We went to the framing area (had a poster framed a couple years back and we were very pleased with how it turned out) and waited. We knew the employee was assisting the other customer with the fabrics. After about 10-15 mins the customer left and we continued to wait by the framing area. The employee did NOT acknowledge us even once. After about 5 mins I went over to the employee, who was leaning on the counter on their cell phone, and asked if there was someone who could help us with framing. She seemed annoyed I was even asking and rudely said "no, they are not here today". I asked what days they are here and she said "well sometimes on Saturdays and on Mondays". I asked if I should call before coming in again. She said "yeah, that would probably be a good idea". We left and as we got to the car the person I was with said we will NOT be back. This employee wasted 15-20 minutes of our time ignoring us and had no customer service skills whatsoever. We had planned on bringing several more posters over time to be framed, which we knew from our first experience is NOT and inexpensive endeavor, but we have now decided to take our business elsewhere!!

Sadly,6 years ago my gram mother passed away and I inherited the painting. The painting really does look like St Mark's square in Venice Italy. ( I went to Italy 3 years ago and Venice was the first city we visited ) I wanted to get a new frame on it and hang it in my bedroom. I was worried because I didn't want anyone that re framed it to ruin it, like I said before it has been in my family for a long time and I would be devastated if anything happen to it. I did some research and found this place. I called KC's and talked to one of the owners Kelly that does all the framing here. She was more than happy to look at it and give me a price. I told her how important the painting is to me and after talking to her I had a good feeling I wouldn't have a problem leaving it with her. Also if you are looking for sewing machines supply or fabric this is the pace to go. Both my wife and I went up and meet Kelly and she was super nice and really knows what she is doing when it comes to framing work. Needless to say I left my painting with her to frame. She also put a new hanger in the back and re papered the back of the painting. She also went out of her way to find someone that restores paintings as my needed to be clean but she doesn't do restoration work. Kelly said I should have my painting back in 2 weeks and that is exactly how long it took. I would highly recommend Kelly for any framing needs. When my painting was all done Kelly called and informed me and said no rush whenever you can get here great. I arrived and she had my painting wrapped in construction paper. She showed me, and I couldn't be more pleased. My gram mother would have loved it! It is now hanging in my bedroom where I can look at it everyday reminding me of my Gram mother.

I was interested in framing one of my Hermes scarfs and after researching the best way to showcase…read morethe silk scarf, I was told by multiple framers, it should be sewed to the mat within the frame. This made me extremely nervous as I didn't want the scarf harmed in any way, but after speaking with Kettlewell & Edward's, I decided to go with them, and I'm so glad I did. They took their time showing me different combinations of mats and frames because the scarf had so many colors in it. I had no problem waiting 2 months for the finished product and it came out better than I could have thought. A lot of Hermes scarfs show bunching or wrinkles once stitched because it's difficult to get it squarely perfect, but mine came out just right. The whole experience cost me $500, and while a bit expensive, the attention the detail, personal care and previous experience of dealing with Hermes scarfs made it worth it. Thank you!

If you are even considering it, make a video of your entire introductory visit. You'll be shown a studio and told about facilities you can use, then later told you can't use that shelf or that table the owner expressly told to you to use. Your equipment will be stolen. Your work will be stolen. The furniture you have to provide yourself to work on in your rented space will be stolen. Then, to shut you up, the studio owner and other renters will invent nasty lies about you so that no one will work with you and you feel threatened there. You will be forced out. You deserve better.

Like collage level studio awesomeness but anyone can become a member or take a class... IT is a true community the artist create and share ideas it is creativity heaven! Side note all you parents with sons and daughters who have low self esteem ceramics is an excellent way to build them up bc it is a taught skill you do not necessarily have to be super creative to find success with ceramics. The good: compared to the old store, it is well lit, the aisles are wider, and it is easier to find things. The hours are probably more regular as well. The bad: the inventory is the same as the previous store, but with even less O, S, and G scales. So, if you are an N or HO modeler you will find this store is nearly the same as the previous one. However, if you model in some of the less-popular scales you won't find much here aside from some scratchbuilding supplies. The prices seemed reasonable. Still... the area neads hobby shops, and I will do what I can to support this one. Check it out!

Last autumn, I fully enjoyed my Beginning Oil Painting class at Saratoga Arts. Lisa David was very…read moreattentive and the facility was comfortable and spacious. I was very excited to rejoin this year's class and continue my oil painting journey. This year, I had a very different experience. The class has twice as many students (12) and our classroom is half the size. Because we have so many students in so little space, navigating from the door to my seat was a challenge (we had two students set up right at the classroom door blocking the entrance). It was difficult to set up our equipment, learn, and paint. Lisa tried hard to answer all our questions and check our work; she was only able to give us a fraction of the attention I experienced from my class last year. During the class, Lisa even expressed her irritation at the large class size. After my complaint to Kristin Langevin, she gave me many excuses and is adamant that they did nothing wrong, but she was willing to change us to a larger room. Nevertheless, the class size is still too big for one teacher. It just takes too long for Lisa to go around the room and give us meaningful and impactful feedback. Under current management, their focus seems to be maximizing revenue not quality of the class and they are not very interested in listening to student's feedback. It is sad that Saratoga Arts does not appear to be interested in providing quality Art education to the Saratoga community anymore.
