I visited this place during a break from my studies. This small café is very busy, but that doesn't make it any worse. You can tell people choose this spot for their lunch break. They have vegan pastries and several different croissants and puff pastries-they look delicious. You can also get decent-quality grain coffee here. I ordered an iced matcha, and it turned out great-the perfect flavor. The staff is polite and friendly. I'll definitely be coming back here again!

Okay, this is one of my fav coffee places on uws. The ambience is cool! I usually communicate with 2 girls who work there (one with curly hair and another wear glasses) but other baristas are also great and welcoming. They know their regular customers, always smiling and trying to have a small talk with everyone. But what is even better-coffee!!! I usually stop by to grab an oat vanilla latte and to be honest it's one of the best lattes that I've ever tried in nyc. A big pricy (it's 7$+ tip) but totally worth it. Baked goods are fine, nothing crazy but be prepared that if you'll stop by around 11:30 am there will be nothing left, lol. Also keep in mind that it's a really small place, literally 3 tables and a bench so I wouldn't stay there for a long time or schedule a meeting there. For the rest: 9 out of 10 if you are in the area check it out

Plowshares has had a rough time during the pandemic. They appear to be bouncing back. This location is very cool and the employees I met are super friendly and efficient. The day I was there the place was empty. I particularly love the baked goods. They get them from at least three local merchants. I've only heard of one of their bakers and that's Balthazar. Next visit I'm taking a selection of the pastries home. Plowshares is a great place to go for morning coffee and a pastry. If you happen to be in the neighborhood I recommend you stop in. Tell them Marianne from Yelp sent you!

There are only three or four full-fledged espresso baristas in New York City whom I will vouch for overseas after savoring hundreds of cortados and cappuccinos traveling. Join me in discovering Colin here (Plowshares Coffee cafe along Broadway located @ UWS). Absolutely Phenomenal. Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Let's all hope the Big Apple keeps him long enough for you to enjoy what I was spoiled generously with. Cortado in Gibraltar glass with a touch of chai to stay

Great coffee and a wide selection of pastry. The shop is a bit small and can be crowded and noisy. I like it.

You have to go in person to join the waitlist, and the staff will not seat you unless your full party is there. It is always fun going on the weekend because they have specialty menu items. The food is consistently tasty and served very quickly. A few highlights include: - Banh Chung | Crispy Rice Cake: A solid starter to share among two to four people. The texture is chewy with a light crispiness on the outside. There is also a vegetarian option. - Vegetarian Curry: A savory yellow curry made with a coconut milk base. Really appreciate the variety of seasonal vegetables included. - Bun Ca Hai Phong | Fried Fish and Tomato Noodle Soup: Highly recommend getting this during the weekend! A nice alternative to the typical meat-based dishes. The tilapia is lightly fried, so the tomato broth does not become overly heavy, and the dill helps cut through any extra oil to balance out the flavors. - The beef noodle soups are also very good, but are more classic options. The rice platters are great to share since the portions are generously sized. The staff are always friendly and helpful throughout the meal. Service is very fast, especially considering the restaurant has always been full.

The inside was cute and cozy - a true mom and pop shop. When we left, the whole family showed up and was eating together which was super cute. For the food, I would say skip the pho - it was okay. But the bun thit nuong was pretty good!! The fish sauce was a little on the sweeter side but with the egg rolls, the noodles, and the grilled pork, it was so fresh and delicious. It's one of my favorite Viet dishes and it didn't disappoint. The viet iced coffee was also pretty good for New York! I want to come back to try their banh mí!

I had a sip of my lemonade, and it tasted like strawberry syrup water and I couldn't taste the lemonade at all. The drink tasted horrible. I normally don't like to complain at cafes or restaurants but given that this lemonade was $7 before tax, we decided to ask the staff if they put lemonade in the drink. The staff answered they had no lemonade. We were very confused because they did not mention that they were out of lemonade when we ordered or even when they handed us the order. It was kinda unbelievable that they would just gave this strawberry syrup water to us when we ordered strawberry lemonade. The staff offered us another free drink after and I just got a matcha latte. Fairly poor experience here. While I appreciated them offering us another drink after we complain, not every one feels comfortable complaining. If we didn't complain, we would've wasted $7. This place would've been perfect for working otherwise. They had a lot of tables and pretty fast WiFi. All their drinks were very expensive though, with most of them being $7-9 before tax.

Another cafe for the win!…read more I have to say the first time i visited this business I was unsure I was going to like it. It turned out I did and ever since I have been enjoying their food/beverages. One of my favorite foods are (some) of the mochi donuts and the chicken sandwuches. If you are a food junkie and love donuts, Cloud Touch makes it twice a day and possibly more if it's busy. Brooklyn Roasting company coffee is a bonus for me since I love the taste of this brand. If you do not like your coffee strong, suggest just one shot of expresso or two (expresso shots varies by the cup size). The service in this establishment is friendly and attentive to the order you place. You get a discount when you pay with cash. Paying with card has an additional fee. There is a seating area inside the cafe as well as outside. The indoor seating has a bench and two round coffee table. The outdoor seating is wonderful for when the weather is warm. But, the plus is that there is outdoor seating year round. With so many cafes in New York City, this one is small yet stands out in its unique way.

No phone orders either. It's about $9 for a sandwich, so not cheap, but there's lots of seasonal/combo promos and sales, and 10% off for paying in cash. They also sell Korean corndogs, katsu sandos, mochi donuts, and coffee/drinks. We got a pork sausage/cheese egg sandwich, and while I loved it (it's thick, fluffy, savory and very filling), it tasted basically like an elevated Egg McMuffin - no disrespect either since I consider it a compliment lol. Not the most spectacular food nor the best value, but it'll do in a pinch for a quick and tasty breakfast or lunch! I'd return whenever I'm hungry and in the area.
