Food was great. Menu was great. Service was a great. A real gem if traveling through Morganton area.

After some failed Valentine's Day dinner plans, we decided to try this place out because someone on the phone told us there was only a 20 minute wait. When we arrived, we were seated in less than 5 minutes and had menus instantly and drinks shortly after. Our waitress was friendly and quick without making us feel rushed and made sure our orders were correct after a lost ticket. We ordered the pretzel appetizer which was down right dreamy, and our burgers were great. We can't wait to try more of the menu! The ambiance was nice, feeling more like someone's sport-themed home hangout than a typical sports bar. We couldn't be happier with our service or the price! We will definitely be back. read more

I travel a lot for work, like over 200 nights a year in a hotel. I've always been in search of the best hamburger in the US. I've got to tell you, this ranks in the top 5, EASY. I'm normally a Carolina style guy but you have got to try the PB Bring it. It may not sound appeal but I promise you your senses will be overwhelmed in a good way and you will love it. In addition, the onion rings with the spicy ranch are killer. I've brought friends in from out of town and mention the burger, they aren't interested when I describe it but I promise to both eat and buy it if they don't like it. I found this on Yelp on a whim on the way home from the mountains. One of the best decisions I've ever made. The service was great, as was the food. I didn't really want a burger, but ordered the burger with PEANUT BUTTER, JALAPEÑO BACON JELLY, and the rest of the fixings. I had a side of hand cut fries that were fresh and delicious with the perfect amount of salt. My husband ordered the wings (lemon pepper/Nashville hot) and fries. Our daughter had Mac n cheese with a side of apple sauce. My burger was one of the best ones I've had in 15 years, easily. We sat outside, which is the only qualm I have about this place. Many of the chairs were broken, and uncomfortable. There were many hornets and yellow jackets (even in almost the 2nd week in October). Both our servers were great. Every time I've eaten here the service has been great! The bison burger is the best burger I've eaten in my life. The facility is always clean, it's a nice place to eat with friendly staff, great local beer on tap. Parking can be tough at times but it's worth it to eat there. There is outdoor dining as well which is nice in the fall. read more

It was all delicious. We ordered today and I was disappointed in the eagles philly. The amount of meat was inadequate. My name is Justin. I've lived in Morganton for about a year and a half now. I've been to blue 42 a handful of times now. The PBring it has become a go to order for myself. Tonight I stopped in very hungry after working in the yard all day and not eating before going to my softball game... when leaving the game with my mom and dog in tow, we were deciding between blue 42, town tavern, or chic filet. We decided on blue 42 and I walked in right before 9 to place a to go order. They were kind enough to take my order so I placed an order for two burgers and a Philly cheesesteak and a beer while I waited for them to prepare the order. I asked if Ron was working and they said yes. He then came out once he finished preparing my meals. So I got to say hi to him and give him a huge hug! I just love that man and always love interacting with him. He's always got a bright smile and great attitude and I always know my food is in good hands when he's cooking. This review is for the establishment, but most of all for Ron! We have a fifteen minute drive home from blue 42 which can be a challenge at times. I was prepared to throw my food in the microwave for 23 seconds per usual. I must say the food was phenomenal and I was starving! I wolfed that burger so fast and it was amazing as always! Ron was finally given a moment to catch his breath and stepped outside as I was leaving. He got to say hello to my mom in the car and dog. We just really appreciate his demeanor and great attitude. It always bring a smile to my face and it goes a long way having someone who cares like that cooking your meal. I'd give 10 stars specifically for Ron if I could. Very well done Blue 42, and it says a lot that he still holds it down over there. I thank you guys as an eatery but also Ron as a person. I don't ever want to not see Ron working at Blue 42 because he truly is a special person! I look forward to stopping in next time after softball games. $38 bucks for twenty wings and two sides of burnt pub chips, wings were decent size unfortunately they were garbage..... the park garlic had decent flavor and the XXX Reaper was meh (honestly I've probably got a hotter bottle of Tabasco in the fridge) all in all I might try it again but probably not considering both times it's been stupid expensive for at best mediocre food. read more

After being refused service at another restaurant for reasons we couldn't figure out, we decided to come here. The waitress had menus on the table before we were even seated, and was extremely helpful. She knew the menu like she had memorized it, and was able to not only answer our questions, but point out exactly where it was at. The cheese fries were insanely good, and the burgers were cooked to perfection. Even though I can't name three NFL teams, and know only two college teams, I still felt right at home even though it's a sport bar. If I could give Blue 42s ten stars, I absolutely would. Found this place on YELP and was not disappointed. We tried the Wings and they were meaty and the house sauce is just the right amount of BBQ and heat. The Dipping Fries w/queso are the best I have tried. Took home the Giant in house baked Sweet Roll for later. Will definitely be back to try the Peanut butter Hamburgar. Stood at door for nearly 10 minutes before any of the staff acknowledged me while my re-made order sat on the bar. Checked order. Sat down to eat almost 2 hours from placing order. Our family stopped by this restaurant after spending some time at Catawba Meadows. The burgers were fantastic...very juicy and the toppings were great. Our kids ordered the sliders and loved them (it was enough to fill up a ten year old, while the five year old was filled up after just one of the two they served). There were a lot of onion rings coming out of the kitchen, so we tried them and they were also really good. This is definitely a place we would return to again. read more

The jalapeño jam is incredible- get a side of it and add it to any burger. It's the best. You're gonna have to wait for your food here, because they cook it to order and make it fresh. The customer service isn't anything great. Most the time they do seem a bit confused, one time I ordered a burger called back a minute and 30 seconds later and asked to cancel it and order something else and they told me no I would still have to pay for it. But I've been a small business owner and know their employees come and go and they don't always reflect the product and the true business.
