Loved this coffee shop! The line was out the door when we got there around 2pm on a Saturday, but it moved pretty fast. The space is very open and has a long table in the middle for community seating. Also has a cute little bar area right next to their open window. There are many tables and chairs outside, so would be perfect to sit out there on a nice day. FOOD: Caffe latte: warmed my soul. It was the perfect amount of bitterness to the creaminess of the milk Cold brew: always a good choice. This coffee was a little more mild than other cold brews, but was still good Avocado toast: enough said Almond butter toast: Most people should know that almond butter is not as sweet as peanut butter, but it was combined with some jam, and was so yummy. But make sure you have a drink, because it is very very sticky Butter toast with honeycomb: YUM. Sweet. Savory. Delicious. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Just loved the overall atmosphere. Their menu isn't extensive but what they do make, they make well. I went for a basic iced coffee to get a taste and it was well rounded. They have cute seating inside and an open air feel with lots of options to sit around the canal. read more

Ugh it's hard not to like Blue Bottle Coffee. I'm tempted to give less than 5 stars because the prices, even by DC standards, are high ($6.50 for a 16oz iced coffee, $5.50 for a chocolate croissant). But despite that, I can't stop myself from coming back here again and again because the flavors are really on point, and the setting, right on the Georgetown canal with really great outdoor sitting options (both directly outside and across the canal), is perfect for reading, relaxing, or chatting on a nice day. On a cooler day, the indoor open concept setting is great as well. Being a sweet tooth, the New Orleans Style iced coffee is my go-to. Pastry wise, the Almond Tart, especially when warmed up, is divine. read more

Blue Bottle is always a great coffee chain for getting a quick caffeine break. Despite being located in a busy area, this one is somewhat tucked away from the main streets. There was a long line on a Sunday afternoon but it moved fairly quick and they pumped out the drinks fast too. There were plenty of tables and seating both indoors and outside but although there were many people getting work done here, I don't think I would've been able to since it's quite loud. I always thought Blue Bottle was way too overrated - great coffee, but at a much too high price point. Lattes starts at $5.50. Flavored lattes can be $6-7, which would be about $8-9 after tax and tip which is a whole meal. I haven't been to Blue Bottle for 2+ years, but I was curious about their pour overs and their beans. I got the "Winter Blend" (tasting notes: dark chocolate, molasses, and blackberry preserves) pour over yesterday which had a lot of depth and was quite delicious. It definitely had strong chocolate after taste, and it was sweet and tasty every sip. Despite the really long lines, the barista did a great job making my pour over. I appreciate this a lot because most cafes tend to have lower quality pour overs when they're busy. Definitely worth $5.50 for a good pour over! I really like stopping in here when I can. I grew up on Vietnamese coffee and this hits the spot for me. I was first introduced in the Bay Area where you can buy the little milk like cartoons at your local grocery store. The staff are quite nice and the drinks come out pretty quick. It had red flakes (maybe caramelized(??) red pepper flakes) on top, which added a really nice zesty but also soft kick to the toast. I stopped by this cute coffee shop while visiting Georgetown. I ordered the Muscovado Sugar Latte. I thought it was good but didn't think it was anything special. The reason I gave 5 stars was because the staff was super friendly and knowledgable, and they helped me decide what to order. Since they are only doing to-go orders, they let me order my latte with my lid on the side so that I could admire the latte art :) The shop is also very COVID safe with stickers on the floor for where to stand and plastic barriers between the employees and customers. read more

What a cute coffee shop! Depending on how you get here, it may a little harder to find. It's tucked right along the canal off the main drag. My husband is an avid coffee drinker and raved about this place. I ended up coming here on a Tuesday morning with my daughter (in a stroller) from the opposite side of the canal, I might add. I ended up walking up and down 2 go flights of stairs with a stroller and car seat in the rain for this coffee. And guess what? It was worth it. From the atmosphere to the friendliness of the employees to the coffee, I loved it. I ended up trying a latte with oat milk and their avocado toast. AND WOW! So good. I left with a to go coffee to try their coffee beans roasted (and to be honest to have the energy to walk back down the stairs). Came here for coffee and brunch. Very clean with a minimalist vibe, some outdoor seating, tucked in a quieter side of Georgetown. Food: We got the chia seed pudding, waffle, pesto sandwich, and avocado toast. My favorite items were the avocado toast and waffle. But, do not get the pesto sandwich. They pulled it straight out of a fridge and when we asked to get it toasted, they said they didn't have a toaster big enough. It was cold and extremely salty. Coffee: I got the New Orleans Iced Coffee was just ok. Will ask them to go a little lighter on the cream next time because half of my drink was basically milk. Overall, I felt as though the price did not match the quality of taste. The only thing really worth it to me was the waffle. Amazing spot! They get points just for that. The window opening up to the view outside is perfection. I tried this place last weekend and really liked the vibe! They have lots of seating inside and a decent amount outside too. I tried the Iced Matcha Latte and it was not too bad! Really good coffees served by a very friendly staff. The place itself looks very modern with wood tables and chairs and a lot of bright lighting that would be good for doing some work.
