This is the gem of Joshua Tree (besides the National Park, of course). Fresh. Plant-based. Goodness. If it wasn't for the giant "vegan" sign I spotted from the main road while headed to the park, I would have totally driven by without noticing this place. It's in a building that looks like it belongs in Pioneertown and not where you'd expect to find a vegan cafe. Grabbed a couple of smoothies on our way back from visiting the park right before they closed for the day and they were both terrific. If you can't decide - go with the Chocolate Sun Butter with added brownie bits (recommended to me by the friendly gal behind the walk-up window). It's definitely one of the best smoothies I've EVER had! I look forward to stopping in again (hopefully post-covid) and experiencing their vegan brunch menu.
I made a pit stop here while visiting Joshua tree and heading back home to LA. I didn't realize at first it was a vegan place but food looked amazing in pictures and decided to take a chance. So happy that I did because as expected it was so tasty and the wrap I ordered with side salad was soooo yummy. Also had their smoothie and that was different but not terrible or anything. The staff was helpful and food came out quick and fresh. I hope to be back to this place soon.
E for Exceptional! Earned more than 5-stars! The menu is quite large, I mean it actually measures about 8' x 6' ... maybe even bigger. If you need some direction or suggestions, meet April . . . the warm and kind human that takes your order and brings it to your outdoor table. April walked me through a couple of menu items that appealed to me and I ended up having (devouring) the 50/50 wrap with eggplant, pesto and avocado. It came topped with a beautiful bunch of dressed greens. The photos don't do it justice. The wrap is a large, soft pita. I ate every bite! For something sweet and cool, April recommended a mixed berry with banana smoothie. It was perfect! There are plenty of outdoor tables. And even though I was solo the setting was perfect and neat and casual and comfortable. Parking lot is decent and the bathroom was clean with ample supplies.
Such a unique menu that's healthy and filling for post-Joshua tree hiking. The Pestocado was something that'll make you want to recreate it at home! The hummus wrap has nothing but a smooth tasty hummus with fresh vegetables adding amazing texture to the meal. Saffron rose rice pudding caught our attention so we ordered it and although we were extremely full, we were glad to have experienced the floral dessert! the coco rosie was delicious! I wish the cup was bigger. A small gravel parking lot is available to pull into. When we arrived it was around 10:30a and there were no crowds.

You order at the window and they bring out to your car. The food was fresh and crazy delicious. The seasonings on the salad were magical!!! We inhaled it. The kid in our party loved the warm pita bread :) the stuffed avocados, hummus, coffee, rose water saffron rice pudding, and eggplant toast were 10 stars. Seriously so good. While we were eating outside in the sunshine on their hay bales, they employee came out to bring us two free vegan GF chocolate cupcakes as a treat, how nice!! Thanks for a great experience.

We were visiting Yucca Valley, and decided to stop by the place on day 1 of our stay. We liked the place so much, that we visited it every single day of our trip. If you are vegan, then don't look any further, this is the spot! The location is right next to the main highway 62, so very convenient if you are on the way to Joshua Tree or Palm Springs. There is enough parking (so it wasn't an issue). Note that they are open only Fri-Sun. They are offering only takeout, but there are some tables outside, so you can sit and enjoy. Over the 3 days, we tried several items from their menu: Earl grey lavender iced tea, Hibiscus rose iced tea, chocolate sunbutter smoothie, chickpea salad wrap (entree), stuffed avocado- tried both pesto as well as chickpea (entree), eggplant toast (entree), chocolate cake, saffron rice pudding. Everything we tried was delicious. There were definitely some repeat orders as well in the 3 consecutive day visits. They serve pretty fast, you order at the booth, wait in your car and they bring it to your car. On one of the occasion, they even added some gluten-free chips on the house, such a sweet gesture. If you are vegan or meat eater, visiting the area or passing by, definitely give it a try. Highly recommend it.

Came here for a healthy breakfast, indoor dining wasn't an option but it sure was nice outside so that was okay. Loved to see all the healthy options on the menu, would love to come back to try more!

As a non vegan, the entrees, smoothies, and desserts are so delicious! We came here every day in Joshua Tree, and the servers/chefs were also so welcoming and friendly. My favorites are their large salad (honestly one of the best salads I have ever had), mango or mixed berry smoothie, rice pudding (all desserts)--but honestly everything was well balanced and unique!
STOP OMG such a cute spot with great service and food!!! while waiting in line someone recommended i have the 50/50 wrap. and the dirty coco rosie sounded good so i ordered both (added avo to the wrap) and they're AMAZING. it's my first time in joshua tree and this is the best start to my trip i couldve asked for. it's always such a pleasant surprise finding good vegan eats during travel. also there's a view of "kickapoo tr" nearby lol read more

The Topicali smoothie was amazing! It was very fruity and refreshing without tasting overly sweet. The oat milk and the coconut butter are perfectly balanced with the fruit. It was thick but not too thick with a few fruit small chunks. The mocha was nothing special, but it was my mistake ordering it with half and half. I can't wait to come backs read more

MUST GO IN! As soon as I came to the front door the aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls carried me in! Ingenious luring technique! So, of course, I ordered one! How is this vegan?! I'm not vegan but I can be after this delicious delight! I haven't even paid yet and I'm already one pastry in, LOL! A drip coffee, rose water biscotti, and breakfast berry flat bread later I am so happy I came into town for this! April not only greeted us with a smile and Alice in Wonderland beauty but she shared how all of the baked menu items are done in house! A true desert treat & experience! I went on a short trip with a friend to Joshua Tree and on our way back to the LA/OC area, we decided to stop here for brunch essentially. (We tried to go to Frontier Café but the line was super long and we were both on the verge of getting hungry lol.) This little spot is quaint but cute. It's a vegan spot, so don't expect to order a lumberjack breakfast - the seating is also outdoor only, which I could see being unpleasant during the height of summer but the weather was perfect when we were there. I ended up ordering an avocado toast which was great. No frills - literally just avocado, toast and a bit of salt on top. - but the toast was tasty and the avocado was piled on generously. 8/10. My friend had the toast with jam and vegan butter. I don't know if we were just hungry or otherwise, but we both loved the toasts we ordered. I also got an iced latte and he got an mocha latte and the coffee was perfectly fine. 7/10. I would come back here again for sure. $12 for a decent latte and an avocado toast works for me! read more

OUT OF THIS WORLD memorable top 5 places I have eaten in a decade. My partner and I moved to Joshua tree area in January 2021 and are kicking ourselves for not going to this place sooner. We took a bite in our car, looked at each other, and said "What have we been DOING?! Not going here these 6 months and we've been so close??" We walked up to the ordering window and everyone, EVERYONE, was extraordinarily friendly. We waited in our air conditioned car (although even on a hundred degree afternoon, the old western-style shaded deck was very comfortable and cool) and they brought out the food within a few minutes with giant smiles on their faces (behind their masks). We went all out and ordered a lot. We got the chocolate mousse parfait (dairy free, egg free, lower refined sugar, gluten free???!) and screamed in the car and immediately went back and got 2 more. I am not kidding. It was the best. We also got the eggplant toast with gluten free sweet potato bread, which was the perfect mix of sweet and savory with a fresh salad with excellent vegan Parmesan. We had the 50/50 pesto eggplant "wrap" on the gluten free toast too. That toast tastes like cornbread to me. I haven't had cornbread in years and it was a dream come true. I ate it with a fork in the box. The chocolate sun butter smoothie with vegan coconut whip and gluten free brownie bits was divine. I haven't had the pleasure of a drink with whipped anything in years either. And finally, I got the ginger lemonade sparkling water with honey which was so refreshing and I can't believe they offer different choices of lower-glycemic sweeteners. This place would be amazing for anyone, dietary restrictions or not. But let me give you a little more background about why I'm freaking out about this place and what this experience meant to me. We have some serious diet restrictions due to severe reactions to things like gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, corn, and sugar. Before I got sick 6 years ago, things like chocolate mousse and popsicles were my favorite things. When my pancreas suddenly decided to give me a hard "no" on refined sugar above 2g, I gave up a big part of my heart. Going to Yucca Valley Outpost almost made these last 6 years of watching all my friends eat at restaurants and get to order whatever they wanted, me sitting watery-eyed and watery-mouthed while I sipped my bone broth...worth it!!! And on top of that it was such good vibes as the people were so friendly. We host a lot of people from out of town at our little eco retreat center so you know we are going to be recommending this place to everyone and their mother. read more

I was in the valley for a week..And the Organic Market Cafe was the first place I ran into! Love at first taste, simply fabulous. April, the pretty woman behind the counter is a master baker . She knows her business . And Ray the owner is fabulous and funny. He is very creative and brilliantly friendly. I went there 3 times well with the exceptions of the two days being closed. Just finished April's Apple muffin , YUM! What a beautiful desert gem. If you're in Joshua Tree area and looking for a local coffeeshop with special touches , then this is it! read more
