The tri-tip sandwich we got the other day was so good, we went back today and got it again. Meat is tender and juicy and they put just the right amount of bbq sauce on it to not take away from the flavor of the meat. The zucchini fries and onion rings were nice and crispy. Worst dining experience I've ever had. The wait for food was 45 minutes to an hour, and when it finally arrived, items were missing. When I told the manager, she was rude and unprofessional, and it took another 45 minutes for the missing food. The kitchen staff clearly lacks communication, and the manager doesn't know how to lead. The bathrooms were extremely filthy -- trash everywhere and urine and feces on the toilets. Completely unacceptable. The only positive part of my visit was the woman working the fryers. She was kind, helpful, and clearly the hardest worker there. She was the only reason I didn't walk out and request a refund. I would not recommend eating here. read more

This is a dive Café out in the middle of the desert, I went back there this past weekend for nostalgic reasons, I used to go out there 45 years ago almost every weekend, and we would eat at this place as it was the only game in town, at that time it was a restaurant with tables and chairs inside, now it's a pay at the cashier booth in the store, and then wait for your food and eat outside or take it to your motorhome, I really wanted the Carne Asada because it's the thing to get there, they get premium meat from Ramey's in Brawley , they were out and we ended up having burgers and fries that were decent. My family stayed 3 nights at the rv park. Hookups were great but amenities were out of order. I'd give a 4-5 but Pool was broken and not heated and one of the restrooms was out of order the whole time. Camp host lady yelled "get your helmet on" at a father warming up his kids motorcycle ... she could've been more polite because all who heard were shocked at her aggressiveness. Amazing sunrise and sunset views and we felt safe here. Our kids loved the riding track and our dogs had a good time being taken on walks around the park. The cafe is basic and food is good. there's a row of general store items by the cashier but not much else. We will be back again! read more

We've been living and traveling in our RV for close to a year now. Along the way we've been fortunate to find some amazing restaurants and foodie finds. Yesterday our luck changed. We had a horrible experience at the Restaurant at Blu In RV Park. While we were exploring the Ocotillo Wells state park we were also scoping out our next RV park. We found the Blu In had a restaurant that looked fun and inviting. Our simple order of one Hamburger and one bowl of chili took over 90 minutes to arrive at the table. It's one thing for them to be busy, but we were at the end of their busy streak. The family group that ordered just before us were served their food and completed eating while we continued to wait. (Now I understand why they make you pay when you order, BEFORE they prepare the food. Everyone would simply leave after such a long wait). Literally at the 90 minute waiting mark I went inside to Inquire about the order. There sitting in the window is our food. Probably been there for several minutes while the waitress took a break. Even then it took another wait to-get the food. The waitress decides to get argumentative with us Instead of apologizing for the delay. Unreal. Now other neighboring patrons are apologizing to us. Everyone is in disbelief. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND OR ENDORSE THIS RESTAURANT. After this embarrassing event we also changed plans to NOT stay at the park as well. read more

Decided to try this tiny little café (big patio) located inside a convenience store after the high recommendations from our neighbor. The meat they use for their tri-tip sandwich, hamburgers and pulled pork tastes fresh and of high quality. We arrived in the area late in the evening as they were getting ready to close but were able to keep the kitchen open a little longer to accommodate us. We got a chance to talk to the owner/chef Jason for a little bit after finishing up our food and the passion he has for cooking and his customers really comes through; he reminded me of Bob from Bobs burgers. He takes great pride in coming up with new menú items and using the freshest meat and ingredientes. read more

Blu in Cafe is a must stop in when around Ocotillo Wells. It makes to be such a nice lunch spot. Every time my family and I come out camping here, we always make sure to include this destination as a stop on our rides. There's a covered patio to the side of the restaurant/store and many chairs and long tables to sit plentiful. It's a mini store inside, and they also have a full kitchen menu of items such as their yummy versions of burritos, chicken tenders, burgers and fries, etc... the food has always been up to par and plentiful. ICE bags can also be purchased here. Prices are definitely on the expensive spectrum so a heads up there. There are also always vendors set up in the parking lot and even offroad rentals right next to the seating area so leave yourself some time to shop while you wait for your food. The parking lot can fit many vehicles so no worries there. We definitely are looking forward to our next visit already! read more

My wife and I were in the area last week to check out Superbloom 2017 (awesome!). My wife is a desert rat from way back -- her parents used to have a trailer parked out in Ocotillo Wells, so she's been coming out here for decades. I joined in the fun starting in the '80s, and the Blu Inn has long been a stop for us when we want some good food and cold drinks. We were definitely not disappointed in our most-recent visit. First, it wasn't crowded at all -- we were served immediately. Second, the patio is dog friendly, which our newly adopted dog really appreciated. Third, they had bottles of Sculpin for sale. And finally, the food was good. We ordered cheeseburgers and onion rings, they were cooked fast, they were hot and tasty, and they were served with a smile. An easy 4 stars -- for sure the best food (and cold beer) you'll find between Borrego Springs and the Salton Sea. read more

The Blu Inn has been the standard rest stop , food stop, beer stop in the Ocotillo are for decades. It has withstood the test of time with few changes throughout the years. It's fairly centrally located to the popular riding destinations of the Ocotillo area. The beer is cold and the burgers and such are a bit above par. The service is exceptional and be prepared to wait during the winter weekend craziness. Unfortunately the gas pumps haven't worked for awhile , kind of a bummer since running low on fuel is a desert riders norm. We have a house in one of the Salton Sea propers and a run to Superstion has us on fumes by the time we roll up here. Let's hope this changes in the future. The RV park seems to be ramping up in quality and always seems to be busy in season. There seemed no to be a lot of riding restrictions in this local area , probably because of the amount of people who visit here. Be careful , don't drive drunk ...IF you happen to get caught riding back in the dark it's easy to find with the blinking tower light. read more
