Dropped by here for a midday pick me up. Every time we passed, it was incredibly busy. I've heard good things, so I was pretty excited to try. At the counter, the worker asked what I wanted, and I mentioned just a blonde or light brew. He got incredibly confused and became awkward. I guess they only do pour overs, but I'm not sure why they couldn't do it pour over of a light. Maybe it was a weird question? Maybe I'm too used to Starbucks. I floundered and then got an Americano. I should've started with that anyway because it was around the same price. It was made deliciously. In general, the coffee is great and the service is fast. The space felt a little inviting. One long table with trash cans at the end. Super big and not cozy. A little messy and busy and claustrophobic despite being huge. Convenient location for walking though. read more

Typically, I am not the type to write reviews but terrible service!! I was served by a guy I believe the other coworkers were calling "Richard". Came in Wednesday morning at 10am and was given the worst service ever!! Richard who was taking my order rolled his eyes multiple times at my colleague and I and kept messing up what we wanted to order. Do not bring work people here! Additionally, I noticed another customer spilled their drink at the main table and while other customers scrambled to help, the staff did nothing while looking at the scene on hand. Customers had to wipe up the mess themselves with store provided napkins and nothing else while no one came to check in on them-- Richard and the two other slender white women who were working at the time. I love this coffee shop. I first tried them a few years back at The Mint in San Francisco and was happy to try them again in Morningside Heights. Nothing quite like it- I got a hot pour over and it was delicious- lots of depth of flavor to linger over. The atmosphere is calm and clean. read more

I'm officially done with this place. Been patronizing it quite a bit during the pandemic, and have noticed quality be very up-and-down. Sometimes Cold Brew has enough ice, sometimes not; sometimes they let the tea steep long enough, sometimes it tastes off. Always seems like they're training someone new. Also the food is usually not good, as it seems like they let things sit around too long. For these prices, this is all hard to justify. Only reason I kept giving it a shot is that it is literally across the street for me. Today I got snapped at by more than 1 employee when asking for a cover for drinks. Throughout Covid they just gave drinks with a cover on them, so it really wasn't a stupid question. Now that Covid is 'done' everyone goes back to being rude, and you get to walk the length of the store with hot drinks in tow to get covers even though they have covers literally next to pickup area behind plexiglass. Along with a side of passive aggression of course. You'd think a chain would have better customer service and some ability to regulate the quality of their products. Seems like they have a following now, so guess they don't need me. I'll stick to Hex and Co (yes they have good coffee) and Oren's instead, where they actually give a damn about their coffee and show respect to customers. read more

This place is a staple for me since it is so close to campus. It is always packed with students who come here to work or read. Their coffee is over the average! I can trust whatever coffee they offer. The pastry is also healthy and delicious. It also has stable wifi, restroom, a fair amount of seats. I deduct 1 star because the price is on the expensive side, comparing to other great cafes. But will definitely come back. read more

The coffee is good at Blue Bottle. I am a fan and have been to several in the Bay Area. This one was packed, small and hard to maneuver around in. I went on a Sunday afternoon and had to wait about 15 minutes for a black coffee. It was March but I sat outside since there was no seating inside. read more

I've been going here for months and it's pretty good. My fave is the New Orleans cold brew. It's good but the sweetness is inconsistent-- sometimes really sweet, other times it's less so. My small NOLA hot was tasty, but for $6.50? And when they didn't have my requested soy milk, I asked for half and half, and they charged me $.50 more, without telling me! Then, with at least 6 customers enjoying themselves with drinks at 6:30pm, they said they were closing early at 6:45pm, 15 minutes early!
