I had a great experience with Urban Moving Services today, from my initial inquiry on Yelp all the way through the move today itself. Their communication and their responses are EXTREMELY quick. One thing that really stood out to me was how customer-friendly their booking process was. They didn't require a deposit, didn't ask for a credit card to hold my reservation, don't have a cancellation fee, they also don't have a mileage charge, and allowed me to cancel anytime before my scheduled moving date if needed. That level of flexibility was honestly amazing! I booked two movers, Tom and Mario, and they were both fantastic. Before booking, I found another company with a lower price, but Urban Moving Services was kind enough to price match it, which made it an easy decision because I really wanted to work with them because of their tons of reviews. I did end up paying a little more than the quoted price since I chose to pay by credit card (there's a 5% processing fee), and I happily gave Tom and Mario a cash tip because they absolutely deserved it. My only minor feedback is that I had called the day before to confirm a 9:30 AM Monday arrival as I had other appointments in the afternoon, but I received a text that morning letting me know the team would instead arrive around 10:15-10:20 AM. While the change in timing wasn't ideal, the movers were efficient, professional, and made the rest of the experience so smooth that it ended up being a very minor issue overall. What really stood out to me was how efficient they were. The entire move only took about 2 hours because I had most of my belongings wrapped and ready to go, but they worked incredibly fast from start to finish. I needed a moving service in a fairly short time. Urban Moving Services responded quickly and efficiently. They quoted me very competitive prices and the registration and reservation process was quite simple and fast without having to provide any credit card information. I got 2 movers and a truck. Alex and Nick showed up at the scheduled time. I initially estimated their minimum 3 hours since I had already moved a lot of small things out. They only had a big table to dissemble and reassemble and a few electronic items to move to a new office space. I also had a few furniture pieces that were going to Goodwill as donations. It turned out Goodwill doesn't accept beds and mattresses since COVID. So we ended up going to a few other places including Salvation Army that also refused them for the same reasons. We were on the road longer than expected with the items that aren't wanted by anyone. I ended up leaving the unwanted items in their truck for disposal as bulky items in their own town. Unfortunately they had to charge me to do that. Anyway, the job did manage to finish in about 4 hours, but I had to pay a lot more than I budgeted it for. Alex and Nick did a great job though. Unless unexpected things come up such as the situation above, and the moving went smoothly as planned, I'd have been a much happier customer. All in all, I'd recommend these guys to anyone who's looking to hire movers in LA area. read more

Eric was timely with the responses. I believe he contracted with some movers who typically move with another company, but in any case, they were great. Ty, George & Marco were the three movers who arrived to my house early (and called a few times to let me know they would be early), and they moved swiftly, with very little chatter, which is an issue I've had with movers in the past - in, started moving and wrapping the big furniture, asked questions about what they needed to know, and then off we went. They handled very large bookshelves, which were super heavy and cumbersome, and somehow managed to maneuver up some stairs, which I didn't think would be possible at first - they did all that with patience and with professionalism. I was embarrassed about how many books I had and my large items, a lot of which needed to go up stairs, but they never made me feel bad or that they were not any less than delighted to help. They moved very quickly in and out, and felt like there wasn't a minute wasted. This did end up taking slightly longer than expected but they prorated exactly the length of time extra they were there. I gave them big tips and bought them lunch because I was so please with the service and professionalism. I would use this company again and would ask for these 3 specifically in a heartbeat. He was upfront with prices from the beginning and break down everything to each cost. No hidden fees and reasonable pricing! Next, I can't thank Djan and Ivan enough for doing a phenomenal job with the move! First off, they texted in advance, were punctual, went over moving plan initially and reviewed costs. They were so careful with all the furniture and items while strategizing the perfect way to get everything done efficiently! Super friendly while still getting work done! They were even courteous and respectful about taking their shoes off indoors because we had new floors done recently at the moving location. No complaints and trucked through everything even a flight of stairs at both locations! Finished everything in just a few hours! Thank you, thank you for sending me such great people to work with. FAST, EFFICIENT, AFFORDABLE, FRIENDLY!! I highly recommend Urban Moving Services! We moved about 1 month ago and I'm still talking about how great, easy and smooth our move was. I was very anxious and nervous because I had never done a big move to another city. Eric was so helpful when I booked and answered all my questions along the way. I wven sent photos of our items with questions on the best way to pack them. Their price for 3 movers was very reasonable and they showed up on time! They assessed quickly and started loading the truck right away. I was AMAZED at how fast and efficiently they got everything loaded in the truck, and we had A LOT of stuff for a small 2 bedroom house. With 3 guys they were done in under 2 hours! Again, I was amazed and kept telling them how incredible they were. And on top of it, they were all SO nice and friendly. They had a 100 mile drive to our new place and unpacked in record time. Because they were done so quickly our final bill was about half of what we expected and budgeted for. Gary, Abu, and Darham did an excellent job and I was more than happy to tip them well. Overall, I had a great experience with Urban Moving Company. The four movers who helped with my move were hardworking, professional, and respectful throughout the entire process. They handled some very heavy furniture with care, worked efficiently, and paid close attention to detail. The pricing was also very fair, and I felt I received great value for the service. The only reason I'm not giving a perfect review is because of one small but frustrating issue. I have a king-size adjustable bed, and after reassembling it, the power cord for the adjustable base wasn't plugged back in. Since the mattress and base are extremely heavy, I had to lift everything myself just to connect the cord. I would have expected them to double-check that everything was fully connected and functioning the same way it was before the move. Aside from that, everything else went very smoothly. The crew worked hard, stayed positive, and did an excellent job overall. I'm thankful for their help and would still recommend Urban Moving Company to anyone looking for a reliable and reasonably priced moving service. One last thing, I know the double drive time is the law but I was basically suggested to pay 20% as a tip when driving time itself cost around $400. read more
