Last July, we hired Refresh Pool to resurface our swimming pool. The finish was covered by a 7-…read moreyear warranty and was also treated with the Microglass Plaster Densification Systems, which was represented as extending the life of the surface to approximately 10-15 years. Less than one year after the work was completed, significant discoloration appeared on the pool steps. Given the short age of the re-surfacing, we contacted the company and requested that the issue be addressed under warranty. The company informed us that they believed the discoloration was caused by pool chemistry and therefore declined responsibility for the problem. The company also suggested that a chlorine floater had remained on the pool steps for an extended period of time and caused the discoloration. However our floater is too long to hover over the step. Because we questioned that explanation, we sought additional opinions. We consulted staff at Leslie's Pool Supply. They advised us that, based on the information we provided, normal pool chemicals would not typically be expected to cause this type of discoloration. We also observed our pool service technician perform water testing, and the results were reported to be within normal ranges. While we understand that opinions may differ, we were disappointed that the company dismissed the warranty claim and attributed the issue to pool chemistry despite the information we obtained from other sources. We hired this company because of its reputation, warranty, and promises regarding the durability of the finish. Unfortunately, our experience with the warranty process has been very disappointing. We paid them over $24000- in this pool resurface project, including the upgraded finish and additional treatment that was represented as extending the life of the surface. Given the size of the investment, we were very disappointed to see significant discoloration appear in less than one year. This review reflects our personal experience.

I first found Leonard on Instagram when he had just started posting. I followed his work for nearly a year before finally reaching out because our pool slide and rock formation--after 20 years--desperately needed to be redone. It was long overdue. And here's the incredible part... Leonard ended up hiring the very same person who originally built our rock formation two decades ago. How amazing is that? Talk about full circle and true craftsmanship. From the very beginning, Leonard's communication was outstanding. He was upfront about costs, clear about the process, and incredibly responsive through text every step of the way. No guessing. No wondering. Just honest, professional, consistent communication. Their workmamship was very good and they started and completed the project on time; which is impressive in this town. Why not five stars? Communication. We had to reselect tile because our original choice was not reserved. More disappointing was the debacle over a color LED light installation. We pushed back on the price quoted and we were advised by our salesman that he would try to come back with a better rate, that we had time. We addressed it again at the time of the pool refill and were told that the light was on backorder, to expect a four week wait (backorder). Five weeks later, no light. We were told that it still wasn't available and that they wouldn't install one readily available from a pool supply store. I was even warned about our warranty if someone were to drain the pool. I thought that wasn't necessary? So we are stuck and will have to install it next season. We really wanted the final look this year! Micromanage your tile and make sure that everything that you want is in writing as they will live up to that.
