I'm a Bloomies girl. Since I was young I had the shirts given to me by my Aunt and my parents, which read 'Bloomies girl'. This location was my old haunt- for shopping that is;) easy for a shopping run with a friend during college for an outfit for that evening out. Always a wonderful denim selection. I LOVE Bloomingdale's as a whole. Even though this review as 5 stars, that's for the store as a WHOLE. If I could give negative stars to the 3 women in the men's department I would. Buyer beware of the women working in the men's department. If there are only women there, go elsewhere to checkout. Don't deal with them. I walked into the men's department to buy my husband a shirt and shorts he wanted. Needless to say, I walked out of the store without buying anything thanks to the people in the men's department. So the store not only lost a sale because I went elsewhere, but the women in the men's department need some serious customer relations training. I'm an adult who's 10 or more feet away from you. Not near you or anyone else in a completely DEAD department store. (the store was dead around noon on Wednesday (August 5, 2020) Don't you dare tell me what to do. All three of them just stared me down, made rude comments and then were completely rude TELLING me, NOT asking me, to put my mask on. I was walking towards the mens clothing section and these 3 female employees at the register, stared me down, made a rude comment "Oh look there's another one", and the woman behind the register was rude in telling me, "Put your mask on AND cover your nose". I was taken back and stared her down for a few seconds. Like was she seriously just THAT RUDE to me? I complained to management about how incredibly rude they were. I'm NOT a complainer, but they were just so incredibly rude. I wasn't around anyone. I understand you're supposed to wear a mask inside stores. But it's NOT mandatory. It's a SUGGESTION. It's a GUIDELINE. The signs outside of the store don't say it's mandatory. I have no problem wearing the mask, but it's all a matter of how you say it. They were just nasty. And there's no reason to be rude or nasty esp not when you're the employee speaking to a customer. It was just uncalled for rudeness. FYI I have a problem breathing through the mask. So for me to take it off and take a breath of fresh air and have something to drink I am able to breathe! Plus, FYI, they're saying the masks make you sick because you're breathing in your own breath and germs all day and that's just as bad or worse for you. Other countries are NO LONGER doing this. It's not a big deal if you take the mask down to breath or drink. You cannot STOP me from drinking, no matter what, it doesn't matter where I am. I also had a baby with me, you're gonna tell me my baby has to wear a mask too? Is that the next step? I'm a customer, there's a way to say things politely. But you 100% do NOT stare customers down or make rude comments about them before you TELL them, not even ask them, to do something. That's just incredibly rude. Did you NOT think I could hear your rude comments? Did you NOT think I wouldn't speak with management about your POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS? I really think all three of those female employees NEED to go back to CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING and LEARN how to speak to customers before they're put on the sales floor. They should have to take a customer service class every year to improve their skills and improve how they speak with and handle customers. If it wasn't for the customers they wouldn't have a job. If they're that worried about getting sick, maybe they shouldn't be working. If they're that worried about others taking a breath of fresh air and drinking in their presence, maybe they shouldn't be working. I'm sure ALL three of those women take their masks off periodically during the day ON THE SALES FLOOR to have a breath of fresh air and to have something to drink when NO ONE is around. I worked in retail for 11 years (from 2001-2012), and I would NEVER speak to a customer like that, nor would I ever make rude comments IN FRONT of the customer with them being in ear shot! Incredibly rude! Maybe they felt more confident and safe because they were in a group and I was a solo shopper with an infant. Regardless of how they felt, it was still incredibly rude! I left retail, not because of the co-workers, but because of POOR MANAGEMENT and RUDE CUSTOMERS! But never once was I rude to a customer walking passed me. Never once was I rude to a customer who asked for my help. Never once was I rude to a customer who wasn't rude to me. Never once was I rude to a customer for NO REASON. Moral of the story? You ASK ME in a POLITE AND RESPECTFUL MANNER to do something. It's not that hard to show others the respect you want shown to you. That's the bottom line. read more

This is with regard to the Phone and Internet department only. Customer of Bloomingdales since the 1980s, credit card holder since 1995. Always shop there or online, for 30+ years. Last three orders were cancelled from the "customer protection department". Have to call 800 number, which puts you into the Philippines, where the agents there have a hard time understanding simple English. Forced to ask for someone in the US, and spoke to Jessica McIntyre, on 513 573-2093. After going back and forth for 1/2 hour, she determined that all was ok with my account and could not understand why my orders kept getting cancelled. To make this right, she had my order sent overnight mail to arrive Friday, 10/12. Free shipping and 20% off. Lo and behold, Friday came and went with no delivery. Called Bloomingdales and found it was now scheduled for Monday. The agent had no idea why it was not sent overnight, as Ms. McIntyre had promised. Now, my daughter's items wont' arrive on time for her Birthday, directly because Bloomindales failed. I never have this problem at Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus or Saks. Why? I can understand if you re ordering a fur coat for $10,000, but a lousy $200 kids clothing order needs to be vetted more than the supreme court justice? Outrageous. As I type this, I am now on hold for 1 hour with customer service - and they still can't get things right. After this, I will never shop again in this store and send all my business elsewhere. I think the only dept I may get somewhat ignored is the handbag section but everywhere else, everyone is helpful. Plus Pat in the Home dept is awesome! She was super helpful when we were shopping for a toaster and nespresso machine and totally made sure we were happy with our purchases. After Sandy she even called to see how we were doing and to let us know that they were welcoming customers to their store to get warm and charge their phones since there were so many people without power/heat. Anyone who compares the Huntington location to the 59/Lexington location is comparing apples to oranges. The selection at the Huntington location is what sells in suburbia, and is not random. I agree with most regarding service, but I for one do not need to bother by a salesperson until I've focused on what I want. If your a lawyer(lol) and have money to spend, rather than wait for a salesperson to recognize how important you are, why not take two minutes of your time and approach one? You are not special. Lazy is the one word I would use to describe the people who work in this store. I just have walked around for no exaggeration 15 minutes asking employees for a dressing room whom were standing behind the registers on their phones texting and giving me an answer like oh it's over there. I'd go over and they were all locked when I asked for them to be opened I was told they didn't have a key. The same thing happened when I went downstairs to try on shoes. I'm about to drop over $200 on a pair of shoes a little attention would be nice in an upscale department store. If I could give this store zero stars I would have. I placed an online order for a pair of shoes to be picked up in store. Since I worked all day I had my boyfriend pick the shoes up. Being in healthcare I cannot have my phone on me at all times. This review is for an experience I had over the phone. I called in from out of state looking for a pair of leggings. I was told by associates at 2 other Bloomingdales that this location might have a pair I could have sent to me. My experience was far from pleasant. When I called the sales associate I spoke with was incredibly unhelpful, rude and condescending. Before even checking the system she said they didn't have them. She finally agreed to look up the item, but refused to look for it even though they supposedly had 1 pair in store. (I'm not even sure that she looked the item up!) I know that sometimes their inventory list may not be updated, but all I was asking was for her to check and physically confirm if the item was indeed there or not. I finally asked to speak to a manager and the associate didn't want to transfer me. After asking again several times to speak with a manager I was transferred. The manager said she would look and see if they had the item. I will update once/if I hear back from the store. *Update The manager kept true to her word and called me back to give me an update. She couldn't find the leggings, but I appreciate that she took time to search and call me back. I've added 1 more star to reflect this. read more

We bought a bag online. When I placed the order it said to wait for a new email; we never received an email. When I was waiting for the new email, I logged on to the original order and then it said that it is ready to be picked up at the store and that I have only four days to pick it up. When I went to the store, they couldn't find my order. The woman behind the desk at customer service was rude and she made me feel like an idiot in front of a lot of people there. She didn't apologize and told me that I did receive the email when I did not. Finally, she went back to the room and she magically found my order. She didn't apologize and people spend so much money at this store and the service sucks. The store is wonderful and beautiful but the workers are not good. Walked us through all the different Shifman mattresses, told us about the sales, discounts. She also told us that she went to the actual factory in Jersey to see how their made. Second: the delivery experience: The memo that the delivery guy gave us, had a checklist of what the customer expects. - white glove service -NOT! no gloves whatsoever Customer will get a call when they are on their way - NOT! (the email we got a few days earlier gave us a 2 hour window...but the email was very tiny, confusing, you had to search through the tiny words) The delivery people will prepare and protect your walls & floors - NOT! The delivery people will take out your old mattresses - NOT! (We had to tell them to do it, they had no clue that they were doing it) The delivery people will vacuum & clean area - NOT! (again, they were completely unaware that they were supposed to do it) I had to do it while they stood there waiting) They threw the old mattress on top of my personal things on the floor, and knocked down the lamp on the wall on the front porch. Barely spoke English. We called Bloomingdales store and customer service. They sent us a gift card as compensation. By the way, Shifman mattresses are great! read more

I went to the store to purchase some Kiehl's products on a Holiday weekend. I stood bye the Kiehl's department for 10 minutes and no one was there to assist. Finally someone walked by and asked me If I needed help. Clearly I was not standing there waiting for a bus. That person could not help me for some reason and she told me to look for someone that can help. I walked around for a few minutes and found an employee that was taking care of another woman. I waited for another few minutes while the employee was talking about opening up a credit card and the customer didn't speak English. I finally decided to walk out of the store before I said something that was not going to be pleasant. shame on the store manager for not having enough people in the store over the weekend. I went onto Amazon and bought all of my product in less than one minute and I received them 2 days later. The retailers are complaining about Amazon but how can they complain with such poor customer service. This group of times are now on my shopping list from Amazon moving forward. Love this Bloomingdales location but had a horrible experience this weekend. I had scooped out two items I saw on website and wanted to pick up at store , I went and both items were no where to be found. The item in computer said they had 1 but they couldn't locate it. I had to order the boots online and before I did the same with the scarf I went to check the color at Saks. I ended up hating it and decided to go with a more expensive scarf and that meant I needed to cancel the boot order. I called to cancel and they refunded me right away! So nice!! Monday morning the refund disappeared and the charge appeared back. I called and customer service had me on hold for 30 minutes!!!!!! I came into this Bloomingdale's for an in store pick up. I was not sure where to pick up the item so I approached the area where the brand was sold. I was greeted with annoyance and attitude by 2 employees that were too enthralled in their own conversation. Eventually I was told to go to customer service on the lower level, once I got there I was ignored by multiple employees who I asked to help find the desk. Ultimately I found it, received my item and found that my rather expensive coat was placed in a plastic bag without a garment bag or shopping bag to carry it in. So I went back upstairs to ask for one, I was told that they did not have garment bags and perhaps men's suits would have it. I don't understand how a garment bag is not standard, I have purchased coats at the Soho location and received a garment bag without asking for one. I bought a Roberto Coin necklace from my usual salesperson at Bloomingdale's at Walt Whitman. I realized when I got home that she had given me a bracelet box, not a necklace box. I actually needed the box to keep the necklace from tangling. So today I went back to the Jewelry department, but my usual SA wasn't in. I was ignored but waited patiently. Then when a saleswoman seemed free, I explained the situation and asked for a more appropriate box. She had such a cold attitude. Asking me why would my SA give me this box? I don't know! I offered to show her my receipt. She just seemed very annoyed to have to do something for me, I guess it wasn't her sale? Well guess what Bloomingdale's employees? It looks really bad when you can't be bothered to help another salesperson's customer! Just say "I'm sorry you had to come back. Let me get you the correct box. I'll tell (insert original SA's name here) you stopped by". And then when the customer thanks you, can you say "You're welcome"!? That would be lovely. Then perhaps I wouldn't feel like I'm ruining your day. I shop ALOT at this location, it's near my home. I actually prefer it to RF, which I find so big it's overwhelming. But even though I am a familiar face, I find some of the salespeople to be very moody. Sometimes there is talking behind your back (I can hear you)! I'm sorry if you're having a bad day, or if being an SA isn't your dream job, but I think being hostile to the customers pretty much destroys any hope at being successful where you're working. Just waiting on people with a good attitude would probably make the day go faster. And possibly bring future sales. read more

The men's section is great considering the size of the store. The store is right sized for its location. If you are expecting to have the same selection of labels as the Roosevelt field or Lexington Avenue stores, you are delusional. The cellar cafe is fine. To buyers at Bloomingdales Beware of calling your orders in over the phone the sales help do not honor sale prices and Bloomingdales credit card specials they offer over the phone when they previously state that they will. I had an outrageous experience today so take the time to read it and perhaps you will avoid the same problems. A few days ago on June 18 I was in Bloomingdales in Huntington. I went to the linen dept in housewares. I was looking at a set of bed linens by Calvin Klein that was very expensive. The sale lady Deepa walked over to me and introduced herself and explained that the set I wanted to buy was at a discount of 40 percent off and if I used my Bloomingdales charge there would be an additional 20 percent off however the sale ended on June 22. If I called her then I could get the prices quoted and order over the phone. On Sunday June 22 I called the linen dept. and spoke to a girl named Samantha in linens who took my order because Deepa the original salesgirl was not in at the time. She took all the info and I asked her if the set was to be ordered and she took my email and said as he would place the order. That night after 7 Pm i get an email form Deepa saying she will place my order. How confusing..... the other girl said she placed the order and took my email to send a confirmation. To make a long story short ....today Tuesday June 24 Deepa the original sales girl finally called me back after 3 phone messages and 2 emails. I place the order again with her because the order was not placed on Sunday... however the pricing she told me was all wrong, not the price she told me originally ..... and now she said that I could not get that price since it was over on Sunday, I objected to this and told her that I ordered the set on Sunday. Then she told me she will have to talk to her manager Mimi. I wonder what the next step will be for a simple transaction that is easily completed by a competent sales person. What a BS story of incompetence this sales girl has and obviously Bloomingdales does not train the sales associates appropriately. Bloomingdales better get its act together I hope the Linens manager of the Department reads this because this sales associate has no idea how to act professionally. As of today the phone order remains in place , lets see what the next step is if they honor the prices as I ordered them on Sunday when those were the prices offered. Or if I have to continue this idiocy with a store I thought was reputable. Retail brick and mortar stores wonder why the Internet is putting them out of business. I buy more on the Internet because I get the pricing stated and I get products shipped ASAp. Not this kind of BS and round about story. Bloomingdales has some incompetent people working for them and stating sales and prices that they then do not honor. I hope management can figure out this problem. This is my favorite Bloomies location, I probably shop here once a month if not more. While it is smaller than Roosevelt field mall Bloomies, it's much warmer and then employees know and greet you by name. Cesar is by far my favorite associate, super friendly and helpful and always goes the extra mile. They have good sales and of course a restaurant downstairs that serves up food that is consistent with all Bloomie standards. read more

My experience dealing with the Huntington location was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. I spoke to Caroline and Marie who were both very unhelpful and rude! I asked them if I could return a bag I purchased that I had the receipt for and they told me no because I did not have the tags and it looked damaged. I went on a Friday and was told to contact the manager Jen on Monday. When I called on Monday I was told she was off. When I called back on Tuesday I was told there is no manager named Jen that the managers name was Dawn. I spoke with Dawn who also wasn't helpful and told me if they wouldn't take it back when I came in there is nothing she could do. I've spent a lot of money in this store ESPECIALLY over the last few months. I then went to the Roosevelt field mall location where they were very pleasant and took the bag back with no problems. This has been my first time actually purchasing something at a Bloomingdales. I usually feel pressured and pushed to buy things. However with the help of Luisa, this was not the case. She was very patient and polite and extremely helpful. Even when other customers demanded her attention she politely told them that she would be with them in a minute. Being that I have been in retail before I told her to help them and I would continue to shop around. She quickly helped the panicky lady and found her way back to me. At this point I had picked out a bag and a wallet on top of the Burberry coat she originally helped me pick out. I'm never the type to sign up for credit cards/loyalty cards but Luisa signed me up for both. The whole experience was enjoyable and she is not pushy or berates you to buy things. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, if you ever go into this Bloomingdale's to seek out her help. She is honest, helpful, and extremely charming. My mother and I have been shopping at this location for 15+ years. We were very good loyal customers over the years and very well known in the jewelry/ woman's shoe department (spending $$$$ within one visit). I had applied for a job at Bloomingdales a few months ago and found out that was a terrible mistake and a waste of my time. The HR department is TERRIBLE!! The staff was very standoffish and very peculiar. I called and emailed the HR department numerous times with questions regarding the employee positions and I NEVER got a response. Staff is extremely rude . I went in during a not so busy hour to buy a bag. The bag says online not available to ship but it's available to pick up in store. The lady in the bag section kept saying that she doesn't have the bag so I told her that the website was saying that if I ordered it online it would be available to pick up in one hour. She repeated that they did not have the bag after searching the section where the bag was located. so I left the store. I then went back and asked her to check the computer because I came all the way to the store and I obviously wanted the bag. I show her what it says online and she reluctantly checked the computer . She then got her manager and asked the manager if the bag was in store. The manager said no and the sales rep said "that's what I told her but she keeps saying it is here" . I didn't "keep saying it's here" the website says it's in the store and how rude. I obviously came to the store because I wanted to buy the bag and I didn't want to just leave without making sure I couldn't get it because the website says not available to shop . Also when the sales rep asked the manager the manager retorted that they didn't have the bag and she doesn't care what the website says. Just so stinking rude. The whole experience was terrible. I will never go to this Bloomingdale's again. The manager should be setting an example for good customer service . Not encouraging her staff to be rude regardless of how many times I asked for the bag. She made me feel like I was nuisance when I was coming in to spend money.
