It is never too late to offer praise for Dr. Daniel Min and his amazing team including Jenny, my dental hygienist, other hygienists, technicians, and administrative staff. The quality of care that I have received and been receiving is simply outstanding. I am not exaggerating when I say that. I have a very high standard in providing positive feedback being in the healthcare profession myself. The high level of competency matched with excellent bedside manners and therapeutic alliance is unrivaled as evidenced by the ease of establishing appointments including urgent ones, close monitoring and follow up, accessibility and availability, resources, among others. There are a lot more superlatives to say however I encourage readers and prospective patients to check them out for yourselves. Congratulations Dr. Min, Jenny, and all the staff at Blue Dental. Amazing office, probably the best dental experience I had in my life! Everyone was extremely nice and knowledgeable. I called and was able to do a same day appointment and got cleaning and some minor dental work done. I've gone to this practice three times for cleanings. In terms of the cleanings themselves, they were fine, but the dentist (Dr. Han) always seemed to be in a rush and would only pop in for maybe a minute at the end; most of your time is spent with the hygienist. On the third visit, they took a full series of X-rays and then proceeded to lose them completely in their system. They said that they would follow up with the vendor and recover them, but I followed up months later to find out that they were not able to recover the X-rays. I get that glitches happen, but I would've appreciated more proactive communication about this after my appointment. To add insult to injury, when I was booking my follow-up appointment, they declined to tell me until I probed that I would be seeing a different dentist (as Dr. Han was on leave), and that dentist was not in-network with my insurance. Even though my insurance technically covers 100% for most preventative services even when the dentist is out-of-network, this felt very sneaky to me and created the possibility of me paying more for treatment than with an in-network dentist. At that point, I decided to look for another dentist. read more

I was referred by a friend, and I'm so glad I went! The front office staff was incredibly welcoming. Dr. Min made the whole experience really comfortable - super attentive and easy to talk to. Had an absolutely fantastic experience here today! Had to come in for an emergency tightening of my temporary crown for my front tooth and was really panicked about finding someone great since I am from Hawaii and just visiting NYC. I got a next morning appointment with Dr Min. He was outstanding. He explained everything about my implant, tightened it right up, and got me out the door in less than 30 minutes. He also offered a free retightening if necessary while I'm in town. Truly outstanding service! So glad I came in here. read more

Highly recommend Dr. Dalessandro's clinic. Very professional and top notch service. I also had the chance to see the prosthodontist, Dr Daniel Min, who I also highly recommend. I had to have 6 crowns on my front teeth and Dr Min did an absolutely outstanding job. I've had the new crowns for several weeks and have had no problems -- they look good and my bite feels perfectly natural. The staff supporting these two are also very good at what they do. Doctors Dallesssandro and Mim are excellent dentists, with Mim being a skilled dental surgeon. They quickly diagnosed a severely decayed wisdom tooth as the cause of my Jaw and neck pain. Though busy with other patients, Dr. Mim found the time to extract said tooth that same session knowing I was in pain and going out of town in several days. They both followed up and called me to see how I was doing after the surgery and provided medication to see me through a couple of tough days post op. Two weeks after surgery went in for post op exam and almost totally healed up with no complications. Their pricing is modest and in line with such procedures on the UES. The office staff is very professional but treats you in a relaxed, personal way , much as the dentists do during exam and procedures. Finally, if you like a small modern and clean office where you don't feel like you are on a mass conveyor belt this is is the right place for your dental needs. read more

Well this is different- I'm writing this on behalf of a dental group! Hope nobody takes this personally, but I hate going to the dentist. I dread it, always have. My distaste for my biannual visits do not reflect on the actual staff and practitioners though, who are fabulous. Teeth cleanings have been gentle (and they put Vaseline in your lips so they don't crack!), and office referrals for an orthodontist and oral surgeon were also top notch. I found Dr Dallessandro's practice on Yelp about 4 years ago and have been going to them since. Dr Dallessandro himself is fantastic, as well as Dr Choi - a newer addition. I have seen them both and have nothing but good things to say. I wasn't blessed with teeth of steel, and it seems like there's an issue every time. However, I know that I'm always well taken care of at the office. I have phoned in for emergency appointments, which were always accommodated in a timely manner, and they have even worked with me with regards to fees when I didn't have dental insurance. Their new system also allows online booking and text message appointment confirmation - super convenient. Office location is just minutes from the train (Q on the Upper East Side) , and close to CVS, Duane trade, Matter of Health, and other stores for convenience. Shoutout to Dr Choi who went above and beyond to see me on a Saturday morning to fix a broken crown when she was supposed to have the weekends off. A++! read more

"A dentist that you do not have to be afraid of" This is a great dentist office, most of my coworkers and I get their dental work done here. The staff is friendly and, most importantly, competent. Since this is a popular dentist it may take about 3 weeks to get an appointment. But, you can get penciled in if you have important work that needs to be done. This is a fairly small practice; now Dr. D has another part-time dentist. So there are two dentists on site. You can tell that Dr. D really cares about his patients and goes out of his way to take care of them. He really talks to the patients about affordable care, rather than the most expensive treatment plan. Very HIGHLY recommended. read more

I've been here twice. The first time was absolutely terrible. The hygienist didn't give me any water during the whole cleaning so my mouth completely dried out. I shared that feedback with the office and for the second visit I saw a different hygienist and the cleaning was great. No complaints. I scheduled my third appointment 6 months in advance, but was just told that the doctor isn't coming in that day. They only have one remaining Saturday appointment until the end of summer and it's very early, so I'm out of luck. So much for booking in advance. read more

Dallessandro has been my dentist for over 15 years. He is amazing. (A) he's great at his job, but also (B) he is kind. I'm a big fat baby when it comes to the dentist, but he is so nice, so friendly, so soothing, that I almost don't hate going. Min, his dental hygienist, the toothinator, is a tiny terror, in a good way. She's the only hygienist I've ever been to that Vaseline's your lips, which may not sound like much, but makes a big difference. I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

A few months back I was in urgent need of a dentist and was lucky to come across Dr. Dallessandro's name in Yelp. I lived in NYC only for a few months and did not bother to research a dentist due to the brevity of my stay. Unfortunately, I started having terrible tooth aches just days before I was supposed to move back to the West Coast. Fortunately, I came across Dr. Dallessandro's name in Yelp and went to him to receive urgent care. Dr. Dallessandro had a very calming demeanor and did a great job of explaining his observations as well as his recommended procedures. He quickly diagnosed that I had a cracked tooth and put me in contact with a specialist who was able to accommodate the urgency of may situation and perform the necessary root canal. However, before I was able to have the root canal, I had to make another urgent visit to Dr. Dallessandro because the pain was unbearable. When I called for the appointment, it was almost closing time. Dr. Dallessandro was stayed after his normal office hours waiting for me to arrive and then quickly sanded down the impacted tooth in an attempt to alleviate the pain. What a relief!! I didn't know people still cared enough to stay after hours. Dr. Dallessandro's staff was very professional and attentive to my needs. My experience with everyone at this practice was easily my best dentist experience ever. read more

I'm always a little wary of anyone who has so many 5 star reviews but Dr. Dallessandro and his office deserve it. I'd been uninsured for awhile and expecting my first trip back to the dentist was going to suck. It was easy to get an appointment, the receptionist was very friendly and pleasant. My appointment started on time, and the hygienist was very personable and had a very light touch while giving a thorough and much needed cleaning. Bonus points for being non-judgemental of my lack of cleanings/lack of insurance for the past couple of year. Dr. Dallessandro is very nice and has a wonderful personality. I had a cavity so I had to go back again today. Again, my appointment started on time, Dr. Dallessandro gave the least painful shots I've ever had and I was in and out. The entrance office is a bit tucked away and easy to miss if you are coming from 1st. If you are looking at the building straight on, it's to the left of the main entrance with the awning. I was in desperate need of a new dentist and thanks to Yelp; I discovered Dr. Dallessandro. I never thought I would say that going to the dentist would actually be pleasurable, but it was. The staff was really nice and helpful. Dr. Dallessandro is extremely personable and has wonderful "chair side" manners. He was extremely patient and attentive. Clare, the hygentist, was such a pleasure to chat with, i forgot that i was sitting there possibly about to get bad news that I would need my first root canal. On that note, I liked the fact that Dr. Dallessandro wasnt so quick to just diagnosis me with a root canal. Not like most dentists, who, i think, many are so quick to proceed where the $ signs show. Great dentist and office. They really work with your schedule to make appointments (I always make a 5pm appointment, and there is never a wait!), and they'll take you earlier if you show up. The dental hygienist, Min, is hardcore (I'll be honest, it's kind of painful), but my mouth feels so clean afterwards, and she's really sweet and professional. Robin the hygienist was so kind and made me feel at ease. She was thoughtful and took into consideration the fact that my insurance was expiring soon. She worked with me to make sure I had an appointment before my insurance was done. Dr. Choi was also very kind. She placed multiple fillings while being gentle but efficient. The receptionists made sure before and after the appointment that I understood the billing process and agreed with the cost. Great experience all around. After two years of neglecting my teeth I finally decided it was time. Made an appointment and showed up about five minutes late. The staff was really cool about everything. I got cleaned up by Min (Sorry if I'm not spelling your name right Min!) She's a riot. Really funny and very good at what she does. She told me she's been a dental hygienist for 12 years. I won't lie, she means business. I found Dr. Dallesandro through Yelp and feel like I should pay it forward. After blowing through many dentists, I found Dr. D and have been a patient of his for at least 5 years, maybe more. I found him to be very honest and tells it like it is. I trust that he doesn't tell me to do any unnecessary procedures. I had a lot of dental issues when I first started using him and he would tell me whether or not a problem was urgent or we can just give it time to see if it is a problem. He is professional and personable. All the hygienists I've used are great. For a long time, he was out of network for me but I used him anyway as it's hard to find a dentist you can trust. Review from a dentist's daughter: In my dozen or so years since defecting from LA (where my father still practices; geographically undesirable for bi-yearly cleanings) I have been through almost as many dentists... Some wouldn't accept my insurance or verify in advance, others tried to force me into a ridiculous unnecessary cosmetic procedure (ahem, father/dentist=honest/mechanic), and others I didn't like due to a variety of reasons including terrible cleanings. Dr. Dallessandro and his staff are WONDERFUL. I had Min as my hygienist and she delivered one of the best cleanings I have ever had. She really gets in there without drawing blood and causing pain- feels like she scratches the itch that you cannot reach yourself. If I could give this place 100 stars, I would. Min, the hygienist, is the best hygienist I have ever had. Hands down. No one has put vaseline on my lips (to prevent cracking) before. I told her that I have very sensitive gums and bleed a lot and she offered me numbing gel. I didn't even know that was an option! No one ever offered that to me. All these years I have been dreading the dentist. I waited 1.5 years to get a cleaning b/c of the pain. Seriously pain was from a 10 normally to 3 with the gel. She is gentle, sweet, thorough as hell... everything you would want. The Dr was also great, professional, on time, and honest. I would recommend the office to anyone and everyone. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!! I couldn't even make an appointment because the front desk staff has no idea how to figure out insurance benefits. Try hiring someone who has a brain in their head to work a simple job like answering phones and checking insurance. I had to call my insurance company figure out the dental benefits and the lady at the front desk still didnt believe me when I told her that my dental ID number was the same as my member ID number! Still am in disbelief that an office as good as people claim has an idiot working their front desk!! read more
