I believe you could count this as one of the best Salisbury restaurants we have. I mean, this place has been doing it for around 45 years. Dino is an excellent owner and knows how to run a seafood house. He has the three C's of diners and dives. Awesome customer service, great cleanliness, seafood, and pretty decent cost effectiveness. I mean, it constantly does better than some of the places I've been to at the ocean at making good seafood plates. I have enjoyed coming here for over 45 years. I think you will be happy you did also. Highly recommend anything on the menu. Unlike other establishments, he has kept his same cooks and staff for quite a long time. The food was good. The hushpuppies they brought were piping hot, and dipped in the salad dressing they are really good. Menu says two bowls of those per table, but we never got a second bowl. It didn't matter, since we still had a few left, perhaps they bring the second when the first bowl is empty. It would make sense. Half stuffed flounder was ok, a bit dry, but tasty. My sister had catfish; fabulous! The menu said my dinner came with one side, but they gave me choice of 2. Mixed veg were fresh and hot, and the fried okra was great. We couldn't finish all the food, but we did our best. One of us got a slice of carrot cake to go; it looked so good that we wanted to share it, and we did so when we could eat again! I've always enjoyed eating at Blue Bay until I seen the intestinal track left in my shrimp. Over 75 percent of the shrimp was not cleaned. Shrimp poop goes against my strict diet . I called to inform Blue Bay about their uncleaned shrimp and did not get a friendly customer service. Guess my feedback was unwanted. I expect to get what I pay for. I thought I was paying for clean shrimp. I learnt the hard way that shrimp can very dangerous to your liver if it is not clean. Beware pay close attention to your baby shrimp. Oh my gosh they use to be so good and a good value but not anymore. We've been going here probably 30 years and we stopped 3 years ago because the Monday night shrimp special just wasn't even worth the low price of 4.99. I believe now it has gone up again to 5.49. We decided to go back and give it another chance on a sunday evening...big mistake. They have a list of sunday specials, the baby shrimp plate on sundays is 11.99, what the heck is special about that? Answer...nothing! It was a plate full but not at all worth the higher price tag. One thing I always liked about them is no matter what you were drinking they brought a pitcher of it to the table and left it. The flounder was over cooked.. kinda chewy. The shrimp was okay, and the devil crab was okay as well. Had decent flavor. I only came because we were having dinner with my in laws, but if it was up to me.. I would never eat at these kinds of restaurants. My father in law loves their fried oysters.. says it's one of the better places to get them because they're big. Our service was quick and friendly. The owner of this business is an absolute jerk. Ordered an Alaskan White Salt and Peppered and got it with no salt or pepper. The waitress just had a misunderstanding and was super sweet about it but then the owner sent her back with both plates and said we "had to eat them because he wasn't wasting money". Then when asking to speak to him he BLAMED the waitress and said it was her fault we had to eat the food not his. The poor waitress left crying. A simple mistake on her part and not upset with her at all. She was great the whole visit and even after! My family has been frequenting Blue Bay for years. My grandma swears that it is the best seafood place inland and only likes to get fish from here. Not any disrespect to Blue Bay, I am not sure I would go as far as my grandmother's testimony but I will say, I have never had a bad experience here. The endless hushpuppies, delicious food, personal table pitchers of drink, and always attentive and friendly staff make for a great, casual, family meal. Point is- respect it as a classic southern fish house and you will love it! Tips and warnings: the fried fish is amazing, I always get the fried baby shrimp, potato wedges, and ranch. They also have delicious sweet tea. Which brings me to the next section... warning: if you are carb watching, ignore my food recommendation. Also, as per the endless hushpuppies- when these delicious, fried pieces of dough hit the table piping hot, be very careful not to pound the whole container, you will not be able eat your meal...yes that is experience talking... It was a different way to enjoy boiled seafood! Really good! The seasoning was outstanding.

We had a party of 20 with all the adults and kids. It was my uncles 90th birthday and this is where we went. I think they give u nice portions and the price is right compared to other places. You can also get your platter fried or broiled. The service was on point and the food was good. I've been eating at Blue Bay since I was a teen, and it was down toward Cleveland where I live. There are now two locations in Salisbury - this one near the old mall. This is not coastal seafood. You've got frozen seafood but fresh for frozen. I got boiled shrimp once. Awful. The waitress noticed I wasn't eating it and replaced it with fried without me asking. I wouldn't have asked. I did order that rubbery, "healthy" shrimp. Go with the fried baby shrimp, fried flounder, or fried catfish (peppered for a spicier zip). Got the theme? You want fried here. The best part of the meal would be the free hush puppies. Those are the best in town. They refill if you finish before your meal comes too. Service has always been good over all these years. My waitress kept forgetting to bring me extra lemons, but she was pleasant and helped us pick some great combos. Hot dishes were cold; our palate vehemently disagreed with the cold-slaw and cold onion rings. Fish was without seasoning. Best seafood in town by FAR! Now, please take into consideration, we are NOT near the ocean, and yes you will find better seafood and selection at a place on the coast, but this place is GOOD! I have been here twice in the few months I have lived here and both experiences have been good. It's a little "cafeteria" feeling when you walk in, so atmosphere is lacking (which is why it only got 4 stars). They do have a LOT of fried choices, but they offer broiled as well. My favorite dish is the crab cakes! They are moist but don't fall apart, and the flavor is excellent. My husband and I split the pick 3 combo last time we were there and we got the fan-tail shrimp, crab cakes and salt and pepper catfish. My husbands favorite out of those was the fan-tail shrimp, mine was crab cakes of course, and the catfish was good as well. As far as price goes, they are very reasonable, the pick 3 combo was $15, and was more than enough for both of us to eat. It came with 2 sides as well. When you arrive they place a basket of what I call "hush puppy terds" on your table. They are hush puppies that are long, and kinda curved, and well look like a little puppy terd, but they taste GREAT! LOL So, for the Salisbury area this is the best seafood I have had! Even if I weren't in Salisbury, I would still pick blue Bay over other chain restaurants. read more

Dinner is served hot, specials vary for each week day; we usually get the Monday Canadian flounder. Superb staff and management visits tables regularly. Very good clam chowder and large shrimp for cocktails. Has a high health rating and always is clean without "fishy smell". Never tried non seafood. Has always been consistent.
