On May 1, 2026 I had a 60 minute massage at this location. I requested a relaxation massage with light pressure only. I ended up being in pain the entire service. The pressure felt like an elbow was being dug into my muscles continuously. Im 23 years old and fairly flexible so I know I likely wasn't that tight and I've never had a painful massage in past experiences. The lady just told me to breathe through it. Additionally, she sat down for the entire service and used a tool to do 95% of the massage. I was expecting her to use hand techniques as I've had at other establishments, but I was disappointed. This service was definitely not worth the time or money and I'd like to be refunded. I filled out their survey and emailed management and no one responded for 2-3 weeks. The Old Town location--and likely others--has implemented a deceptive and deeply inappropriate tipping policy that disadvantages both clients and massage therapists. The front desk staff fails to disclose this policy, allowing a third-party service called "Tippy" to process gratuities in a misleading way. After my most recent massage, I indicated that I wanted to leave a $40 tip--approximately 20%. I was told there was a new system and was directed to insert my credit card into a separate "Tippy" terminal. Only after the transaction was completed did the front desk attendant casually quickly mention that the total charged was $42.25. When I questioned the discrepancy, I was told that Tippy adds a percentage-based service fee on top of the tip amount--meaning clients are unknowingly penalized for tipping generously. This setup not only discourages clients from tipping appropriately, it also exploits their goodwill by hiding additional fees until after the transaction is complete. It's unacceptable that this information isn't disclosed upfront. When I voiced my concerns, the staff simply deflected and claimed it was beyond their control. Since then, I've brought cash and will continue to do so. I will not participate in a system that misleads clients and undermines service workers. Love this Massage Envy location! Such a relaxing experience with various therapies to choose from. Therapists are on time and professional as is the front desk team. Therapists work with you on your preferences and any trouble areas you may have. As someone with many trigger points, I appreciate them working on targeted areas when needed. I would never come back to this place ever even if it was free, you can't even pay me actually to get a massage and I love getting massages. It just smells like bad Indian food, don't get the scrubs either. They put a tablespoon of like sea salt on your hand and a hot towel. That's it and sprinkle a little bit of sugar on your legs didn't really scrub any don't really exfoliating it's a service that cost like $40 for absolutely nothing the massage $130 for 50 minutes hands-on that's correct they sell you an hour but they have you lay there I wouldn't even pay two dollars for the massage I received. I'm supposed to get a full body massage and focus on areas. The guy must love my legs because that's all he did was rub my legs over and over and over for 45 minutes. My friend got Massage to the next room and hers was decent but the aromatherapy not so much the price not so much the front desk. Christine is not helpful. The people you call not helpful. Do not get a membership at massage envy do not go to this massage envy just close all the places down because this is ridiculous I called gave two people an opportunity to make this right just take off the aromatherapy take off the scrub because it's horrible and they said they'll call me back tomorrow. In fact when I go on vacation and go to fancy spas, I get annoyed to pay so much more for services that are often not. This location has a revolving door of therapists, so don't get comfortable with one if you like them. (Bad management?) Beyond that, this location moved my 6:00 appointment today with no notice. I booked 2 weeks in advance. I show up and I'm told it's not until 6:30. The front desk associate looked through the notes to see that 4 days ago, someone moved my appointment back 30 minutes (probably to accommodate another client wanting a 90 minute massage) and I was never notified. Beyond that, I have never had a massage here start earlier than 5 minutes after my appointment time. It's usually 10 minutes late. Every time i go in they are all just sitting there on their phones or eating which i don't care but if you have time to do that why can you not answer it's part of your job lol. Was lied to about a billing situation. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to make it to my appointment so I called to let them know, within 5 minutes I called back to let them know I was still coming. After my massage when checking out I was informed it would be an amount and I added full gratuity on top of said charged amount. $108 was the specific total. I get a call a fe hours later with the lady who I've mostly interacted with here. She is really nice, thorough, and takes care of things swiftly. She calls me informing me that half the price for the cancellation was charged and it would be refunded within a few days. On my statement the $108 charge was refunded and there was a new charge for $168. With this being said it is obvious to me that I was charged the incorrect amount when checking out due to the specific number and tip amount. I was already really displeased with this place because there is a girl who I've spoken with 2 times name Deja. Super rude . I am really disappointed that this lady who I won't name, who I've delt with most of my time here couldn't be honest with me. I get 2 massages a month accumulating to 3.5 if not more hours worth of massages and she felt like she couldn't be transparent with me about the hiccup. I walked in about 15 minutes before my appointment and was greeted immediately by the nicest young women, she checked me in so fast and immediately walked me to the serenity room for waiting. It was relaxing and clean, she offered me water and mints. I waited for about 15 minutes, basically right at my appointment start time. Robin was my masseuse, she was so pleasant and nice. My past visit at Massage Envy Spa was absolutely HORRIBLE. My aesthetician Sonya needs to be retrained or replaced. I went in for a simple 60 mins facial and came out with more trauma on my face than I've ever had before. During my session she was being very obnoxious. Demanding me to look at my face using the camera on my phone while she put some "face mask" on my face that caused my face to burn almost feeling like a level 2 chemical peel. Again may I add I only came in for a simple facial. Once I told her that my face was burning she promptly wiped the concoction off my face. My face was able to cool down eventually. She then proceeded to talk my ear off and not do her job as an aesthetician properly. I would like to sum this all up by saying I come to Massage Envy to relax in peace and trust that service providers are going to do an amazing job. I also paid extra for an Achilles heel taping which was done during the massage. So, I paid for 60 minutes and got 40 minutes. The massage was basically just a rub down with oil. I would not suggest going to this location. I am normally not one to leave bad reviews, but I don't want other people to waste $95 like I did. He was professional and attentive to what I was looking for (deep tissue... after a long weekend and the stress from moving). The only downside of my visit is the membership and pushiness that comes after the appointment. I usually get a massage twice a year. I was trying to book a massage appointment and a microodermabrasion appointment. After a lot of discussion she finally landed on a date and tried to book me for a microdermabrasion followed by a massage. Luckily, I am very educated about services.
