Excellent food and service. If you are trying to find a nice place to relax, have some good food, and try some wine, this is it. No hassle, easy parking, very pleasant staff. Highly recommend the fried chicken sandwich. If you're worried about baking in the sun, the covered patio is great. If you like it under more open air, definitely go for the garden side. The garden tables do have large umbrella over each table. Don't forget to try the pork belly! So good. read more

Ok, I'm going 5 stars on this review because I'm really liking the vibe at Bloom Carneros. It's in an unassuming location as you head out of Sonoma toward Napa. The outdoor area has a very comfortable setting under shade awnings and trees. There were three of us dining and we started with the shishito peppers - very good! One person had the rolled sweet potato tacos which they liked very much and the other person had the wedge salad and shared my dessert I enjoyed the halibut tacos which were a special. They came on house made corn tortillas and were delicious. The halibut was cooked perfectly and not dried out. We finished with a s'mores dessert which was good but needed to showcase more of the house made graham cracker. Everyone liked the food and ambiance and would try again. The prices are fair and it's nice they use locally grown food and make so many things in house. You can taste the difference for sure! The service was good, professional and attentive. I'd recommend giving Bloom a try if you are in the area. read more

Had a decadent evening here with Dan as my server. Amazing food and wine. What a lovely space to enjoy a bite to eat and a drink to go along. This place comes across as in sync, efficient, but keeps their authenticity, as the servers and bartender's bright personality's shine through a style of service that makes you feel like you are at home with family. Speaking of that, this place is unbelievably kid friendly as well as dog friendly, my 4 year old had a wonderful time on the play structure and Gavin, one of the Bussers promptly brought my Saint Bernard water. The good: family friendly ambiance. Server was wonderful. Food: We ordered the halibut aguachile (5/5) and fig & Buratta (4/5) starters. Both were great but burrara seemed a little bland/underseasoned. Chicken sandwich main was a bit underwhelming and again underseasoned (3/5). Panna cotta dessert came out with this some sort of shaved ice top which I didn't care for. I would've just preferred the panna cotta by itself, which was delicious. The odd: we had a 12:15 reservation and arrived at 12. The hostess was adamant she couldn't seat us for another 15 minutes even though there were plenty of open tables. Probably 1/3 fully occupied at that time. It was ok bc the kids were able to play on the playground but it was weird. The bad: $12 is a bit steep for 5 chicken nuggets off the kids menu-no side, no drink. More irritating is the 5 percent service charge. I don't remember if this was posted anywhere on the menu...maybe in the fine print somewhere. Either way I didn't appreciate being blindsided by a 5% upcharge at the end of the meal. Looking at their website it's for "living wage, health care, etc" and is NOT tip. Translation: it's for the business' costs of running a restaurant. Here's my soapbox. It's just disingenuous to post a menu price and force your customers to do math to figure out what it actually costs. Just increase the menu prices if that's what it takes to run the business. Don't try to masquerade it as something that may be going to the service staff. TL/DR-overall could be a 4.5/5 but not all the menu items are a hit. I wanted to be more generous bc it is a family friendly oasis in an area that is not particularly friendly to little ones, but the surprise up charge soured an otherwise good experience. read more

Booked a reservation a week in advance for my anniversary. They decided a couple hours before that they were not busy enough and decided to close two hours early...so my wife and I changed plans, while in their parking lot, and headed back to downtown Sonoma, Needless to say, I will never attempt to visit Bloom Carneros again. Absolutely delicious with great service. We had 5 pm reservations for dinner, but arrived just before 4 pm. We ordered their special appetizer, which was stuffed squash blossoms served in a tempura batter. Amazing. We also ordered the fried chicken bites off the lunch menu. Yummy. Then at 4, they switch to a small bites menu. We ordered the pork belly, halibut Aguachile and the burrata. All three were special. The pork belly was arguably the best pork belly ever. I usually don't like pork belly because it's too fatty, but this was rendered well. It was tender and smoky. They offered happy hour prices on beverages at this point, but not sure when this ends. We had to leave Sonoma the next day, but if we'd stayed another day, I bet we'd have gone back to try their burger. So nice when you have the option to go to a restaurant with a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere and get 5 star food. Highly recommend! read more

Unfortunately this one was a bit of a miss. Sat down and no one came to help us for a while. We got the burrata and pork belly apps, both were very good. However, our mains were off- the burger was good, nothing special. My wife got the Brussels sprout salad and didn't even end up eating much since it was bad. We also had to wait a long time for our entrees to come out- they showed up 15 mins after people around us who arrived after us had gotten theirs. It's a good place for kids and dogs and atmosphere is nice, but unfortunately the service issues and entrees make this a pass for us. read more

I was being treated to lunch by friends and didn't wish to send it back. The chicken tasted gamey and was far from tasty. The whole meal was awful. I didn't hear anyone saying yum at my table. Think everyone ate that they got and said nothing. The IPA was good. That was the height of it. Also wondering why the salad is called "warm" when there was nothing warm about it. And why on earth do they not offer more than 2 salad choices and still offering Autumn in Spring. Won't be going back to this restaurant. No one even came back to ask if our food was good?? We recently had an Eden like experience; from the moment we arrived at Bloom, the host was welcoming & friendly, we sat under a shade tree in a beautiful garden area, great low playing music, feeling immediately immersed in a super chill and unpretentious vibe. Our waitperson was possibly one of the best experiences of the day, certainly one of the best I've ever met, deeply knowledgeable about the menu but so relaxed and fun in how they shared it. Their quiet, gentle, and stellar attention to detail was next level but without pretense. Wonderful wines to accompany the meal, every course inventive, gorgeous to look at and so delicious fingers might have been used to savor anything lingering, Michelin star worthy. We had a completely un-rushed meal & upon leaving, that was hare, we were touched by their humble but sincerely invested approach to local, family farm, food, and wine. Ask Eric about the wine club, especially if you are a local, it's bountiful, guaranteed you'll have a fun conversation. What a beautiful, tranquil setting we experienced on one of our Ladies Lunch dates!! First of all the access is EXCELLENT for anyone, especially those who need assistance. it is flat, open, their chairs have arms for ease of up/down, umbrellas for shade if needed, clean and comfortable seating. We were seated at our table and actually had the gentleman push the chair in for one of our ladies!!! We originally planned to go to Bloom Carneros as a lunch stop between two winery visits, but little did we know that it would be the highlight of our day. The outdoor seating and ambiance are unmatched, with a beautiful patio and bar. Erik (the restaurant manager) took care of us, giving plenty of helpful recommendations and answering all of our questions. The food was incredible - sourced from within a super local radius, delicious, and inventive. Erik and company were also very accommodating with a gluten allergy and put us right at ease. The Kivelstadt wines we tried were delicious, especially the Carbonic varietals and the red blends. We had such a good experience that we came back for dinner! This time we sat at the bar, enjoyed the mid-afternoon music, and had a delicious dinner, dessert, and coffee. We ended up leaving with two bottles of wine, their roasted coffee, and signing up for a membership as well. I couldn't say enough good things about Bloom and the people working there; we've recommended it to friends and family so many times in the past two weeks since we went, and we can't wait to get our wine shipment! We have been to Bloom several times now with our toddler and we absolutely love it!!! Great service, wine, food and ambiance.
