Today after shopping we had lunch at 59th and Lex Cafe on the third floor of Bloomingdales, Fashion Valley mall. What a surprise to find high quality food at a department store cafe! Jennifer was our server and she was outstanding! I ate my salmon plate so quickly that I have no food pics! It came with sugar snap peas and spiced jasmine rice. The sweet sauce on the plate was perfect with the lunch plate! Espresso drinks here are very good too! Highly recommend!! read more

Went earlier today. Customer service quality has dropped a good amount. At times basically doing staff's job because I wasn't important enough to help. And I let them re rack thing, which I don't do because I have respect for the people that took pride in the job. I also noticed flaws in some shirts. A couple had holes in them. Another person had me sign up for something that I was supposed to be already signed up for but wasn't. Then they read off a total that wasn't really true. Not really caring, I get how the job is. Some people had really good customer support/service skills. And some didn't. But what's concerning is it's based on personal bias. I left Nordstrom Rack for here bloomingdales... Service is great! I was greeted by the doorman/security guard there with a huge smile. They have a huge selection of clothes that are reasonable priced. They also have lots of overtop the options. See posted pics. I was there looking for Christmas gifts and found the perfect item! The girls at the registers were super friendly too! I wanted to check out The Bloomingdales outlet. With outlet as the word, I would think items here are a little more affordable and In my price range. As I walked in the store, it was fairly neat and organized. I definitely found a pair of pink Guess tennis shoes that cost $29.99. Sold to me! Luckily they had my size so I snatched them up. I didn't want to shop for clothing but stuff here looked affordable depending on what you get. I love shoes and saw a pair that I can match with my pink jeans. When I got up to pay for it, the guy mentioned a rewards program which was free to sign up for. All you do is show your driver's license. You give the guy your phone number. It was easy. The more points you accumulate the more you get on discounts or cash back. I definitely like this store. A little more affordable for me when I have extra money. I may shop here when I have extra money. They are located inside Westfield Mission Valley mall near the food court. read more

The quality is usually good, and it's usually kept up pretty well. It's at a weird location of the mall (like North-east corner near Michael's Crafts), so it's difficult to sometimes get parking right near there. Located at the Westfield mall, specifically next door to Tender Greens and Nordstrom Rack (the side facing Off 5th to give you a better idea where this store is at). I have only heard of the Bloomingdale's Outlet but have never actually been to one so decided to head over and take a look. The set up of this store is very similar to Off 5th, with the same layout and store signage/ organization. Everything was very neat and clean and organized in a logical way. But I did find it kind of strange that the registers are in the back of the store instead of the front (you will find it next to the dressing rooms). The shoe section (for both men and women) is rather small. For each shoe size, there was only a small little row to walk through. That was rather disappointing for me because whenever I go into a clothing store, I love to check out the shoes and handbags section first, then the accesories and clothing (usually in that general order). This store in general is rather on the small side too. Overall, didn't find anything that caught my eye, but that is probably better for my wallet (but really it just makes me prefer to shop at the regular Bloomingdale's store instead of the outlet). read more

I didn't even know there was a Bloomingdale's Outlet until I recently noticed it when looking online, so I knew I had to visit this place on the way to San Diego. It's at the Westfield at Mission Valley Mall at 1646 Camino Del Rio North in San Diego, CA 92108. I included the address because many searches don't bring up this one...only the one in Orange, CA. I could have bought a couple pairs of shorts, but I didn't. The prices were good for them though. The store isn't that big, not that bigger is always better, but when it comes to stores, bigger will have a bigger selection. To me, this was OK, so I was somewhat disappointed. Welcome to SD! I came in during their grand opening this past weekend. This new Bloomingdales Outlet store is right across from Nordstrom Rack in the old Loehmann's location. It is fairly large. They did have a lot of additional markdowns. The place was packed! The line was crazy but they were offering a mystery scratcher promotion where you could get up to 50% off your total purchase for the day. Bought pair of Converse tennis shoes for my daughter. She's been wearing Converse for a few years. They fit her well and come in cute patterns. She measured at about a size 5. We found another cute pair here that were marked size 5. All good, right? We tried them on her, had her walk around the store, pressed her toes to make sure she had enough room, and everything seemed great. She wore the shoes to school the next day and came home with huge, horrible blisters. We were horrified. We examined the shoes and determined that her new size 5 shoes were only a half centimeter bigger than her old size 3 shoes. This sounds like either a defective item or some other manufacturing snafu, right? Bloomingdales should stand behind the products they sell. Unfortunately, they adhere to a policy of once you remove the tags, it's yours. When we went in to return or exchange the shoes, they were unhelpful to the point of refusing to even look at the receipt and asking "how do you expect us to sell these?" Um, I expect you to try to help me if I pay for a pair of shoes that are defective and are not marked correctly. The person at the register even decided to add insult to injury by offering a 25% discount on another pair of shoes. Why would I ever buy anything at your store if I know that you aren't willing to stand behind your products? This was not a case of buying the wrong size shoe. This was a case of said item not being what it was supposed to be. Did I mention that this the first time we shopped here? Unfortunately, it was also the last. In a nutshell, this is a discount store that sells low quality merchandise in a little brown bag that they don't have the decency or honesty to stand behind. AVOID. read more

So I am a little bit of a label whore, and of course I was happy when I found out that Mission Valley mall was going to have a bloomies outlet. I know this place has been open for a while, but today was my first time going. To be honest, I only came here to look at the handbags, hoping that I'd luck out and find a discounted Prada or Gucci. I was disappointed. Most of the bags here are great but not high end, and even then, the styles are limited. You're much better off getting a prettier purse at the Coach or Kate Spade outlets. Or if you want a premier designer handbag, try Barney's or Off 5th. Their clothes and shoes selection on the other hand was really awesome! TONS of stuff is heavily discounted and they have a wide range of sizes. Some stuff is marked down as much as 75%! I was ecstatic that I was able to score some Steve Madden boots 60% less than retail. I have been looking for boots forever and was really happy that this outlet had some good quality shoes for me to try on and pick at my leisure. The shoes and clothing selection beats Nordstrom Rack hands-down. FYI, one weird thing about this store is that the register is all the way at the back of the store. I came during a busy day but the line went quickly as there were a ton of registers open. Anyway, My shoes were packed away in the outlet's "brown bag", and I happily went on my merry way. I definitely recommend coming to this store and at least checking out the selection of stuff they have here. When I moved back to San Diego I was pleasantly surprised that there was a Bloomingdale's Outlet right near a lot of other stores I already need to go (Costco, Staples, Best Buy, Tj's, Target). I "use" to shop at the main Bloomingdale's stores where I lived, after my experiences at this store vs their main store in Fashion Valley... Bloomingdale's in FV can save their rude attitudes for someone who takes it and keeps paying double, I would gladly spend my money here where I buy the same shirts, jeans, shorts, etc for 1/3 the price and no ego/obnoxious attitude along with it. This store tries hard to stock what people want, in the sizes I ask for, and to keep it all somewhat easy to find and not have to feel like you are sifting through a bombed out N... Rack at Christmas with everything thrown around the store by entitled or bitter freaks. For some reason people feel the need to do this at outlets (literally throw things around the store wherever they want like the employees have nothing better to do, they do it all day across the way at the Rack) it's much more civilized, clean & organized here. I get in and out in less than 20min as they carry the few brands I like and stock them regularly. Pretty simple and a positive experience every time... The prices are decent, but look for the clearance items - anything with a green tag is an extra 40% off and anything with a red tag is an extra 50% off - these offer the best deals. This just opened not too long ago in Mission Valley, I have to say I'm a fan. They have good prices for moderate price brands that I'm familiar with. They do have a couple higher end brands, reasonably priced here. I really like the additional off on their clearance rack. If you're in the mood to shop and hunt, this a good place to go. I found some really good deals and tried on some fashions I wasn't too sure about and wanted to try. Their clothes and shoes are excellent. If you're looking for super high end shoes or super high end label purses, this is not the place for you; go to the original store for that. read more

I absolutely love Bloomingdales outlet at Mission Valley! I discovered it just shortly after it opened and now I am a frequent customer. The team is very friendly and most of them were there to set up and open this location . They have a HAPPY HOUR on Fridays where you never know what the "deal" will be.- but it's always something good!! There is always a door greeter that informs you of all the deals and is just a cheerful person to have up front as a first impression! Janet has become like a personal shopper to me. Husband posting on my wife's account: I had a great experience suit shopping here with helpful associates Tommie and Kim. As a surfer, I don't often put on a business suit, but due to an upcoming job interview, I had to get it together. My wife was out of town, so I needed all the help I could get. After getting my measurements taken at Nordstrom, but being hesitant to drop $800 on a suit, I went to Bloomingdales outlet to see if I could find something similar. Kim and Tommie helped me find two awesome suits that were a fraction of the price, accessorize them with shirts, belt, and shoes, and I got out of there having down $750 and looking just as sharp as I would have if I spent the cash at Nordstrom. Tommie has a great eye for fashion and helped me find things that went well together. I definitely don't love shopping, but this was as easy and good as it gets.
