It's now November 1st and I've been waiting 5 MONTHS FOR MY PIECE. I supplied my original art to Heather in June, with a promise of a 3 week delivery on my framed piece. Weeks go by with nothing. She finally responds to my inquiries with her computerized matt cutter is down and I'll have it in 2 weeks. WEEKS go by and nothing. I inquire again and just ask for my $150 deposit back and my art. Her response is the frame is done and she'll have it completed on the following Tuesday. I get no call from her and I text her a week and a half later to let her know a will be in the next day to pick up my 'framed art'. No response. I arrive to her shop during normal business hours and surprise, the store is mysteriously closed. I have friends in the downtown Ballston Spa business district and they tell me she rarely keeps her posted hours. At this point, I just want my artwork back. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!! Please do not bring your work to this shop. Scammer and fraud. I am an artist and I brought 4 pieces of my most prized artwork to this shop with my own frames which were labeled with my name on them on 5/16. For mats and glass, I was charged $350 and I had to give a $175 deposit. I received an invoice via email. Heather stated that she was a bit behind so it would be 3 weeks - maximum 4 weeks, but if I needed anything right away, she could have it done in 2 weeks. On 5/31, I brought in a piece of artwork with the frame telling her I needed it by the end of June/July 1st for a special gift. She said she could do it. It required double matting and glass. She provided no price or invoice on the piece and I didn't question it. She seemed artistic and eager so I thought my work was in good hands - unfortunately I was stupid enough to trust her. For 4 weeks, I heard nothing from her. On 6/24, 5 weeks after I dropped off my work I emailed her. I did not receive a response so I texted her the next day. She responded that she got my email but had no opportunity to respond but that she would that night or the next day. I never heard another word from her. I emailed her on 6/29 and 7/2. No response. She actually put me in the position of begging her for a response. Since she was treating me in such an unprofessional manner and ignoring me, I grew concerned about my artwork and mentioned this to her asking what I needed to do to hear from her. Still no response. On 7/2, my husband and I drove to the shop and it was closed. She had closed 6/30-7/3 and never contacted me knowing full well I needed the one piece of artwork by 6/30. I texted her when I left the shop that day...no response. On 7/5, my husband and I drove to the shop yet again to get all of my work from her. She acted like she had no idea what I was talking about and I mentioned the fact that I have not heard one word from her and she tried to tell me she called me and that she never got my 7/3 text. There were no phone calls or anything from her - just radio silence. I told her to get my items and return them to me. She misplaced 3 of the 4 antique frames I brought. I managed to identify one and I had to drive back there yet again for the other 2. She said she couldn't find them even though they were labeled. How was she going to complete the job if she could not identity the frames? I told her to credit my charge card for the deposit. She said she had a 30% restocking fee. There was no mention of that on the invoice or from her and to have that nerve to say that to me after what she put me through was beyond unbelievable. She said she ordered the materials for the 5/31 piece which is really not my problem. She did not complete it in time first of all and since there was no invoice sent or amount given, then basically, there was no proof that the job even existed. It took her quite a while to put the credit through as we waited and waited. I was sure she didn't do it and the bank still has not seen it. She never emailed this credit receipt to me and I had to call her and ask her. I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge. While I did receive the credit receipt from her five days later it was doctored and included a fake job date that never existed. I have confirmed with her financial institution that she never put a credit through. The receipt is a fake and she committed FRAUD. Dealing with this shop has been a horrible and stressful nightmare. You take a customer's money and make promises for completion but don't follow through. Unprofessional, arrogant, neglectful and disturbing behavior. Do not trust this shop and do not bring anything there to frame. I am showing "one" star only because the review will not post without it. read more

I manage the Collamer House Bike & Ski shop in Malta, and recently I needed a few vintage posters framed in order to display them at the shop. I decided to stop in to Blue Caboose because I wanted to support another local business. I am so happy that I did. Even if I had not received any services, I would still be leaving a 5-star review because it was such an enjoyable experience meeting Audrey and Heather. In the end I purchased the frames elsewhere (the posters are odd sizes, and although they are collector items, their value did not warrant the cost of custom frames). They still worked with me to cut custom mats for each of the posters for a fair price. I am extremely happy with both the experience and the finished products. Blue Caboose is definitely my first choice for any framing needs I may have in the future. read more
