told me he'd be back the next day by 6pm to collect the raccoon, and then come back to patch the hole. The raccoon was caught the same night he laid the trap. I texted him to tell him he caught it AND I NEVER HEARD OR SAW HIM AGAIN. 6pm rolled around the next day and he never showed up, would not respond to text messages and was not answering his phone. The service that put me in contact with him couldn't get a hold of him and then started to claim they never recommended him (yet they still knew how to contact him without me giving his info) after they realized he had broken several animal cruelty laws. The raccoon was in the trap for almost 36 hours before I had to handle the situation myself. I had to deal with it because THE RACCOON STARTED SELF MUTILATING TO GET OUT OF THE TRAP. It had ripped open its head from pushing against the trap and had gashes on its hands and wrists from trying to escape. The situation had become inhumane so I had to now get this animal medical attention because I couldn't just release it with the injuries it had sustained. All this time, I was still calling and texting Sam, and he was not responding. The entire situation was a nightmare only made worse by Bloodhound Wildlife Management's involvement. I still have never heard back from Sam, I still have a hole in my attic, and it costs me $500+ to be rid of the situation before I could get a real professional in to fix my attic. NEVER HIRE THEM. I was extremely satisfied with Sam Smith and his crew. I have a rental property that is brand new in Pflugerville and I was having an issue with field mice entering the house from the fields disturbed by construction. I had a couple of people come before Sam and they just put traps and left and my tenant was extremely frustrated as the mice kept coming back. I called Sam on a weekend he picked up and came by the next day. He found that the ridge vents had warped on the roof with the heat and was letting the mice in. He had it replaced the same day with metal ridge vents and blocked other potential entry points. He put traps and came 3 times again to check the traps in the next few days and the problem has gone away. Sam has an entomology degree which means he really knows what he is doing and responds very quickly and really believes in customer service. He also provides a 1 year warranty on his work which is great. He also helped me put together some key points to send to my builder to try and get a reimbursement of part of the expenses. Yesterday I called bloodhoundwildlifemanagement.com because of a "dead animal" smell that seemed to be coming from under the house. Got a speedy reply and extremely fast service from Sherry and Trey, who both came out yesterday to survey the scene and set a couple of traps next to the likely access points. This morning there are two fat possums in the traps, who will be removed today and released someplace safer for them than under my home. As for the smell, Trey was able to isolate the location and seal any access points for future pests (most likely rats, based on droppings and small size of access), and while I opted out of cutting through a wall to try and find the dead culprit, they were willing to go the distance if that's what I wanted. They've advised me on odor-mitigation strategies and what to do going forward to avoid a similar situation. What a great team!
