Miranda is an amazing photographer! We did a family photo shoot with an infant, a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old. I THAT is NOT easy!! She still managed to capture some beautiful photos. She made my kids feel at ease and they loved the entire experience. I also did a head shot session with her and it was incredible. I'm VERY picky, but I loved several shots that Miranda captured. Again, she made me feel at ease and was able to pull out a lot of emotion and confidence throughout the shoot. Instead of kindly contacting me all this woman is doing is BULLYING and BASHING me on yelp. I do not even need to respond to the negativity. I had a bad experience and did a yelp review. You truly see someone's character after the fact. She did not care we were not satisfied until I wrote a review, I gave her the chance to help us. We were not happy with our photos, it was taken with light coming from the side so half our faces were shadowed which is more of an artsy look not business professional. My hair is blowing a lot due to a fan that was used. Very dark overall photo. I won't even talk about my pose and smile, I didn't feel like it captured the image we want. Also our group photo looks like a cheesy family portrait. But that isn't why I'm giving one star. The one star is because we weren't offered a reshoot or any type of partial refund even though I will not be using my photos. She took our $1400 and said sorry, to try somewhere else and was very condescending. I've taken many business photos in my 12 years in my career and have never been not satisfied. Just let me start out by saying that I didn't hire Miranda for my wedding. I believe that she is incredibly talented and her photos are beautifully done. That being said, there were a few reasons why I decided not to go with her. As far as her pricing went, it was over my budget for what I was looking for. I know she encourages her clients who have a tighter budget to spend the money for a good portrait session so they can at least know they'll have some good photos, but for the amount of money I was looking to spend, I wanted more than portraits- I wanted the whole shebang! She's an incredibly warm person, and she will tell you up front that her clients all become like family to her. That's great, and I completely understand that she's just wired to love everyone she comes into contact with. For me, however, I feel like that doesn't make for as good photos. If I wanted pictures that felt like they were taken by a family member, then I would have asked a family member to take them. I know that she's incredibly close with a musician. When we spoke on the phone prior to our consultation, I told her that it just wasn't in my budget to have a live musician play at our ceremony, and that I had already arranged to have my DJ provide all the ceremony music. She strongly encouraged me to rethink this as it makes for a better overall experience. During our consultation, imagine my surprise when her roommate/best friend/musician is invited into our meeting with her guitar. Don't get me wrong, Lina is very talented, and couples who hire her are very lucky to have her. However, bringing in someone for what felt like an audition during a meeting that was supposed to be about photography felt a little off putting. Lastly, I was a little surprised at her pricing. After having a really engaging conversation and talking about what felt like everything from wedding details to family, it felt a little impersonal that at the end of the consult, she handed me an envelope. Even if her pricing is the same for every couple she meets with, it would have been nice to feel like after taking the time to get to know my fiance and I, she could've taken some time to personalize a quote. Again, ultimately, Miranda was out of my budget, and I went with a different photographer who did beautiful work for less money. I have no regrets, but wanted to offer some insight as to why I may not have booked her services. read more

I went to a bridal pampering and Miranda was there giving away engagement sessions and design sessions to all the brides there. I was immediately excited because let's face it.. that's pretty awesome! So I grabbed her card and immediately contacted her. She called me the following day and I have to say- I can't think of a time when I've been more insulted. My fiance and I are college students, both of us working 2 jobs, and my dad is retiring in December so there's only so much he can contribute financially to our wedding (which we totally understand). Therefore, we have a super tight budget and we're doing a LOT of stuff DIY. I'm STOKED for my wedding and I am in love with my theme, colors, the venue, etc... but Miranda had nothing but awful things to say about any of it. In more professional wording, she told me that we were being cheap, that our budget was ridiculously low and we'd never have anything good quality at our price point, and that it was selfish of us not to hire a sitter at a local hotel and do a night wedding so the parents could have a night off from the children. She also dared to tell me that if we don't up our photography budget to at least twice what I spend on my dress, my dress will look ugly in every picture and my pictures will suck. I was appalled. It's one thing for me to tell a vendor, "I'm sorry but we're on a low budget so I can't afford you but thanks for your response, etc..." It's a whole other thing for the vendor to tell you, "Sorry but you can't afford me" after nit-picking why every single detail you've planned is going to result in a chaotic, circus-like wedding day. Well I'm so sorry I'm not rich enough or proper enough for you, Miranda, but as far as I'm concerned- I'm GLAD to be unable to afford you and I wouldn't recommend you to my worst enemy. read more
