This review is for Bloomingdale's in Sherman Oaks. I usually don't write negative reviews, but my experience in this store was really bad. I waited for 15 minutes for the sale associate to maybe acknowledge me and open the locked cabinet for purses. I have been looking to purchase an Evelyn bag for a while. When I saw it at this location I was so excited. Mind you, sale associate was drinking coffee the whole time I was waiting there. When asked for help the other employee was busy with another customer and told me give me a second. Another lady walked by and the associate who didn't bother helping me. He went right away and helped her and the funny part is that she didn't buy anything. Sir, I didn't lose anything. You lost a commission. I bet commission was more than his Starbucks coffee. This was last time going to this location. I shopped at that store a lot before, but this was the first I was humiliated like this. I don't recommend shopping at this store especially accessories and hand bag department. read more

I am disturbed with my experience here. My wife loves bloomingdale's, she even has her own credit card with Bloomingdale's on it. My wife is a very busy woman. She has had covid what seems like 18 times and the way they wouldn't let her return her items had us appalled. She even had to cancel her Brunch because of this predicament. This is the Bloomingdales in the Beverly Center. I'm sorry to say it but I did not have a good experience here. First, it is hard to find someone to help you. Secondly, the customer service is bad. The women who work here seemed very unhappy. No one had a smile on their face and they seemed annoyed when I asked them questions. I had to return a product that didn't work as expected and my salesperson did not make me feel very good about it. I'm sorry that my product did not work out. I really wish it did. I don't like doing returns any more than the next person. It was a product I used once and, unfortunately, did not deliver as promised. If I knew Bloomingdale's had such a poor return policy I would not shop there for makeup again. Other makeup stores are much nicer when it comes to returns of gently used makeup and understand that sometimes, things don't work out. There are enough options out there that we shoppers can find what we like elsewhere. Consumers shouldn't be made to feel bad about having to return a product that didn't work as expected. However, I do feel that how a store acts when shoppers are returning something as opposed to buying something new really shows the true colors of the customer service of the store. Noted. I'm not sure what's going on at this particular location but it makes me not want to shop here. It was unpleasant. Buying makeup should be a joyous experience. Customer's should be made to feel appreciated. It wasn't busy here on a Sunday afternoon. If you must shop at Bloomingdale's for your makeup, go to another location (there's one in the Westfield Century City Mall and according to the online store, the return policy lets your return gently used makeup--shop online!) or if you prefer to come to this mall, go to Sephora or Nordstrom's (they carry the same lines) for your beauty needs. And, they are so nice in there! On top of that, this is the one Bloomingdale's that doesn't validate your parking. The only places to get validated are if you eat at the pricey restaurants on the bottom level (they validate for 3 hours) . There is no free parking otherwise no matter how long you are at the mall. I would like to share my experience about the Tom Ford section and especially about the service that I received from Aimee Hart. This girl is very sophisticated, intelligent and has really deep knowledge in the matter of perfumery. She told us about each fragrance in detail and even showed how they can be combined together and get your own unique flavor of Tom Ford. After such a detailed and friendly service, of course, we returned for our Christmas shopping only to her! I wish I could split this review. They are getting 2 stars ONLY because of Sona there, otherwise it would be 1. This store is going through a lot of construction, so it's kind of a mess right now. When I went, I bought Bobbi Brown products from someone who doesn't usually sell them. She also sold me on a "pre-sale" option, where my order would get shipped to my house and I'd get a free gift shipped with it. I'm not sure why I couldn't just walk out of the store with my products, but I wish I had. I was told my order would get to my house in 2 weeks. After 3 weeks, I called, and they said they would overnight it (which I learned wasn't possible for them to do). I called on a Wednesday and the girl who answered (I won't say her name here because I'm not trying to throw anyone under the bus for how unorganized this entire store is) said she was personally walking my order down to shipping to ship out ASAP. I called again on Saturday and my order STILL hadn't been shipped out, 3 days later. A male there said he'd personally deliver to my house, and I gave him a time frame (that I'd leave around 2pm the next day). I still hadn't heard from him by noon, so I told Sona to just forget it and send my stuff to my house and I'd get it after I went on vacation for a week (I wanted them before my trip though). Sona threw in a lot of extra products with my shipment, which was very nice of her, but I still have a bitter taste in my mouth with how things were handled and why it took me a month, basically, to get the products I could've just walked out of the store with, but I had to get my free, cheap tote bag shipped to me for some stupid reason. read more

THE WORST BLOOMINGDALES I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Let me start by saying that I will forever be a Nordstrom girl. If there was any chance of Bloomies taking that, it's now gone. I have never experienced worse customer service at a department store in my life. I am an avid skincare junkie - a true believer in the idea that if you invest in your skin now, it means less mess and less makeup later. I learned that Estée Lauder was having their gift with purchase promo going on online so I had called in that morning to see if it was in stores as well. A woman named Majda answered and assured me that it was - and that it was "much better" to buy in stores too. LOL. She was pleasant and I thanked her until she tried to sell me on their awful credit card. Ok no thanks. So I get ready a few hours later to go down and buy my holy grail of serum - Advanced Night Repair - all really excited to also receive the gift in addition. When I got there, the associates were just talking to each other and paid me no mind. So finally I asked another girl, but she was hesitant to help and had no idea about the gift with purchase. So I asked her to find someone that works the Estée Lauder counter. Then a woman named Amina comes... Immediately Amina tells me that the gift with purchase won't begin until tomorrow, but they have the gift here. Apparently she just cannot give it to me, so she suggests I buy what I need and come back tomorrow for the gift. LMAO UM WHAT? Do you realize this is Los Angeles and you think I'm going to drive through more traffic to pick up something tomorrow that I was advised I would get today? No honey. I questioned why I was ill informed by Majda, and Amina rolls her eyes and tells me she can "make an exception and just give me the gift tonight." Duh!!! Why is that a big deal?! So I said great! Thanks! I tell her what I need and which gift box I'd like. Then I go to the counter to pay. At the counter there is a HUGE SIGN that says "Every $25 spent at Estée Lauder also gets you a deluxe sample of _____!" I'm thinking GREAT! This trip was SO WORTH IT! I remind her of the sign and she chuckles and AGAIN rolls her eyes. "No, you cannot get both the gift and the samples for spending $65." I asked her why as it doesn't say that ANYWHERE IN THE SMALL TERMS AS IM READING THEM. Literally nothing. She tells me that's what her manager says. At this point, I'm in disbelief. Not only are you UNHELPFUL, but you're making ME FEEL BAD for things that YOUR COMPANY is PROMOTING. I told her that it didn't say any of those conditions in the terms paragraph. She SIGHS REALLY LOUD, and throws ONE little sample of something in my bag. I'm just disgusted. Don't treat me like that. I thanked her and walked away, knowing I should have requested to speak to a manager. When I get out of the store, I noticed she didn't even give me the gift. The make up bag was missing. At this point I am fuming and feel really disrespected. So disappointed. There's a reason Nordstrom has the loyalty and business it is. TEACH YOUR EMPLOYEES SOME MANNERS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. Best place in L.A to get your Brows done! Coco made my brows look amazing in 25 mins. for only $20. Not only were my brows perfectly shaped a counter girl touched up my makeup, so I left the counter glowing not red and bumpy. I recently went into this store needing help because my skin was going crazy from constant flying all over. Luckily I met EULA at SKII and she helped me with an amazing skincare routine and since my skin has never looked more hydrated and glowing. She is really smart and really fun! This is the BEST place to get your brows done in Los Angeles! I have been to several places in the LA area for my brows and was never satisfied until I found Barbara at the Benefit Brow Bar. She keeps my brows beautifully arched without making them too thin. And, when I couldn't use wax for a period of time, she was still the master, tweezing them to perfection! Caution, fair 'brownbag shoppers'!!!! When exiting the upper level of Bloomies, you may come under the attack of one of the most charming counter-men you could possibly encounter... His name is Willie F. and he is the counter manager at this Bloomingdale's location, and he will not let you out the door looking sad nor ugly. I was sick and tired and not wanting to be in the Beverly Center (because apart from 'for the love KM and H&M', why would anyone want to be there?) and I was smoothly thrown up on the chair and made into a glowing healthy looking goddess type. I escaped with only purchasing some Bad Girl mascara from Benefit, but honestly if I wasn't such a miserly sort, I could easily have spent hundreds at the hands of this lovely makeup guy. Beware! They do great eye lash extensions too! Benefit by far gives the best customer service at this Bloomingdales location. They always touch up my makeup afterwards too! Mixed reviews. Everyone working is friendly, knowledgeable and quite helpful re. the Benefit brand products. AWESOME for makeup!!! However, re. the Brow Bar, it's a different story. Barbara - who's an amazing artist - used to shape my brows at the Brow Bar. She's since left, so I went to someone else there... She was very friendly and a good person. I'm only commenting on her brow shaping. I left my appointment thinking my brows looked pretty good, until I washed off the makeup that had been used to fill-in an uneven job. A part of one of my brows was plucked and tweezed WAY too thin - it was definitely a normal thickness BEFORE my appointment and now I'm stuck with needing to grow it out, if I even can!!! I'm so upset - I've even shed a few tears as brows don't always grow back... - because I took a good amount of time explaining what I want, understanding 'the plan' and specifically pin-pointing that I do NOT want thin brows. ARGH. I will not return here for my brows. I'd rather shell out 3x as much money to goto Anastasia or Damone Roberts. Remember that not everyone is an artist. Training and experience does NOT mean a person is talented at his or her skill... this goes for any trick or trade but definitely describes the art of brow shaping. Barbara Silveyra has been shaping my brows now for almost a year and not only has it made me feel better about myself but has given me a great pick me up when I'm down. I went there and had my brows done by Adina. She was amazing! Has a great eye and was able to perfectly balance my brows to the shape of my face. I liked her so much I went again last week. Unfortunately, Adina doesn't work there anymore. When I asked where, they wouldn't tell me but told me anyone there could help me. I reluctantly agreed. AMATEUR HOUR!!!!! They screwed my brows up and just tried to sell me their stupid worthless products. They are HORRIBLE!!!! I found out that Adina works at BILLION DOLLAR BROWS in Beverly Hills and went to see her yesterday. Thank God!!!
