This review is solely for the quality of the cheese on the pizza. The pizza has a decent crust, but it's obvious that the cheese is the cheapest mozzarella you can find. Terrible, it ruins and otherwise good pizza. Find a better cheese, and put less on it and you've got a Winner! read more

Visited 10/14/2024 Well after all the locales praise about the new Pizza and Sandwiches at Mirage Gas I had to give them a try. I'm not disappointed with what I ordered. Tried The Burger Combo, The Garlic Parmesan Wings, The Philly Cheesesteak, and a Slice of Pepperoni & Sausage Pizza. The Pizza was ok but not great. Perhaps better ordered as a whole Pizza and Fresh. The Burger was quite good and definitely worth the Price Point. The Fries were very Good and cooked perfectly. The Garlic Parmesan Wings were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Worth a Try. And The Philly Cheesesteak was very tasty but could have has a little more Meat and Cheese. Unfortunately Preparation Time was a bit long for my order. Could use some improvement. ‍ Staff was very nice and friendly. Prices for the menu is family friendly. All in All this new takeout only fast food place is worth a visit and I'll visit more often. One of thee best Buffalo style Pizzas I've had since I was home in Buffalo. The crust is some of the best I've ever had including Buffalos! ( huge compliment). Stopped here for some snacks and to use the restroom. The sweetest woman in the world said "give me a minute and I'll clean it real quick." By the time I stowed my snacks, she was just finishing up mopping the floor. Her smile and thoughtfulness in cleaning up made my day! Bathroom is around back and unisex. Fair warning, lol. read more

The gas here is fine and the cheapest in Borrego, but that's not what's exciting about Mirage. What is really exciting is the transformation this "gas station" is going through. Suddenly it's more than just a stop over for a place to fill up your vehicle. Now it's a place where you can fill up yourself. On the menu: buffalo chicken pizza - the bomb! It's a Hooter's, here we come special. Perfect pizza dough, perfect buffalo chicken seasoning. Could eat it forever. We also ordered a pepperoni and jalapeño pizza. Very good, too. I personally do not like tomato sauce too much, but if you do, it's awesome. The dough is to die for. What's best is that you can buy the whole pie for $14.99. That's an amazing Borrego price. We ordered 3 different pizzas and they were ready in 30 minutes. It was kinda strange picking them up at a Gas Station/ liquor store/pizza shop but they were very nice and the pizzas were great! We all enjoyed them. My son said they were some of the best pizzas he has ever had! read more

It's hard to find a business in Borrego Springs that is open after 9:00 pm. The Mirage is open until midnight, 1:00 am on weekends! Need milk, ice cream or something to drink - they are open to serve. Recently, they even added hot food to go until 10:00 pm! Pizza, burgers & fries cooked to order. I'm from Philly and the Philly Cheese Steak at this gas station is the closest to the real thing I have found anywhere. Jersey Mike's had the "closest to the real thing" award until the Mirage Gas Station. Two weeks ago I ordered a couple pizzas. In that case I found it very similar to pizza in Sicily. The crust is great. They have a real winner here. And it looks like Borrego scored a top spot for take out food. Right now you just want into the mini-mart of the Mirage gas station and they have menus by the cash register, but you never ever get the feeling that this is some kind of restaurant. It's like that part is a secret. And it is a secret, at least at this moment. After a long weekend camping in Palm Canyon at Anza Borrego, I wanted to top off the truck before heading over the hill through some late winter weather. I passed a couple of funky looking stations, navigated the town roundabout, and found this nice little station. Mrs. and my daughter went inside for snacks and drinks, while I filled the tank and washed the windshield. Reports from inside were a clean and organized store, cordial service, and the coffee my bride brought out for me was fresh and hot at 11 AM. Bonus for gas station Java. Yeah, there's a small-town markup on top of California's already-high gas prices, but not too much of a gouge. Distribution to small markets and lack of competition didn't help the price, either... but I've been to places that were a lot worse. In the end, a reputable spot for fuel, snacks, and assorted odds and ends. We'll be back on our next desert camping trip. read more

Not bad for a smaller petrol station miles from anywhere else. It's the closest petrol station coming out of exploring Anza Borrego Desert State Park and it's not too shabby at all! Prices weren't as ridiculous and it's actually quite well maintained. No complaints, they take card, have a clean toilet and decent priced petrol. About all you could ask for in the middle of the desert. read more

Gas is available 24hr/day. Inside isn't open all day, but is nearly depending on the season. Great place for gas and quick supplies. The owner is great too! He'll often order products not normally in-stock if requested. read more

2 girls on a road trip, with a mechanical problem in the middle of the hot desert. Lucky we have met Shuan that was so nice and professional. He checked our car, fixed the little problem. It cost us only the regular checkup fee. 40$. Was absolutely Honest!! We where Lucky! And I recommend this place with all my heart!!! read more
