* i can't even express how much I am in love with my nails.* I get UV gel, and I haven't had much luck at other salons. I usually have to re file them and fix them when I get home. Someone recommended this salon and I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you about my experience. The salon is very nice inside. Very clean. The staff was very nice and welcoming. First I got my pedicure. I got a spa pedicure with an extra massage. The massage was so relaxing and it didn't feel rushed. My toes look great. I just got basic pink nails but they're perfect. I wish I remembers the girls name but I don't I'm sorry. Next was my manicure. I had Jessie. I needed to get my old nails taken off and the last salon I went to filed them down so much that they started to hurt. So I told Jessie that my nails were thin and please be careful. She was so careful and went nice and slow so I didn't feel pain. She cleaned up my cuticles so nice. Applied the UV gel very neatly. No bubbles or running over onto my nails. Jessie had another client so Yuki took over. She finished filling them down and I told her I loved how the filed nails looked and she said she could paint them to look like that. I trusted her and they are the exact color I've always wanted and no one could ever replicate. These are by far the best nails I've ever had and the best experience. I'm new to the area and have been looking for a new nail salon. I've been here maybe 4-5 times in the last few months. Bloom is clean and the staff is accommodating as far as calling ahead or taking walk ins. Issues: no posted price list. This is an issue for me because as a new customer I like to know what different services are offered and how much they cost. Last time I went, my gel pedicure cost $55. This was a regular pedicure, with no extra add ons except for the gel polish. It was actually the same price as their spa pedicures. When I asked about the pricing I was told that gel is $35 extra on top of the price for a regular pedicure. Had I known, I would have gone somewhere else. read more

I used to come here all the time, regularly for spa pedicures and powder manicures. It went downhill fast. Today I just had my last mani pedi there. Beyond horrible experience. I would go for powder mani/spa pedi appt's all the time and today only had time for regular mani/pedi. The nail tech was rude throughout my entire appointment. Every time I would move she'd throw her hands up and let out a huge sigh as if I was inconveniencing her. The nail job is HORRIBLE. My nails look A LOT better when I do them myself, I'm so upset I paid for this. I showed the manager she only painted half of my nail on my hands and she repainted them with a topcoat and laughed when I said "not a very good job". They still looked horrible. I asked for my money back because I'll have to redo them myself and that's not fair. I came here to get a moment of relaxation and a nice mani/pedi and I paid for that, and that is the opposite of what I got. She apologized and told me she was a new nail tech. Then she shouldn't be working there yet and should still be training. The manager refused a refund despite recognizing the horrible job that was done. I walked out and will never return. I'll be doing my own nails tonight. I hate to leave bad reviews and I NEVER ask for refunds but this salon shouldn't even be in business and they ruined my time out that was supposed to be pleasurable. They immediately tried to get me to sit down when I said I had waited too long. Especially after making an appointment I was irritated. The quality of work is good and the staff seemed real nice. I knocked down 2 stars because after I paid in cash, I left the tip for her and the other guy by the register. After my husband and I had walked out of the building and on our way, the girl who did his pedicure came running after us. I thought we had left something behind. She says to us "You forgot to leave a tip." I personally thought that was rude. Tips are optional first of all, and secondly, I have worked in the service department for many years, and know how to tip. I told her politely that I HAD given them a tip and that it was on the table. She didn't even thank me, she just rushed back into the salon. Rude as hell! Won't be going back there again. read more

I was pretty hesitant to come back here because I always end up spending so much more than regular priced services, but it's truly worth it. They are about $5-10 more than your regular spot but you pay for what you want and I certainly want the best. They are super friendly, and very professional. They do a wonderful job and you can see that they care about your nails. Today Jessie did my nails and she was very precise and did not rush. I got the SNS for my nails. The main reason I go here is CLEANLINESS. Every time I've gone there they always open a sterilized sealed package of tools they use on my nails. They are super hygienic and are very conscious of their salon and maintaining this. I think that is why they cost so much more. Plus you get a massage after all your sessions which is awesome. They also offer a lot of other services from eyelash extensions to chocolate pedicure treatments. Overall, yes come here if you are looking for a clean and always sterile/sanitized tools. I have tried a number of local nail salons since moving out to Bay Shore, and Bloom is by far the best, both on the basis of the quality of the work and the cleanliness of the salon. When my favorite nail tech was fired from the salon I used to go to, I was on the hunt for a new place and I tried this one since it is right on main street. I was not disappointed. True, it is slightly more expensive than some places around town, but it is FAR cheaper than in the city. And the price is worth the careful and conscientious job done by the nail techs here (I've had most of them and never had a bad one). I get medium length acrylics filed into a pointy stiletto shape, and the nail techs never complain about the extra work of the special filing (though many do other places). The UV gel they use here to do acrylic fill also lasts about 100% longer than the acrylic powder fill I used to get other places. And if any of my acrylics starts to come up or peel, the techs here are extremely diligent about trimming and re-doing it. They have a wide range of gel colors and are happy to execute my strangest whims involving multiple colors or elaborate designs. They are extremely attentive - almost compulsively so - to making sure my nails are evenly shaped, and that the sometimes elaborate painting I request is perfectly executed. The result is that I consistently have the best nails I have ever had in my life. As a side note, I really appreciate that when you get a pedicure here, they place a new sanitary protective bag over the foot basin for each customer, so you never have to worry about cleanliness. I haven't been to any other local places that do that. This place is the real deal - better than NYC quality for excellent Bay Shore prices. read more

Honestly since this is now the only nail salon on Main Street Bayshore I have given them MULTIPLE chances. Every time I go there it does not look like I got my nails done professionally, but the worst part is that my cuticles are not cut properly and look worse then when I got there. The skin excessively peels for the next week and bleeds. The last two times I went there was the last straw- one time they made my toe bleed by cutting the skin and they gave me no apology or compensation. My toe was bleeding for 15 min straight and the pedicure was delayed. The last time I went there they made my thumb bleed and 3 days after the manicure it's still busted up. I come here every 2 to 3 weeks to get my UV gel nails done. Since there are only two women that can do them... I plan ahead and make an appointment a few days before. The staff here are very welcoming and if youre a repeat customer they will eventually know your name lol Its been hard for me to find a good nail place since I moved to Long Island from new jersey. This place does not dissappoint! One thing that does bother me is why bother making an appointment if they take walks ins over appointments? ive made two appointments for times right when they opened. i was 5 minutes late and the girl that does UV gel was doing a fill on someone else so i had to wait almost 45 minutes!! If you confirmed my appointment days ago then you should honor it. I had one appointment in the afternoon and when I walked in and told them that... there was 3 people ahead of me! either you are not good at scheduling appointments and keeping them or you dont know how to time manage appointments. My mother and I didn't have an appointment but the facility has a full staff so they were able to take us almost right away. Been coming here, pretty much, since it opened and have never had a problem. I was looking for a new salon because the one I went to for years was under new ownership and not the same. Bloom Nail is always clean and the staff is very friendly. Yoyo does such a good job, I had regular manicures that last two weeks! Not gel, a regular mani! I don't know what she did that made them last so long! Probably not worth calling ahead of time, maybe just to see if they are super busy. I usually still end up waiting a bit even if I have an appointment. Prices I guess are a little higher than other places, but not that much. I never feel like I am rushed or that they are bothered if you don't like a color or want your nails cut shorter. Usually they are honest with you and tell you if they don't like a color, which I appreciate. They also do the new powder gel, if you are in the market for that (not worth it in my opinion, still damages your nails after using it for a while). Bottom Line: Probably one of the best nail salons I have been to in the Bay Shore area. Worth the trip if you are a few towns over. read more

I would give them 0 stars if possible. I recently moved back to Islip and was looking for a local nail salon. Not a fan of any in town so deciDed to try here. Place is small which is fine. People were nice however 2 or nails were chipping 2 days later. ( gel manicure ) and 2 others broke on the side which I'm blaming on the fact that he kept filing them with the machine before soaking. I kept pulling my hands back because he was burning me, he was filing way too much. Never going back and highly recommend you save your money. read more

I've been getting nails done at Bloom Nails, Main St., Bay Shore for the last few years and have never been disappointed with their service, cleanliness, and friendly demeanor. Shelter at home is difficult at times and closed local businesses are suffering. They need to reopen in a careful manor following all the guidelines. All the manicurists have always worn masks and taken great care with the customers needs and wants so I see no problem with the people at Bloom Nails. May seem selfish but some personal pampering goes a long way to elevate my spirits. After 6 weeks of limited distance visits with family I'm so ready to actually go into a store (with my mask) and say hello to people. Good luck to my favorite nail salon and all the employees. Excellent service.. super clean and the staff is so sweet and attentive! They opened up a few months ago and I have to say I will be a long time customer. I get a mani every week and I was a customer at another salon on main st for more than 7 years but once they expanded and they drove up their prices.. the service was just not the same and it is always super packed so I was done with that salon. I decided to try bloom salon and I became so comfortable and the service and prices are great! Such sweet ladies! I am now a bloom salon client for life...they have a great polish selection and the pedicure chairs are so comfy! HORRIBLE LASHES!!!!!!!!!!! SO SO SO BAD!!! No not EVER go there for lash extensions. 1- they were 30 min late for my appt. and application took OVER 2 HOURS 2- halfway thru my extensions the woman left to do a manicure and some other girl finished the other eye.. you can tell the difference in quality between who did which eye 3- IT BURNED!!!!! They got glue in my eye and it stung so badly my eyes were bloodshot and watering for an hour afterwards. I paid with one eye open bc I literally couldn't open it 4- THEY ARE A GLUEY MESS!! You should be able to brush the extensions with an eyelash brush. These feel like they were coated with hairspray. Theyre so stiff and you can see chunks of glue. They're covered in glue and look HORRENDOUS!!! I called as soon as I left to schedule an appt to get them removed first thing in the morning and they had the nerve to say they wouldn't refund (then she hung up the phone on me). This place is HORRIBLE for lashes. Please do your research so you don't ruin your natural lashes with unprofessional places like this.
