We met at Bangkok for our youngest son's birthday. We had 8 in our party. We walked in just a little late and they had about 4 different plates of appetizers on our table. As we decided on our meal our waitress did a great job of keeping water and tea on our table plus any type of sauces we asked for to dip our egg rolls and spring rolls and Crab dragons (one of my favorites). Our oldest son and his girlfriend was enjoyed the Sushi. Our youngest had ordered a bowl of chicken and rice soup with scallions. I noticed he was letting it cool so I got me a spoonful and in my older years I can't handle a lot of salt in or on my food. And his soup definitely had to much. As our food was being our daughter in-law had a bowl of egg drop soup. Something I also enjoy. But she took about two spoons full and pushed it to the side. I started to put my spoon in and she warned me that it was extremely Salty. So I took her word for it. The waitress took it off the bill. I had ordered Hibachi steak and shrimp. My steak was as tuff as it could be. The shrimp were okay but nothing to write home about. So with in a two week span my wife and I spent over 100 dollars on food from two different restaurants in Salisbury that unless we just happened to hit on an off day we were very disappointed in our food. Hubs and I went for dinner on a Saturday night. We'd never been but it came highly recommended from friends. A short wait of 15 mins, but NBD. Once seated, we did *love* that the two person tables along the wall are so close to one another. We could basically hear the couples next to use entire convo. We ordered the crab rangoons as an app and they were so freakin good. As pictured, we got a solider roll and sesame chicken for our entrees and they were really good! Bangkok has been in Salisbury forever, but I have just never made my way there. However, I was rather disappointed. We started with Crab Rangoons and my husband got "crab meat soup." The rangoons were chewy and tasted re-fried, the soup looked like broth with a stick of imitation crab. My husband enjoy the soup anyway, but I was soooo disappointed in the rangoons, especially when there are other places in town that make them wonderfully. As for food I got the crunchy shrimp sushi and it was delicious! There are few choices in Salisbury for sushi, so I was quite pleased that it was so yummy. My husband got the Bangkok hibachi special. He is an easy going fellow, so he enjoyed his meal. I also ordered a blue motorcycle drink, which took some time to arrive and I believe it was because they didn't have a bartender. It truly tasted like they gave me purely liquor with a splash of blue curaçao. (Some may like this, but not me) really expensive to not to have been able to eat. Lastly, I do NOT like how close the seats are to one another. The gal beside us could 100% hear any and all things we talked about and likewise. Returned here again after the first meal, and ordered the exact same things! The food is delicious, portions are plentiful, and the service has been very prompt and friendly. The spice level is no joke- I get a 3 and it's exactly hot enough for me. This is a neat little spot in Downtown Salisbury. We enjoyed a nice dinner here on a Saturday night. We arrived right at 5PM and were able to get a table for 4 immediately. Our server was very helpful in guiding us to choose some sushi rolls (see pic). Given the name of the restaurant, maybe we should have gone for Thai food instead. The sushi was just ok. Not bad, but not great. We would give the restaurant another try next time in town. Average rating was really do to the sushi being "average". Nice "old" downtown feel. Nothing that we had here was absolutely incredible and that we'd necessarily have to make a trip back for. The egg rolls, vegetable roll, and curry were all quite good but average. The fried rice however was absolutely terrible. The smell of the rice almost took my appetite alone. Have you ever walked into a pet store and smelled the bedding that hamsters are in....? Literally the same smell. For some reason I thought maybe I just needed to get over the smell and try it but that was a terrible mistake. That alone will most definitely keep us from returning. Let me start by saying that we have gone to this restaurant several times and it was delicious. Our first visit post covid last weekend was disappointing. The portions are way smaller than they used to be. My husband ordered Pad Thai and usually he couldn't finish it all and took leftovers home. This time he was still hungry and it had very little chicken. It was the same issue with my shrimp pineapple fried rice. Also, the rice was not as flavorful as it used to be.
