Spartan Pools is a good choice because they have a contractor's license. We had our pool resurfaced, retiled as well as some concrete repairs. Their workmamship was very good and they started and completed the project on time; which is impressive in this town. Why not five stars? Communication. We had to reselect tile because our original choice was not reserved. More disappointing was the debacle over a color LED light installation. We pushed back on the price quoted and we were advised by our salesman that he would try to come back with a better rate, that we had time. We addressed it again at the time of the pool refill and were told that the light was on backorder, to expect a four week wait (backorder). Five weeks later, no light. We were told that it still wasn't available and that they wouldn't install one readily available from a pool supply store. I was even warned about our warranty if someone were to drain the pool. I thought that wasn't necessary? So we are stuck and will have to install it next season. We really wanted the final look this year! Carlos and his team are ok. I would say you get what you pay for. Quality is not the best. But you will get a product that works ok. If looks and quality are not your main concern then go for the lower price Spartan offers. If I could have my pool and tile redone again, I would pay the extra money to get a better quality finished product. Lowered my rating from two starts to one. From the initial quotations, through design, all through the inspections and to the finished product, Dale, Darryl, and the team have been wonderful. We decided to get our pool earlier this year, and spoke to 5 pool contractors. Spartan's price came in somewhere in the middle, and we appreciated that Dale was willing to work with us on the design without pushing us to add features we didn't want (and showed us what things we didn't need). He also threw in upgrades for free that other people were charging a ton for, because, as he said, "it will last longer and you won't be mad at me that way." The overall process took longer than expected because we did this during COVID AND during the crazy heatwave, so things like our specific tile choice took a while to get into stock, workdays had to be shortened, and inspection times were longer out to get, but in the end, we had exactly the pool we wanted at a price we're happy with. read more

Best pool company ever !! We have a huge pool. Dale was absolutely wonderful !! He went out of his way to make sure we were happy every step of the way. Our pool is about 20X36 the deep end was 9' , we had it raised to 4' so now we can walk the length of our pool. We also had all the deck around the pool replaced as well s new lights , pool 3 stage motor, automatic pool filler, basically they gutted our old pool and rebuilt it , new plaster, new tile, new everything. If you are thinking about using this company for a pool renovation, DON'T!!! we had them re-plaster our jacuzzi, fix a problem with the jacuzzi always draining when our pump was off, redo our cool deck, put in a pool auto fill, replace the slimmer, and redo our pool and jacuzzi tile. Everything we paid them to do they did wrong or incomplete, and they had to come back and redo. The skimmer they replace had concrete in the line. The auto fill was not hooked up. They only cool decked half the backyard. They came back 4 times to fix the draining problem. They plastered over jacuzzi drain and then covered it up. The repair that was done does not match the plaster we chose and when when contacted them the said it was as close as they could match it. Spartan Pools was the last of five pool companies we interviewed for our new pool. They were recommended by our landscaper who we have been using since 1999. We were about the abandon the pool project out of frustration dealing with high-pressure pool builders who never cared about what we wanted. Spartan Pools saved the day and we will soon have a great pool to enjoy for many years. Carlos is the owner of Spartan Pools and was the person we dealt with from start to finish. Our pool just finished completion and is fantastic. There are a lot of moving parts to pool construction and they were all handled well. Carlos is very honest, knowledgeable and never tried to sell us any unnecessary items. He is very low key but responsive to any questions and always made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The pool was partly constructed by subcontractors who were all very professional and efficient. There were no issues with any of the subcontractors and it was great to see how skilled they are at their craft. There are a lot of moving parts with swimming pool construction so the backyard and patio were pretty torn up for a while. We had a few minor delays but nothing out of the ordinary. The delays were mostly due to permitting or weather which is pretty typical. By the way, getting a pool permit in the City of North Las Vegas is a more painful process than a root canal without Novocain. Spartan Pools does not throw in a lot of the extra things other pool builders do but they are up front about it. They are totally finished with you after the pool is full with water and the site cleaned up unless there is warranty work do be done. Other companies included starting up the pool with chemicals and provided poles and basic supplies. It would be nice to have had some of the extras but we can easily purchase everything for less than $1,000. The other companies were all $10K to $16K higher and played games with the features of the pool and pricing. We cannot say enough good things about Carlos and Spartan Pools. They used very good equipment/supplies and did not cut any corners. Carlos answered our multiple questions and never gave us the runaround. I recommend adding Spartan Pools to your list of prospective pool companies to contact if getting a pool built or refurbished. read more

my pool was re-plastered, with supposedly a 2 year cxontract and they were the most expensive out of 3 quotes. the guy was rude, tells me i do not know what i am doing as far as chemical mixing. did it for 20 years in the service. and now i have to have another pool company come in an repair his bad work. he told me last year that my pool warranty would be up in january so he will repair it in january of this year just to cover himself. never got done. i tried to call him, my phone was blocked. i tried my wifes phone and received an answer. I ordered a pool railing from Dale the first week in February. After four months, numerous calls and incorrect items sent, the railing arrived. Dale installed it even though it came in damaged. After installation he told me that it came in "beat up" and scratched. He said he would send someone down to polish it which he did but it was still scratched and damaged. I asked him to contact the manufacturer but he refused saying he didn't want to have anything to do with it. Strange response since I purchased it from Spartan Pools. Reluctantly he gave me the name of the manufacturer whom I directly contacted. They were very gracious and told me that they would refund the cost of the railing to the wholesaler whom Dale purchased it from and that I should have Dale make contact snd have them forward refund to me. I told Dale this, giving him the refund tracking number, etc. Several days later I was notified by the manufacturer that the refund was sent to the wholesaler I asked Dale to follow up. The next day Dale called me and told me to stop harassing him and that he threatened me by screaming: I'm going to come down and rip the Goddam railing out of your pool deck if you don't stop harassing me!" I told him that I was requested by the manufacturer to notify him and which time he said I was lying about the refund and to stop calling him. I notified the manufacturer and they were kind enough to agree to send me the refund directly. What happened to the original refund? Perhaps Dale knows?? I do not! Dale's lack of customer follow up and support was horrendous! All I asked of him and his company was to facilitate this process. In response what I received to anger, threats, and subside language. From a legal point of view, he and his company was responsible since I contracted with him. I was willing to do what he was obliged to do and address the issue. All I wanted was his help it facilitating this process! It is my opinion that Dale needs to address his "anger management" issues and to reassess his customer service policies read more

They might be good but I will never know. I stopped in at their office talked to a person and told him I wanted a handrail installed for my pool steps. He told me it would be about $900 and he would stop by the following week to look it over and give me an exact price. I waited over two weeks and nobody showed up. I called the office and explained that I had been waiting over two weeks and gave her my information again. She said she would take care of it and send someone out. Nobody ever showed. I finally bought a handrail online from the same manufacturer that Spartan was going to sell me. I rented a core drill from Home Depot and did it myself for less than half total cost. I would not have had a problem with their $900 figure but I was certainly not happy with their customer service. read more

Spartan did our pool deck just over a couple years ago. We had to have them come back several times afterwards to repair multiple areas that bubbled and peeled. Spartan's last repair was just over a year ago and it is again bubbling and peeling. They refuse to come back to repair the defective areas since they only guarantee their work 2 years after it is initially done , not after each multiple repair that was needed due to their defective workmanship and product. After paying a significant amount of money , I am stuck with a horrible looking pool deck due to Spartan Pool's poor workmanship and products that they don't stand behind. I called and scheduled someone to give me a quote. I had to leave work to let the employee in to give me the quote. They never showed so I called the main office and they acted as though there was no appointment. I was told they were going to call someone to see who could make it out and that I would receive a call back. I never received a call. I called them the next morning and the phone kept going to voice mail. Very strange for a business. I would recommend looking elsewhere. For something as important and expensive as replastering a pool, I don't trust that they'll do good work if they can't even honor their word to return a phone call. read more

We discovered a leak in the suction line that the previous owner did NOT disclosure and Spartan came to the rescue. I have absolutely 0 complaints about Spartan pools. Our pool and deck look amazing. Dale and the employees all provided an exceptional service. The step by step process to re plaster our pool and strip our pool deck was about 6 weeks. They replaced broken or cracked concrete changed out our lights in the pool and jacuzzi re plastered our pool and jacuzzi replaces our deck drain resurfaced and textured our decking. They replaced all the tile line and it looks amazing. All I can say is that it was a job well done. But the service Dale provides is exceptional. We looked at other companies and the customer service we received from Dale was awesome. They went above and beyond. It was never a problem for me to call if I had questions and he was very patient and polite. Thank you Spartan pools it was a pleasure to do business with you. Had my pool completely replumbed, complete new electrical for lighting, plaster and tile. BIG JOB. Job was done well and timely. This was in May 2018. Called back following summer to have my pool decking done and never received a call back. After 5th call figured they were too busy. Year and a half later from completion (2018) of job turned on brand new pool lights that had been completely replaced and they didn't work. Had an electrician check to make sure I had power and I did, figured it must be the bulbs. Lights alone where $1,200 (that was for no frills lights) not to mention install. When I called they said warranty covered for one year only. WOW! REALLY! So, fast forward to 3/29/21 I'm having my pool drained and new bulbs installed at the same time. Well, it's not the bulbs!!! Carlos suggests have completely rewired and they're busy till July and of course it's not covered at all! Shoot, at least offer to split the cost! Anyway, I figured as much and already scheduled to have a different electrician first thing tomorrow morning 7am. I mean my pool is EMPTY this has to be done NOW. Not good customer service in my opinion. When I called the first time about my pool lights they made NO ATTEMPT to even offer to send someone to come and look.
