I wasn't going to write a review and I surely wasn't going to give 5 stars like I did, but I wanted…read morefolks to understand why this place is important. My wife and I are traveling from Idaho. I'm always interested in local beers and checked out, From Huron Out, online. I saw that there were very mixed reviews and most were old. The most current appeared to be from a local resident who was wondering why any local would even go there. I then started reading the story behind the brewery, the brewer himself, and the backstory of the current owners. I wanted to give it a try. Only one car in the lot upon our arrival. Entering the restaurant we found it to be pleasantly unique. The staff was friendly and we sat in a booth in the bar area. The beer I was interested in trying was not available. I was told there were equipment issues that needed resolved so there were only 2 of their own beers available (I tried both during our meal). I read that the Rueben was good with the meat being "corned" then smoked. Upon ordering I was informed that they were out of Swiss cheese and was offered Provolone. The restaurant being out of a lot of items was one of the biggest complaints from multiple guests. I still ordered the Rueben and was not disappointed. It was an excellent sandwich even with a substitute cheese. Please realize that restaurant business is a tough one, and I can't imagine adding a brewery on top of it. This brewery has been around for a very long time with awards for some of their beers. It would be a shame if it doesn't get enough local support to survive. We were just 2 people traveling through which is never enough to support any business. If the revenue isn't coming in, then of course some of the menu may not be available. Brewery equipment is expensive and again, takes money flow to keep it up. Locals, please don't let this brewery/restaurant fail. Make a point to support the owners and grow the business. I would love to see a successful business the next time my wife and I are traveling through. Bob McDonnell

First time at this restaurant where I ended up getting the Smashed burger with fries and their…read moreHouse Margarita. The smash burger was well made, tasty and comprised of two patties that equated to a 1/2 lb burger I believe? It came with sliced onions and good amount of sliced pickles where these little green gems add so much to the burger in both crunchy texture and taste. The fries were equally well made and crunchy and a nice complement to the burger. Overall a solid good tasing meal at a very reasonable cost versus the down state pricing I am use too. Relative to the Margarita, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the drink as it was being sold as a well drink that lowered my expectations a bit. It was quite good and served in a nicely salted mason jar which I love and at the very reasonable price of $7! That's a deal in my book all day long! The bar/restaurant itself has a dark inviting vibe too it where it defiantly feels more bar than restaurant which I always enjoy when I am on the lookout for a good bar burger. Staff was very friendly with prompt service and great follow up throughout the meal. I noted the comments on slower service on other reviews which may have been during the peak summer hours but in my visit here I saw none of that on a Monday eying at 5pm during Mid May timeframe. Overall if you are a fan of bars and bar food than this business will probably be right up your alley. Of note if you like Margarita's you should defiantly order one, or two or..... while here as the price is hard to beat especially at this quality !

Bigby coffee is a well known chain where this business is in line with other stores I have seen…read more Its a step up from the fast food and gas station options in the area but falls a tad short of the small privately owned coffee centric businesses in the area in my opinion in both quality and flavor of the beans. The issue with the small boutique coffee centric businesses in this area is they are not open every day with much shorter hours than Bigby which is a huge plus for Bigby's. Something I greatly appreciate and a nice convenience for the greater Oscoda area. You can always count on these guys to be open to get your hot cup of Joe daily. Nice! As far as what they offer, they have all the coffee drinks you would expect from a Barista operation with some food options to boot. They also open quite early (I believe around 5am) where the breakfast food offerings makes them a standout for this area for the early risers. Relative to staff and facility, the staff was quite friendly and had quick service where the inside dining area is quite clean with plenty of dining tables, two computer work station areas and some cushioned furniture seating area for a more comfortable experience. Overall, quite nice and a big plus for this business. If you are looking for good coffee in the area with reliable hours where depending on the day and time you can either go here or go to McDonalds/Burger King. Tough choice right (:
