We had some technical issues with our pool. Debris from adjacent construction sites blocked our pool drainage pipe. Called around to find somebody to unclog the system and luckily came across TPS. They asked to call back when the pool has been emptied out of water. Knowing that the pool can't sit empty for too long it was comforting to know they are reliable and answer their messages quickly and willing to accommodate our tight schedule. Rescheduled on me at the last minute, then didn't show up for the reschedule. Al told me he would confirm the exact time prior to coming for the rescheduled appointment, and I told him I would provide my address and gate code when he confirmed the time slot. However, he never confirmed the time slot, and when I followed up, he cancelled and tried to blame it on me. My pool's green algae problem was at its worst as the pool was neglected pretty much during 2022's hottest summer months while I was away and out of the country. I found True Pool Service after few weeks of searching and vetting for a dependable company. Their price quote was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive amongst the companies I reached out to but true to their company name, True Pool Service delivered a total true and outstanding pool service! A local and small family owned/operated business, they DO take their job seriously and take pride in it and their high Yelp ratings and good reviews attest to that! I corresponded with the business owner and the main pool guy, Alvaro, who in person is soft spoken, courteous, professional and trustworthy As the norm, washing a pool is a 3 day process from draining on the first day, to washing to water refill on the second day to chemically treating and balancing the water on the third. The algae infestation in my pool was so bad he had to chlorine wash the pool first, then he acid washed it then gave it another chlorine wash just to totally get rid of them. Alvaro was prompt and punctual and very good in communicating (via text) when he was unable to come on the third day to balance the water but made up for it by showing up and coming the following day to finish the job. He singlehandedly turned my pool back into its old best shape. I personally maintain my own pool, including draining and refilling it annually but I turn to professionals when it comes to acid/chlorine washings so I told Alvaro I would be utilizing their company's services every 3 years. Only thing I can say is he came out on time. He told me it would be 1,000 to get a drive for my Leslie brand pool pump. He said the better thing to do is to buy a new 2,200 pump. I said I couldn't really afford that but if he would give me all the options via text I would let him know what I wanted to do. Never heard from him again. I would never do business with someone who doesn't follow through. Waste of my time and my time costs money since I had to take off work! Look elsewhere. As to company response: Bottom Line... man said he would text and never did. It is worth noting that the part WAS available. Even more noteworthy... IT WAS FREE to fix and install as it was a Leslie's Pump and Leslie's install so it automatically had a 5 year extended warranty. Very shady not to tell me that (man knew it was a Leslie's Pump and knew it was only 3 years old because I told him). As someone else has said, don't let the number of reviews sway you from these guys....they are AMAZING. I think we might have one of the largest wet-deck installs in all of Vegas and don't regret one movement of it. We had a typical mid-90's pool -- the plaster was in really rough shape (chipping and lots of rust stains), it was so deep that even when it's 110+ outside the pool was always 72 degrees. Yes we have a pool heater but it would literally take 8 hours to get the water to 80 or 82, and cost a small fortune in natural gas. We had a few different companies come and bid for a solution to the problem at hand -- it's too cold to enjoy and what solutions could make it warmer without just running a heater all the time? WET/SUN DECK is the answer folks! They basically took the deepest half of our 6 1/2' deep pool and turned it into a deck -- there's still A LOT of deep water to still swim. And the best part....it basically is sitting at 80 to 82 without heating right now -- crazy. Anyway, more about True Pool -- family owned and operated, great people who are passionate about what they do. Do what they say, do it on time, do it in a very budget conscious way and were 100% professionals. In addition to the wet deck and pool re-plaster/re-tile, we also had our actual decking (which was chipping horribly) re-surfaced as well. Hired these guys to do a drain/clean/refill on my pool after five years with the same water.
