I get it, you're busy and it's Mother's Day but forgetting something ordered and having an attitude; seriously?! Food was alright, my pasta was sub-par. I was expecting great service tonight but no. Very disappointed. Never even got my garlic bread To add fuel to the fire, was waiting for 30-40 mins to get the bill and was completely ignored, no offer for dessert nothing. Our most recent experience here was just lovely! We made quick reservations before coming but it definitely wasn't needed, but I always like to plan just in case. I was excited to find out that Tuesdays are half price bottles of all wine. And they even said we could take home the leftover wine! Which was amazing as I didn't want to drink the whole bottle. The Rascal red wine was really good, and I'm excited to have the leftovers We only had a short time so it was just entrees and drinks. I ordered the Truffle tortellini with steak. The steak was very good, perfect temp and well seasoned. I loved the sauce with the mushrooms and asparagus. My husband ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with Cajun chicken and garlic bread, it was also very good. Just came back from a lovely birthday lunch celebration at Earl's on 50th street. The experience was pleasurable from the greeting at the service desk to the sitting at our patio table. The weather was perfect for a patio lunch. Our waiter Sam was excellent which made our experience a fun relaxing time. He was knowledgeable and attentive. I walked up the side walk and in front of me was the "gatekeeper" I just need to sit at the bar and I was just going to have a quick bite. So I started to walk past her and she stopped me and I said I'm going to the lounge. She said she would still have to check me in as no one was there or something like that. There must have been the patio was half full of drinking patrons. She said she would need my information to log into her computer. I looked at her and said this is too complicated, I just need a quick bite not to register. I went to Boston Pizza instead, no gate keeper in the lounge. This used to be a common visit when I was at my previous job, but this was my first visit back in a few years. We attended a birthday/playoff watch party with a party of 12. They were very accommodating and allowed us to make a reservation in the lounge for such a large party. The food was pretty tasty and a decent portion. Typical Earls like. The service was friendly, but it took a little while to receive the food and a few items were missing off plates. Ambiance, was pretty decent for playoff hockey. Loud and full of oiler fans but that is what we expected. I wish they had better quality tvs and maybe a bit bigger... but again it's not a sports bar so you have to keep that in mind. read more

You know, I honestly love this Earls location. My last visit was with my teenage son for a late lunch. The restaurant is upscale and modern. I've sat in both the restaurant and bar, and enjoyed both seating options. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess. Our service was friendly and the food came out quickly. My son loved his mocktail. We started with salt and peppers wings. They were hot when they came out and super crispy. My son said they were the best wings ever. My son loved his burger. I truly enjoyed the Cajun chicken sandwich. My only complaint was the buns were so soft both fell apart but not sure that is a complaint worth sharing! Overall really lovely. read more

A little trendy nice and pricey for my taste but the food was amazing. Chowder a little thin texture but very rich creamy taste and plumb full of clam and veggies. Crab cakes probably top 2-3 I've ever ate and being from the east coast that's a lot. Crisp outside tender meat, moist mix, not all breaded,dry, fried up...Superb dish period. Ribs were literally fall off the bone and tasted great too. Large space, clean and about half full at 6 on a Sunday. Server not the most polite or responsive but adequate. I love to come in every once in a while to sit at the bar or in the lounge for a bottle of wine and dinner. My roommate and I love the Scarpetta wine and the atmosphere is always amazing. I always love when I see the manager Delenn, we always have great conversations and she has a new bartender names Gurpreet who treats me like I'm a star. We decided to sit on the patio as it was such a fabulous day. The day manger Delenn took us to our seat on the patio. While seating us she was as lettering us know about a new Seafood Platter feature and went to explain it in great detail having oysters, prawn cocktail, ahi tuna poke, dynamite sushi roll, lobster tail and refreshing condiments. She even mentioned a fantastic wine that would pair nicely. We were seated and hadn't thought about getting the seafood platter as it is a bit pricey at $69.75, then we thought what the heck seafood would be good on such a hot day. We were SO SO not disappointed. Everything was fresh and delicious. Cassidy was our server and she did such a great job. She was fun engaging and such a delight. There's something for everyone here. My friends enjoy the meat dishes. My daughter always orders the sushi roll and I appreciate the plant based menu. The Quinoa avocado bowl was excellent. We loved the chocolate with caramel dessert and will definitely order that again. Only reason I didn't give five stars is because the waitress was a bit distracted. She was more interested in chatting with her coworkers and we always needed to wave our arms to get her attention. She was friendly but often unavailable. Restaurant was only half-full so it wasn't because she was overworked. I recently went for a Covid-friendly lunch date with one of my close friends. Earls was clean and had hand sanitizer at the entrance for guests to use. I was impressed by the distancing however it did take them quite some time to clean up tables after guests left so it did look a bit messy. Our food was pretty good. We went for happy hour (of course) and got the spinach dip and a burger. I found the burger to be way too salty. I could not eat it all. We also enjoyed some margaritas which were a nice touch to the outing but definitely made the salty food worse. Our waitress was amazing. She was quick, friendly and checked up just the right amount. After she finished her shift, the next waitress introduced herself and wasn't to be seen again (for a whole hour). Overall it was fairly good. I highly recommend the spinach dip to anyone who goes! read more

RAW chicken burger!! Salmonella is no big deal...we'll just take it off your bill. Not like you can die from it so we'll treat it as if you had found a bug in your food. (Hear the sarcasm?) That's how management chose to handle it. I have since shared the raw burger picture on Earl's Restaurants Facebook page and Twitter and they have completely ignored it, while still actively responding to other posts. It shows it may not be a location thing when management even refuses to deal with...or even acknowledge...one of their location's wrongdoing. Terrible service -called days before asking if brunch on weekend is on and happy hour applies. Said yes. Asked if prices are still same as before. Said yes. Used to be 7.50$ brunch. Now 12+. Which really is a few $ less than original price -menu has changed and avocado toast with side salad (top seller) is not the toast with hollandaise and potatoes. -had to ask for utensils and waited while our meals sat in front of us -friend asked for water before I arrived and never came. Had to ask again -friend asked for coffee and never arrived. Asked again and they showed up with a pot, no cup. -they didn't ask my friend how she liked her eggs and they came runny. Asked for a plate of cooked eggs. -asked for hot sauce- got a poor excuse amount. In a cup. Had to ask for more. -had about 5-6 different people come to our table. Hard to know who actually was our server -asked for bills only for them to be incorrect. And waited quite a bit with a fussy child Keep in mind. Place was not busy. Was 3 of us. We were never demanding. Asked for basic things, that really should be there to begin with. I am one to hate complaining and returning food etc. But today was the poorest service I've received at Earls and im a longtime customer. Sadly won't be returning. So there are quite a few things that irritate me about Earls...trying too hard to be trendy....cookie cutter tiny girls in too short of skirts as waitresses - although to be fair some of them really know the menu and some I am sure are just hired because how they look...pretentious atmosphere...overpriced average food with no real continuity except for I think the chef exclaims to each menu item "I think an engineer in a suit would order this". There are a few things that are good about Earls...really nice patios in general and their happy hour special. I come here often mainly because my suburban house moms enjoy this place to "adult". And I agree this is an adult trendy place if you don't mind how loud it gets. Generally we order what ever booze special is on and a bunch of appetizers. All of it is average. I would say their fries when they come out really hot are fairly tasty...and my friends seem to enjoy the chicken and brie sandwich if they are feeling hungrier. I had the ahi tuna poke bowl and it was average. The quality of the tuna was average, the toppings and flavours are average, and the portion was decent. What I have to say that annoyed me was that in Hawaii, poke bowls should look beautiful...this one looked super sloppy. I could tell that the chef wasn't really into whatever he was doing. Even in Edmonton when I go to say Ono Poke, it always has a lovely balance of color in the bowl...not so for this one. So if you want to have a few great drinks in an adult atmosphere and not blow the bank sure...give this a go...on a sunny Saturday afternoon on the patio with some sangria...of course..but if you are expecting high quality of food for the price that you are paying...really do yourself a favour and eat somewhere else. read more

We happened to be there on a day when the bowls were on special for lunch. We did not receive the lunch pricing on our bill, which I didn't notice until after my husband had paid. The waitress put them both in at full price. I do recommend the Salmon Zen Bowl though! read more

Reservations accepted on a Saturday night, hurray! There was 7 of us celebrating a birthday and they put us near the door so it was a bit breezy all night. If you don't get cold, there are coat racks near the tables which is nice. The seating was booth style but comfortable. The server was attentive all night checking on our drinks and food. He could also answer questions about the menu which was a good sign. I had the lychee lemonade and it was a tasty beverage. Would order it again. Instead of an entrée, I opted for a side salad and dynamite prawn and mango roll with mayo on the side. The salad was delicious and I could eaten more. My friend had the crispy prawns and I had one. It was crispy and not too spicy. The portion of this appie was decent for sharing, or could be had as an entrée. My rolls were as expected and tasty. I'm not a big fan of Earls, but based on the service and decent food, I give it 4 stars. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their food and drink. The reason for 3 stars is that I asked the server if the birthday girl gets anything and he initially said yes, a free dessert. But after he told me he spoke to the manager and they had met the quota for the week and he wasn't able to give her anything. Not great to say yes, and then come back and say no. And what's up with this quota? After all the money we just spent on food and drink, it doesn't seem much to provide a dessert for less than $10. read more

Fantastic location in Northside with a wicked patio space. I visit this restaurant for the food, fantastic service and convenient parking. My favorite menu item is the delicious swordfish tacos. Terrible. This place is so bad, They forgot to give me my Clam chowder. I order 2 can of coke than they gave me 1 coke and 1 diet, they also forgot to give me chicken wings but gave me my celery and ranch and artisan bread. I am so offended that they made this as a joke cause when I call back they were literally laughing. I am so displeased because this earls is usually good at what they do. Well, we did give it another try, using Skip the Dishes this time. I got the hot wings I was craving... woohoo! Everything was dropped off at the door as requested and the packaging was great again. Only problem was that my son had ordered yam fries with his burger and the package had a note on it saying they weren't available on the limited menu. That may be new, since he got them last week! We went there for a bday. The food was really good. Drinks were okay. Music was great. Not too busy, we had a table of about 10. Small parking lot but enough to accommodate everyone. The service was not the best. Our waiter was not organized, food came out at different times. I got confused with my chicken and waiter did not catch the confusion. I ended up eating something I didn't order and the other person was left without a Meal for a while. Bill was a mess, drinks and water missed. We had a good time because it wasn't worth complaining. Friday night date night. After 45 minutes of waiting, we were told that there had been "an incident with the steak." Not by our waitress, who was clueless about the whole thing and totally ignored our empty drinks the whole time, but by a shift leader or manager who suggested we order salads ($$) to eat while we waited for our food to be remade. My boyfriend ordered "the biggest steak they've got" at medium rare and it came out looking well done and about the size of an underfed chicken breast. I had the fettuccine Alfredo which tasted like wet noodles. It didn't even smell like garlic. I knew I could rescue it, so after a lacklustre dining experience, I took my fettuccine home, added 2 cloves of garlic, butter, more Parmesan, and some salt and am now feeding it to my dog. The chicken in the dish tasted totally burnt. What is it with restaurants burning chicken these days? A char does not mean burnt. Also, clean your grill. I don't want to taste layers of "char." Every restaurant has its off nights, sure. But to top it off, our bill came to $150 because whoever rang the order in again to get it remade forgot to deduct the first round of food from the bill, which added another 20 minutes to our "checkout time". On date night, we had plans. You'd think that after the huge wait time for the food, they'd try to streamline the rest of the dining experience, but that didn't happen. We thought Earls was an easy, great alternative to driving all the way to Whyte for Meat, Next Act, or downtown for Pampa, but hello no. Hello waiting in line next time. Screw these lame chains. #terriblefoodyeg Gotta add that as apologetic as the wait staff was (when they came to ask if we wanted to order more food while we waited), they clearly lacked communication between the kitchen, the management, and the server who ignored us 90% of the time. I used to be frequent Earl's guest. But it has got very pricey and some of favourites have been banished from the menu. This location no longer has a wood fired oven. On our most recent visit, we had to wait for 10 minutes for a table even though the restaurant was almost empty. There were 8 hostesses/servers hanging about, chatting at the entrance. But they were BAR servers, so could not possibly seat us and bring us a drink while we waited for the restaurant servers to finish their meeting in the kitchen. Isn't that absurd? The food we had was pretty good. Although the Bronx burger can not be eaten without taking out a few of the thick onion rings. The rings tasted of not fresh oil. All in all, a pricey couple of burgers served by a waiter who could have dialed down the cool server act a bit. read more

I used to come here at least once a week just for the chicken caesar salad, well I may have to change choices as I had the worst Caesar salad that I've ever had. The chicken was burnt and the maker of this simple staple globbed all the dressing in the middle and neglected to mix it. So I mixed it up prior to tasting and all I could taste was burnt chicken. There's nothing wrong with or unexpected about this Earls location. I usually go there on weekends for lunch with my aunt. We never have to wait for a table. There is a decent sized patio at this location and the wait hasn't been long when I've wanted to sit outside, either. I tend to avoid sitting in the lounge as the volume, whether of the TV, music or people, is always very loud. I always get one of the same few things at Earls - a burger, Mediterranean pasta, Caeser salad, or that Asian noodle dish - and they're always exactly the same. Maybe that's why I crave it once in a while - I know it'll be exactly what I'm craving, nothing more and nothing less. Their Signature Caeser drink is surprisingly delicious, too. Lots of spice and nice garnishes. Service is as expected at a chain restaurant - girls in short skirts/dresses, handsome waiters, lots of white teeth and scripted banter. But they're friendly so there's nothing wrong with that, either. read more
