I've been coming to this shop for over 20 years and they are worth the price. I've never seen a cleaner salon. They are very particular with the nails and have such a large variety of colors. The whole pedicure took 12 mins and the woman "Debbie" stopped the pedicure cause I was saying I was unhappy while on FaceTime with my mom and she said I needed to stop talking on the phone to complete pedicure. She cut my nails short even I asked her to please not cut them short, didn't scrub my feet and said they only scrub if I pay more. She was lady and didn't use to liquid and foil paper to do the removal process, not to mention she rushed through my pedicure. I've been here a number of times and normally it's pretty busy with not a lot of places to sit while you wait. You should always call in advance beforehand although they do have a decent amount of staff there at all times. They have a number of regular nail polish colors but when it comes to the SNS powder ($35) they haven't had as big of a selection as I've experienced at other places. As for the powder manicure lasting a while that has also been a real hit or miss for me... I've had manicures there that have lasted for a while (maybe once or twice out of 7 times) but I've also had powder manicures that have not lasted for as long as they should. (When the bottom of your nail starts to lift and gets caught in your hair I know it was a bad mani job).. This wouldn't be my first place to go to get a manicure but I'll probably end up coming back here in the future. read more

I really like this place, currently my go-to for my powder gel manicure. They're always busy but have so many people on staff I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes. I'll take whoever is open so ive had a handful of different girls do my nails and I am never disappointed. Personally, I dont get a pedicure here. I have, they do a great job but your basic pedi is significantly overpriced $30 if I recall correctly. So I just go somewhere else and pay about $18-20. read more

Not quite sure how this place has such a low Yelp rating because it is a fantastic nail salon. I believe some people have unrealistic expectations of this service. You are expected to tip 20%. This has always been normal in New York, especially Long Island. This is an expensive area and these workers rely on tips for their hourly wages. You should not get your nails done if you cannot afford a 20% tip. The same goes for going out to eat. Please do your own nails or cook your own food if you can't afford to tip. Let's help each other out, yeah? Life's hard all around and we're all struggling to afford living on Long Island. You are expected to tip for certain services, such as getting your nails done. Anyway, now that my tipping rant is over, here is my actual review: I got a pedicure and manicure done yesterday with Joanne. I had never been to New Babi before since I JUST moved to the area, but two women who live locally recommended New Babi as the best nail salon in the area. They weren't wrong! New Babi is one of the busiest nail salons I have ever been to, but it was extremely clean and the interior is refreshingly bright and airy. I didn't feel claustrophobic like I do in some nail salons! Joanne did an absolutely wonderful job. I will be requesting her as my nail tech in the future, and I will be returning to New Babi regularly. This was 100% by far the BEST french manicure I have ever received. I just finished a deep cleaning of my house and my nails still look amazing (no chips) - and I just got a regular manicure, not gel! Color me impressed! read more

This place they look like it's running well, but definitely has undertones of racism and they don't care about their customers. I've been going here for a very long time with one particular nail technician. She encourage me to go to one specific nail tech. I waited over a week to have an appointment where I generally would schedule my appointments in advance for aa particular person. I arrive for the person that I scheduled for a week and a half an event, and she was with what I would consider her regular customer. This wasn't the first time I had an appointment and I tipped her well. The men just try to convince me to ghost someone else who I knew wasn't good just so that she can get my money. She knew how well I tipped and how loyal I was because I've been going there for a long time. I told her I was disappointed and that now I see how they work and all she cared about was the money. I've also witnessed another lady getting her nails done and was tortured by a nail tech because she wasn't doing it right. The customer tried to correct her nicely and the girl started screaming you don't like me you don't like me. It took over 20 minutes for the Manager to get the girl under control and still make her go back to do this for Lisa's nails. The woman was so upset and so disappointed and she stayed there to get her nails done. I definitely didn't want the same experience that I witnessed a few months prior having someone new that I never had before. The manager knows that I am a loyal customer so she tried to convince me to stay and then they would be with me as soon as she finished. I wasn't gonna sit there to get my nails done and wait 30 minutes when I had an appointment and I schedule it in Events. This place is a disaster and should be shut down. They make it look like they're for customers but obviously there for a certain kind customer and if you really want good treatment if you don't have a special person, don't go there. You should go anywhere that you wish and get fair treatment. I'm not surprised that this is the state of America yesterday today and tomorrow. So disappointed but not surprised. read more

This is the best place to get your nails done. Ling is an artist. She designs anything on your nails. The staff is friendly & kind. I have had my eyebrows and lashes done heard. It is one stop place to get yourself all done and feeling like a million bucks. Ask for Ling and show her any design as crazy as you might want & she will do it for you! I've been going here for years. I did not have an appointment and went in for a pedicure and gel polish . After having difficulty finding my matching color .....The owner Suzy yelled at me in front of customers that I was taking too long . She told me I should leave or go to the chair. Humiliated I obliged. It was so bad the technician who did my nails defended me and argued with Suzy. I ended up crying later as my nails were done. I vowed to never go back and told Suzy when I left. I will miss Chris, Mia and other great technicians. Suzy does not seem happy at the salon. It is constantly crowded every day since the pandemic. Probably one of the worst pedicures I've ever had in my life spent $30 to have a 15 minute pedicure a five of which was just polishing the nails never again I might as well throw in the money in the garbage. I have been coming here since 2012 and won't go anywhere else. Mia is excellent and a caring nail tech. In fact, they all are! The massages that they ask if you want while drying your nails are phenomenal, too! I do think they are a bit higher priced but the salon is CLEAN and they care about this highly. Ive had some bad experiences though. first off the last time i was here i had my nails and they were great but one tip broke off a day later (i wasnt doing anything to cause it to break i honestly was taking a nap and woke up and it came off). i was here again today, came straight from work to get a pedicure and full set. they told me i couldnt get gel pedicure because there wasnt enough time (full thing ended and there was still a half hour left, plenty for gel on the toes) and they also tried to tell me i couldnt get my full set because of time. i explained to them that i work 7 days a week and its hard for me to get in a salon so they did the full set but not gel pedicure like i asked. overall a nice place and they do good work but customer service could be a bit better. read more

Gorgeous place but...The communication broke down when I walked in! Fighting and yelling and groans from no less than five different techs trying to remove my acrylics. However the service was very rushed overall, not very friendly staff, paid $55 for gel pedi didn't get the hot stones, mask,scrub etc just my toes painted and a light scrub on the feet l so yeah not coming back. I had asked about the stones and the nail tech said "I should've said something earlier" but it was stated that it was included in all of the packages and the one I specifically picked. New Babi, living true to its engrishy-name still looks brand spanking new after being open for quite some time. It's more shiny than a fresh set of silverware from lord and taylor, and cleaner than a house with an OCD maid. The staff seems pretty consistent, I've seen the same faces and most seem to speak English and do a decent job. Regardless of the lack of check ins you might see, I've been here about 3 times over the past year. They take sanitation seriously and use disposable liners and files for each person. I often see them taking equipment in and out of the autoclave so no issues there. There's also a bottle of bleach-cleaner at every pedicure station. Why only 3 stars? It gets more crowded than a zoo serving free ice cream, and the pedicures, while nice, start at $30. I opted for the $35 pedi last time, wanting a little pick me up (had a crummy week). I walked out paying $42 with tip and my nails were cut crooked, the massage hurt and it was so busy it wasn't very relaxing. Pro-tip: If you go on a Saturday, make an appointment! read more

So I started going here a year ago recommended by a friend , and it was great in the beginning It like 4 min from. My house and they did a good job . This is the second time I had a issue with whoever is taking payment at the front , I always have to come back to fix something , how does gel chip ? And on top of that if I give a five or ten dollar tip they lady is always begging for more . Now you can't leave a tip on the card so now she pressures u into getting. BEWARE:UNSANITARY I have been coming here for a while because it is very convenient location wise, today however I for the first time had a fill in on a pair of tips(I normally do gel). All was fine until the nail technician cut my cuticles on three different fingers with the electric nail file. Those areas proceeded to bleed of course and instead of applying a disinfectant to the finger (a green solution) and applying a cotton swab to make sure it stopped bleeding first, she continued. So now the tools had my blood on them, the hot cloth after hand massage had my blood on it and she used that same cloth to wipe up counter top. The tip set wasn't the best either but being how shy I am I paid and tipped accordingly but will NOT be returning. read more

I just love this place. It's been consistent every time so far. The entire place is just super neat, organized and clean. They are very diligent about cleanliness and sterility. All the instruments are always fresh out of the pack as they should be! They use a brand new nail filer and buffer per person. I am always very happy and relaxed when I leave. My nails always come out great. My favorite part is a 10 minute massage from Mary! She gives the best massages and tops it off with a hot towel on your neck and upper back! It's fabulous. Just make sure you always bring cash for tip, they prefer that and I mean who wouldn't? They have an ATM in case, only $1 charge. Not a problem at all. They can get busy .. so I would always call ahead and make an appointment. But if you do walk in they usually take you right away or may have to wait 5-10 mins. Been going here since I was a kid. Talented staff, but over the years they have become too expensive and rush too much. It used to be the best mani/pedi, now after they redid the entire inside it is nothing special. They are always running around and rush through anything that costs less than $50. I recently got a gift card there for three manicures, and EACH time the polish dried bubbly because they put so many thick coats on so quickly. Disappointing. I hate when old school favorites get a little uppity. Other than expense, it's a really beautiful salon. One of the biggest I've ever seen and everything is always spotless. They take care of their tools and always use good quality products. In addition, they give free gifts around the holidays and then continue giving out extras for weeks after. Some of the staff is rude because I asked her to put an extra coat on a sheer nail polish. Also, the gel nail manicure should leave your nails very shiny, like glass. At this salon it doesn't. On 2/3/21 I went to Babi nails to get a uv gel manicure for my birthday. The nail tech I had was Sara. The rudest nail tech I've ever met there. I constantly pointed out errors she was making on my nails. She had the audacity to tell me to leave it alone. If I'm paying $80 for a uv gel I would like my nails done to perfection. My nails looked so thick and clumpy. My nails looked atrocious. I left without giving a tip. I always tip on good work. So I left the salon, then returned back to speak with the supervisor. I asked if they could be done over. I showed her how my nails looked and agreed they were thick. She literally told me I didn't give a tip I would have to pay. I told her I always leave a tip. The day I don't give a tip you know the job was horrible. I told her I shouldn't even have to pay for anything. So she did file done a couple nails where the gel was so thick and that was it. I drive 30 minutes to come to this salon and I love it! Every single time I come no matter who does my nails they come out amazing! I get the powder SNS and I find that it's hard to find places that do it well and efficiently. I'm always in and out quickly, I would recommend scheduling and appointment because it gets super busy! But even when they are busy there are enough staff to have a person in every single chair, they get people in and out but do an amazing job! I even recommended the place to my boyfriend who drove past a million times because how busy it looks, but he said he was still in and out in about 30 minutes, and his nails came out great. read more
