Last July, we hired Refresh Pool to resurface our swimming pool. The finish was covered by a 7- year warranty and was also treated with the Microglass Plaster Densification Systems, which was represented as extending the life of the surface to approximately 10-15 years. Less than one year after the work was completed, significant discoloration appeared on the pool steps. Given the short age of the re-surfacing, we contacted the company and requested that the issue be addressed under warranty. The company informed us that they believed the discoloration was caused by pool chemistry and therefore declined responsibility for the problem. The company also suggested that a chlorine floater had remained on the pool steps for an extended period of time and caused the discoloration. However our floater is too long to hover over the step. Because we questioned that explanation, we sought additional opinions. We consulted staff at Leslie's Pool Supply. They advised us that, based on the information we provided, normal pool chemicals would not typically be expected to cause this type of discoloration. We also observed our pool service technician perform water testing, and the results were reported to be within normal ranges. While we understand that opinions may differ, we were disappointed that the company dismissed the warranty claim and attributed the issue to pool chemistry despite the information we obtained from other sources. We hired this company because of its reputation, warranty, and promises regarding the durability of the finish. Unfortunately, our experience with the warranty process has been very disappointing. We paid them over $24000- in this pool resurface project, including the upgraded finish and additional treatment that was represented as extending the life of the surface. Used this company to have calcium bead blast and acid wash of my pool and spa. Started the process on 5/20, draining the pool, 5/21 bead blast and acid wash. That process was completed but when came time to seal the tile, the tech did not have the sealer. Was advised that someone would come out on 5/22 and apply the sealer before the pool was refilled. Well, the company sent out an invoice for payment without coming out to seal the tile. I inquired when the tile will be sealed. Was then told someone can come out on Tuesday 5/26. This is some bull and needless to say, I will not be using this company ever again. Beware of this company and their business practices. Not good at doing what they are paid to do. read more

I contacted Refresh Pool Tile, because the tile on my pool/spa needed some work. Troy (owner) took my initial call. I explained to him that the tile needed to be cleaned and the tile on the dam wall for the spa would probably need to be reset. However, I didn't want to replace the tile. Troy informed me that they could re-use the existing tile as long as they were not cracked. He scheduled for an estimator to come out the following week. The estimator arrived on time as promised and provided me with a very reasonable estimate to glass bead the tile and to reset the dam wall, reusing the existing tile. I didn't immediately have the work done, but called back approximately 6 months later hire these guys. To my surprise, Troy honored the estimate despite the time lapse, and we scheduled the job. Eric and his partner Luis came out to do the work. Eric explained the work in great detail and thoroughly answered all my questions. They got to work and knocked out the project in about 4 hours. At the conclusion of the job they cleaned up and left the worksite spotless. Throughout the project they were both extremely professional and personable. Called refresh pool for estimate to replace waterline tile. John came out and discussed the job and provided estimate. i pointed out some concerns i had with alkali on the outside of the pool. He said it was probably as a result of existing tile allowing water through. He went over the steps that they would be providing. 1 Drain pool, 2 Chisel off old tile, 3 grind the surfaces flat, 4 apply waterproof barrier to avoid any water leaching, 5 install new tile, 6 grout tile, 7 acid wash pool and fill. We agreed on price. i watched as work was progressing. the installers missed the waterproofing step. when i brought it to there attention they said it was not put in there work order. I didnt hear back from john until after completion. When he came to collect. he proceeded to tell me that the special thin set they use is the waterproofing. That he didn't explain it correctly and he was sorry about that. I kept pressing, saying that is not true. He said it didn't matter because he would email me the receipt and full warranty, They stand behind there work... Finally i just paid him so he would go away expecting i would receive the warranty. After multiple emails to him for my warranty, my email was blocked. Besides the waterproofing issue. The tile was not installed with straight lines. 5k for shotty job.
