First one in a Sunday. The server recommended their $8 breakfast special. Comes with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, smashed potatoes and rye toast. Sounded great except it really wasn't. Eggs were really dry. Sausage was bitter (like it was old). Bacon was like jerky. The potatoes were the star though. Unfortunately there was barely any on the plate. Everything was cold except for the potatoes. I guess that's what you get for $8. Service was great which is why the extra star. I was the only one in there though! Ambience wasn't too bad. Lots of seating indoors plus outdoor patio. I chose to sit indoors since it had just rained. Music wasn't to my taste but each to their own. Large screen tv's. From this experience, I don't recommend and have no intention of returning. read more

I came here on a Sunday as I was told they have a $7 breakfast special. For $7 you get eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and a side of toast which is quite decent. It wasn't the best breakfast I've ever had but for $7 it did the job. I've seen pictures of their other menu items and they appear to be delicious. Will have to come back and try it another time. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we got there. It was pretty spacious and clean. Our waitress was kind and the service was good. read more

This is our community pub and absolutely love it. The owner Dave is amazing. Same with the manager Dave is awesome and their staff Shiloh & James all of them are so helpful and fast. The place is really neat looking inside. They have an outdoor patio that allows your dogs. Had the fisherman stew for the very first time and it was to die for it was a lot of food. You could probably split it between two people unless you're super hungry. read more

Well, I came back for a second round at Twin Otter and once again it was ok. This time I ordered the calamari and am I ever glad I did. The calamari was amazing delicious, very peppery and flavourful of garlic, just the et I like them. Next up, nachos epic fail. Tasted like movie theatre nachos. They were tiny in size like a single serving not really a sharing size, didn't have much on them and the cheese wasn't real melted cheese it was that cheese sauce stuff. I wouldn't order this dish again unless they change it up. Wings were good, same as last time not as crispy as some other places but still juicy and delicious. For a drink I ordered the Moscow mule as recommended by our server and it was delicious! So happy on that front but wish she would've warned us about the nachos lol. Took a while to get our bill again but we weren't in any rush so that was fine and then place was busy but not uncomfortably busy. Another great spot for easy casual local pub style eats. read more

Showing up at 5pm on an Oiler game night is not a good idea. No staff, waited so long for drinks, food. I think only two waitresses on. Food wasn't great. Heard it was a good place and maybe it is but it sure wasn't tonight. Waited half hour to get our bill. Definately prefer OJ's. read more

A local pub to the Windermere area has arrived!!! I'm an aviation nerd and so when I heard there was a pub named after one of my favorite aircraft I was rather excited! The good news, this place did not disappoint! My first experience here I came with a few other aviation enthusiasts with work in air traffic control. We contacted the pub for a reso and they happily accommodated the reso for 12. Our server James explained that it was happy hour 5-7 Monday to Friday so we started with some tasty beverages! I was happy to see a mix of local and Canadian options to world wide! Second time was for a work Christmas party! 24 people and all served timely and correctly! On both occasions the server then explained that the menu was designed in mind for sharing and gave us a few recommendations and helped answer some food allergy questions. Yes they have celiac and dairy free options. We've tried a few things and they have all been pretty tasty! Photos to show!! On another note there is a lot of awesome aviation decore- one that's very special to me is the write up on one of the pilots who passed doing what he loved while flying for Ken Borek air. The first office who flew with this man was a good friend of mine and it's an amazing tribute. It can be a sad industry at times and places like this give aviators a place to feel at home- and nerd out over the awesome photos and hanging twin otter! The owner, also a pilot- just ask him and he will share stories, ha ha pilot trait! and the staff have all been amazing and I'm sure we will become regulars here! This is our favorite local pub! Good food and good drinks. Upscale and not overcrowded. They change their menu occasionally so it's always nice to try new things. My current favorite is the beet salad and my husband loves the nachos. Owners are super kind! We even hosted a joint bachelor/bachelorette party here in July in the upper deck area. read more

My boyfriend and I live in the neighbourhood and been anticipating the opening of Twin Otter Pub. I am not a huge pub fan, nor did I have high expectations, but oh my, I will definitely be a regular here!! I don't even know where to begin, the atmosphere isn't like your regular local pub, it has a modern touch, and feels more upscale. I really fell in love with the aviation decor, and love the interesting layout of the place. They have a patio as well, so I'm definitely looking forward to that this upcoming summer! Food- I highly recommend trying out every dish here! My boyfriend and I had the Jamaican patties, trio platter, chicken pot pie, and the twin cheeseburger. Everything was top notch, so flavourful! I will have to say that the chicken pot pie is my new favourite, and it seems to be that way for many others! The alcohol selection is very extensive, from craft beer to high end scotch (johnny walker black), they really have it all! Can't wait to return!!! read more

Visiting the area where a family member lives and saw the new pub. Deecided to check it out for Saturday brunch. Friendly staff greeted us after we chose our own seating. Had a nice chat about the place before we ordered. They have good selection of beer including some local craft brews. We opted for the brunch menu which did not disappoint. The veggie omelette and the sausage and egged were our choices. Both meals were tasty and worthy of a good review. As for decor it is uniquely aviation themed with a model Twin Otter hovering from the ceiling. The ambience is bright and lively and plenty of windows surround the outer area of the bar. A garage door foreshadows an open air extension in summer. There is a pool table which takes up some space in the seating area. It doesn't really fit in my view and that space could probably be better used as additional seating. The staff were also busy setting up reservations for later that day and said they anticipated a very busy day the next day. I expect this place will be busy for quite some time given the positive impression it left on us. read more

This place was very much anticipated. The first pub in Windermere? Heck yeah! When we first arrived it was evident that it's self seating since no one came over to us or made eye contact. However, once we were seated our waitress Kaitlyn was swiftly at our table. She was quick with our drinks and taking our orders. I asked if there was any bacon in the clam chowder and was assured there was not so we ordered a small bowl, the margherita pizza and the ribs. We were told the ribs weren't favorable but the sauce was divine so we opted to try. When the food came out it looked great. Although, upon tasting we were quickly disappointed. The ribs were unseasoned and the sauce was not to our liking. The clam chowder had bacon and the tomatoes on the basic cheese pizza tasted like they were washed with cleaning solution. When Kaitlyn came to pick up our uneaten plates we explained how unhappy we were with the food and she happily took the ribs and soup off the bill. In closing, I would recommend this place for a good local drinking hole but make sure you eat before you show up or stop at Tim Horton's on your way home. read more

The menu is great but our experience was terrible the wait staff took 20mins to acknowledge us even being there. Then it took another 20 mins to bring out two beers 40mins sitting there!!. It was not busy they had at least 2 servers and two bartenders but they were more concerned with their phones and chatting with each other.We asked for our bill with our second round and it didn't come they didn't come back until our beers were finished and then asked us if we wanted the tab then it took at least10 mins to come with the bill and of course no machine. At this point we were frustrated but polite. The whole time we witnessed the bartenders and owner chatting very close to our table but they didn't seem to care that we had either no drinks or empty drinks. After a bike ride in the neighbourhood, my partner and I decided to have a beverage at the Twin Otter. This restaurant or anywhere else around the vicinity does not have a bike rack. We parked our bikes away from the entrance of the Twin Otter and out of people's way but close to where we were sitting by the patio so we can move them easily if need be. Note, there is a doorway between the restaurant and the patio. We have been to this restaurant 3x and food is below average; however, servers are friendly. We support local businesses; hence, my partner and I went for drinks at Twin Otter after our bike ride. Unfortunately, we were treated poorly by the owner. There was a one man band that evening (a fantastic performer). The performer sat with my partner and me during the intermission. While we were talking to the performer the drunk owner asked the performer to speak with him when he was available but time flew by and the performer never spoke to the owner. Owner returned the second time to speak with the performer. We were sitting outside and our bike helmets were on our table so the owner knew the bikes belonged to us. Owner purposely squeezed between the ropes and our bikes to get to the front entrance of the Twin Otter to smoke and chat with the performer. The performer told the owner that he shouldn't go that way and there's more room going around the bikes. Owner also told other customers to walk through the ropes and between our bikes to get out of the patio. Owner stated loudly that bikes should not be parked on the pavement. His action of walking between our parked bikes instead of walking towards a more opened space showed he didn't care if he tipped our bikes over. Owner thought an e-bike is a motorcycle and needs a license plate. Owner took the same way again (i.e. in between our bikes and through the rope) to get back inside the restaurant. Owner told the performer to follow him but performer didn't listen to him again and went through the rope where there was more space to get back to the patio. If the owner asked us politely to move our bikes, we would of. Due to the owner's unprofessional behavior, we will not return to Twin Otter and we will tell family members, friends, and co-workers to avoid this restaurant. It took a lot of me not to speak to the owner regarding his ill behavior but I didn't want to make a scene with a drunk person. read more

I had the wor wonton soup. The flavour was ok but a bit bland (I asked for chilli oil (N/A) so I had sriracha to kick it up). Veggies were fresh. 4 large shrimp were the best part. Following lacked in portion: 4 small wontons, small chicken bits and veggie portions (a few small broccoli florets with some onions, carrots and celery?). :( It was $17, and should be priced in more of the $10-$12 range for what I received. read more

Food is good, salad and pizza especially. Beer ok; for the price of glass, not pint, needs to be colder and poured properly (?). Staff ok, slow and only 3 tables but that is common. We would go back because it is close, clean and mostly good. All other places within 15 km's are terrible so that elevates it to the top. read more

This place has great food. Not decent, Great! The burger is awesome and the menu is very good. The chicken pot pie is also awesome. The bartenders are friendly and they have a huge bar with lots of seats and TVs, perfect for game night. I like the Decor, and they even have a pool table which is a nice touch. This place is awesome the bar owner went through alll of the amazing local beers with us and I was unsure of what I wanted and he brought out samples for myself and my GF so we wouldn't have to settle on one and the food was incredible I had the bug fall wings which were crIspy and deliccous as wel as a burger and the burger was incredible.
