Was doing a cross country move and they were really thorough. We did a virtual interview and from the video they were able to determine how Many boxes will be needed and how long it would take to pack everything up. They were in and out in a letter of 2 hours. Upon arrival they unloaded and put things together in less than 2 hours. Throughout the entire trip the driver was in constant contact letting me know of any delays and when he expects to arrive. This moving company was given to me when I contacted Allied. Don was nice giving the initial estimate, but included 4 large Tesla batteries in our move price. After getting the paperwork I saw batteries were not allowed on trucks. Carol had been assigned as our coordinator. So, I emailed asking if the batteries would be allowed. A day went by & I finally called her because we needed to hire electricians to remove them. Turns out, they are not allowed. I asked for a partial refund and was denied. Then 5 movers came to put our stuff in the truck. They pushed some furniture out of the way to move boxes & scratched our wood floor. When I pointed it out, I didn't even get an apology. I then was told our truck would be stored until they found a driver. WHAT!?! I called Carol and she said they had a 15 day window to get our stuff to our new home-It's in the contract. Yeah, I saw a window & figured you were covering for weather, flat tires etc. I would have chosen another company if I thought you weren't going to try & get everything there on the 1st. Which is the ONLY day ever discussed with Don. Carol said ALL companies give a window. I'm sorry, when I pay 11k I don't expect to live in my new home with no furniture, clothes or everyday needs for 15 days. They also do not have truck inventory computerized, even though they put bar code stickers on them and they can not track their drivers. Needless to say, I am not happy with my choice of Allied or Blue Chip Moving. I will happily update this review if everything arrives safely on time. Rn I'm super stressed out. read more

My family and I are preparing for a large move out of state, very long distance. Having not made a move like this before, we really had no idea where to start and, as such, began by asking all moving companies for their quotes, including Blue Chip. Duane, a Relocation Consultant for Blue Chip, was extremely prompt and professional. Whereas every other mover was only able to offer a video consultation, Duane made the effort to actually come out to our home to survey it and ensure that we got the most accurate quote possible. Duane took the time to explain the process to us, the common pitfalls in moving and finding the right company to help with the move, and the like. We got an honest quote from Duane, and he explained every aspect of it. While Blue Chip was ultimately unable to match a price offered by a competitor, Duane nevertheless reviewed the other company's quote with us, checking for issues, and told us in complete honesty that it appeared to be legitimate and accurate, and that we were most likely in good hands with them. We ended up going with the other company, based solely on price (our choice, perhaps we will be mistaken in the end), but Duane's honesty, integrity and professionalism could not be matched by anyone else. Planning a cross-country move from a long time home is nerve-wracking and expensive. Since we had already moved our stuff into storage, we had a tough time getting estimates we trusted from movers who couldn't walk through the house, with weight and volume estimates that varied widely. Finally, a friend recommended Allied from his recent move - and we couldn't have been happier with the company and their LA partner, Blue Chip. The estimator (Duane) worked hard to review our own detailed inventory, price it fairly, and help us schedule the specific pick and delivery windows we needed. The coordinator (Daniela) kept us informed on the details as we got closer, explaining and handling the payments with ease, and ensuring we connected directly with our driver, Fernando. Fernando made it clear from the start he was going to take care of our stuff and make this process easy for us. He and his team arrived on time, and quickly got to work organizing, protecting and loading our stuff into the shuttle and then the full-length truck - everyone on the team was truly a pro. We were amazed at how fast they were able to get it all done! Fernando explained all the paperwork carefully, and reviewed his plan for the cross-country trip and delivery schedule, so knew exactly what to expect. He then checked in with us periodically over the 10 days between load and delivery so we knew everything was on track and our stuff was in good hands. On delivery day, Fernando and team were on time, with everything preloaded onto the shuttle to load into our local storage in Philly in one trip. He helped me keep track of every item number as it came off the truck to make sure we checked it off correctly. If we ever had a question, he knew exactly where something had been placed or was still waiting on the truck - caring for it like it was all his own stuff. His local Philly delivery team was just as professional and helpful as the LA load-in team, making sure all of our stuff was delivered just as it had been received. Y'all I'm just gonna keep it real with what to expect from these moving companies. My job moved me across country and paid for everything . When seeking a moving company, I just want to say that money was NO ISSUE. I immediately made it clear that I would pay more for good service (within reason ofc). I was moving a 400sq ft apt and my car. Interaction with Duane was great and he was responsive throughout the whole process. I'm guessing they find guys like Duane to be the "finders" and to make customers feel at ease, which he did. The service was a good price compared to some other companies I looked at but it was Duane who won me over. Pickup went ok except that I was under the impression that the movers were VERY exhausted. As stated, my place is small but in the end they were asking me if I "really wanted the stuff from my bathroom" uuummm Yes!! I felt bad even saying so bc these guys were beat. They got the job done. I was upset that the company had no option for me to tip on paper so my job could reimburse me. I had to use $60 of my own cash bc there was no way I wasnt going to tip these guys. Just a sign to me that this big company doesn't care for their workers as they didn't consider this. The move was from Los Angeles to Atlanta so of course I expected it to take a couple weeks and Duane warned me that it would be up to 20 days. The move took a month. It wasn't a huge deal for me bc I had bought a couple things to stay comfortable, but the delivery man told me when he arrived that he could have gotten the pickup days earlier but the company had decided to place my things 30 miles away in Oxnard and not keep them in LA where he was located. So maybe bad communication there. When my stuff arrived, I was waiting outside the truck and they lifted the door to reveal my stuff literally had made an 8ft wall along the back of the trailer against the door. Immediately a box from the top of this wall tumbled to the ground and I heard things smash. It became apparent to me that the moving company had at some point dismantled EVERYTHING to try and make it fit. This included things I would not have had dismantled, like a vintage record stand I inherited and a water crock stand. Both of these items were broken in the move. When the stuff arrived, another man also showed up to reassemble my things. This ended up being another situation where he was ready to go before the job was done and I had to ask for him to reassemble a bathroom shelf they had taken apart. I asked about the broken items and they said it would be noted. It was at this point the truck driver told me that i had to save the sticker/barcode from each item to make a claim. This was the only verbal information I received during the whole process of how to make a claim. Maybe it was in the fine print of my receipt but it was not clearly explained. As the unpacking process continued I noticed that several things were missing ! 2 large shelves, a decorative statue and a whole 2ft/2ft canvas painting ! So how do I make a claim on things that never even arrived ? I will soon find out as I just turned in the claim form and there were no instructions for such. Overall, I'm annoyed but the whole process and don't have high hopes for much of a refund even tho I was promised "full value protection" It's my theory that these big names literally outsource EVERYTHING to small companies, probably at the lowest cost, while they rake in the cash. I doubt Duane even gets paid by Allied Van Lines. I don't really know who this Blue Chip company is but that's who they sent me to review . In short BEWARE! Blue Chip Moving was hired through my companies relocation services and they were phenomenal! We were told they would arrive between 8 and 10am and they came around 8:07am. We had a full pack and move about 40 miles apart from a 2 bed 2 bath apt to another, so expected it to be an all day affair but they were fast, efficient, communicative and easy to work with. The team divided and conquered our home and I felt extremely comfortable with their packing style and ability to delicately move our belongings. They asked us questions as they came but otherwise we stayed out of their way and let them work. They put paper down on the main walkways to protect the carpet, and once everything was boxed they moved it out for the large moving truck. They took a break in the middle (well deserved!) and communicated with us so we knew what was going on and the status of everything. On the receiving end of the move they were again extremely efficient, reassembled our beds, and moved our big items in with ease. They had labeled all the boxes and put them in their respective rooms, and asked us about any questions we had. In resetting up the large pieces they asked us exactly where we wanted them so we wouldn't have to move the bed later or the couch which was extremely appreciated! At the end of the move we signed the paperwork and they were done and out by 3:00pm. Such an easy and seamless process! read more

We moved from Arcadia, CA to San Jose, CA for a new job in December 2021. We have two senior parents in their 90s so we must be extra careful. We researched and reached out to dozens of national and local movers for many months, before we settled with Blue Chip Moving and Storage, agents of Mayflower. Moving is one of the biggest stressors coupling with a new job and senior parents, you can imagine what we went through. Other local movers gave us outrageous quotes, and most of national movers only move people out of state, out of CA and have no drivers left to do intra state moves during this pandemic Covid-19. We were very skeptical of local, no name movers as we afraid of their unethical business dealings, lack of experience, bad reputation, and they can damage the houses, the house we move out and the house we move in, and our personal properties. Too many horrible stories that got us so worried. We didn't know much about Blue Chip Moving and Storage but we trusted Mayflower and its reputation. The move was easy and smooth as expected. The price was reasonable with no hidden fees, just as quoted. The crew were respectful, responsible, and caring for us, our senior parents, our belongings, and the houses. They showed up early and did a wonderful job. They used protective carpets to protect the floor and the stairs. They packed furniture well with blankets and tapes. They disassembled and reassemble furniture and beds, and put them in the places we wanted. No missing boxes, no damages to both houses (old and new), and personal properties, although they put some boxes in wrong rooms with the boxes and the rooms labeled respectively, but that was expected for a big move and a big 5 bedroom house, minor things compared to the overall excellent job. Bradley Taggart, Laney O'Toole, and the driver Keith were very professional, polite, and nice. Bradley came to estimate and gave great advise on how to pack to save money on the packing. Brad was quick to reply our texts and emails and a great communicator. We felt much better after his visit. He was really helpful and took away our worries. Laney was very polite, she coordinated the move and let us know when the driver and crew will come to load and unload. She was very helpful. I truly felt like you guided me through the entire process, helped me realize everything would be okay, and grounded me, held my hand in the proverbial sense to end that chapter of my life. I have wings, not roots. I've moved a few times, so you'd think I'd be better at it. Even my suitcases are overweight when I travel. I'm bad at packing. I've moved several times back and forth between Chicago and the West Coast, San Juan, PR to San Diego, and Chicago to Rome. They stacked my boxes in the basement in rows, about three high. Obviously, I've unpacked my clothes and toiletries, but not all of my kitchen items are unpacked. So, if I need something, I can go downstairs and "shop" for items I need. It's fantastic. And they are just such kind, beautiful people who also took such great care; it was the icing on the cake. read more

Recently completed a cross-country move with Mayflower (through Blue Chip), from Los Angeles to the east coast. Wish I could be giving a positive review, as the coordinator and movers I interacted with directly during the process were quite nice, but a very unsatisfactory ending caused the company to lose all my esteem. When the coordinator came to assess the size of my shipment for a quote, one of his selling points to me was an assurance that each box and item would be tagged by the movers with a scannable inventory bar code so that everything could be tracked as it was loaded and unloaded. And it was, for the loading portion of my move. Unfortunately, this vaunted box inventory code scanning system completely failed at the destination end, as the mover somehow managed to lose one of my boxes (containing about $2000 worth of possessions) in transit, and I didn't catch it at the time of delivery due to the number of boxes I had. Maybe they unloaded it with another customer's shipment earlier on the route, maybe it fell out of the truck, maybe someone stole it. Who knows. Now, I could (and should) have done my own tedious, hours-long full inventory # cross-check after everything was unloaded, but partly out of consideration for the movers who'd already spent hours unloading late into the day and were clearly ready to move on, and mostly because I thought everything was being scanned as it came off the truck and any absence would have been caught at the end, I passed on doing so. After all, every box and item had a bar code on it. It should have been simple to track them all. So what the hell happened? Be aware: apparently, when they load your stuff onto a large truck full of other people's stuff, they keep track of what belongs to whom by eyeballing it. Here's the thing: if they lose one of your boxes during a move, and you don't catch it at the time of delivery, you're screwed. What happens when you report a missing box to them after the fact is you'll be offered a quick claim settlement OR the opportunity to have them do a "trace" and try to recover your box. It's one or the other. If you're running a scam, that's great. You just made some free money. If, like me, you're an honest customer far more interested in any chance of recovering your stuff than in compensation, and thus request the trace, and that trace (whatever that is) turns up empty, the settlement offer is rescinded and you get absolutely nothing. You have no way to prove that anything of yours was lost and you're not just making up a story, and they'll deny your claim outright. They didn't follow through with their inventory scanning procedure? Too bad, you should have checked everything yourself. A heartbreaking and expensive lesson to learn, as my move wound up costing me a whopping $2k more than it was supposed to, and worse: the loss of some irreplaceable possessions. The ugly cost of putting too much trust in a company's negligent system and service. If I move again, I'll be sure to do my own full inventory check at the end. But I certainly won't be doing it with Mayflower, and if you care about having all your stuff survive your move in one piece, I advise you don't either. read more

My move with Blue Chip Moving and Storage was great! I initially spoke with my agent over the phone. He came out for a home visit to assess what needed to be moved and to give me a price estimate. He was friendly and knowledgeable! Of the three estimates that I got, Blue Chip was in the middle. The estimate was reasonable for a West to East Coast cross-country move of a one bedroom apartment and a car. My move coordinator contacted me a few days prior to my move date to let me know what time the movers would show up on move day and if I had any questions that I could contact her. On move day, three movers/packers showed up on time and were efficient, fast and careful. It took them about four hours to pack up and load my one bedroom apartment. One day prior to my delivery date, my driver contacted me with a more specific delivery date and time. He and an assistant showed up on time and unloaded my stuff in about two hours. They were friendly, fast and patient. They placed items in the appropriate room and moved one item a second time upon my request.
